I don t know why you couldn t get a straight answer on this. Claritin and Zyrtec are about the same size. Claritin is actually a bit smaller. Sorry it took 6 years to get a simple answer. Answered by Dorthea Biskach 1 year ago.

You should discuss this with your doctor. He or she has your medical records and will be able to prescribe you with something else. Answered by Julius Morak 1 year ago.

The beginning of last school year (August 2011) I began taking Zyrtec allergy medicine, just one of the pills per day as recommended, to help with runny nose/scratchy throat issues. While it helped me a lot with that, I am just now noticing that it has caused me many problems and I'm worried about my over-all health. 1. Menstrual cycle: This is probably my biggest concern. I started my period shortly after I turned 12, and have recently turned 16. My periods have never been irregular and, if anything, have maybe been 1-2 days off my normal cycle routine. I have never been sexually active at all. I stopped taking Zyrtec on May 16th, because my allergies seemed to have faded. My last period was on May 5th (2012, obviously) and ended on May 12th, which was completely typical for me. I should have gotten my period somewhere around June 4th-6th, and didn't. It seemed odd to me, so I figured it was just due to stress. This made sense due to problems I've been having with my cousin. June 9th I woke up with cramps, and expected my period to start because my periods were usually heaviest with horrible cramps for at least the first three days of my cycle. I have barely bled at all. Almost nothing. And my cramps only lasted for about two hours. I am worried that my menstrual cycle could have drastically changed... When will it go back to normal? And was Zyrtec making my periods too intense? What should I expect now? As I'm sitting here at midnight worrying over my health, I came across multiple OTHER problems I've had that I am now associating with Zyrtec. 2. Depression: I was also taking Zyrtec in the spring months of 2011 for a while (estimated from the months of February to May), and I'm realizing that the depression I had suffered from for about 2 years had thankfully left me during the summer. It came back around March of this year. 3. Nausea: I have had early-morning sickness ALL year- regardless of having my period or not. Periods only intensified my pain. So bad that many days I felt the need to stay home. 4. Dizziness: Often occured with nausea. 5. Anxiety: I began having anxiety attacks at school around March as well. I would be perfectly fine just sitting in class, no stress, and I would randomly start shaking, like vibrating, uncontrollably. It would give me shortness of breath and increased pulse rate as well. 6. Sleep deprivation: I haven't had a good full night's sleep in what seems like forever. Even when I'm extremely tired, I just can't fall asleep but I don't believe I have insomnia or anything related to it. I have researched Zyrtec and complaints on it, and many people have seemingly gone through very similar problems to mine. I did/do not take any other medicines. Although I obviously might have other problems linked to my Zyrtec use, right now I'm most concerned with my menstrual cycle. Maybe I'm over-reacting, but it's really stressing me out even more than I already was. There is no way I could be pregnant, and my period has never been this way before. This might sound stupid, but I want to have a family one day... Could this medicine have messed me up for life? Yes, I plan on telling my mom in the morning. No, my doctor doesn't know I've been taking it, as I have Whitecoat Hypertention (diagnosed at age 14, I believe) and I only attend the doctor's office to update vaccines or if I am seriously ill. Does anyone have any advice or similar issues with this medication? Thank you so much in advance for any help. Answered by Angelo Morinville 1 year ago.

You're making the mistake many people make; assuming correlation equals causation. Just because two things occur within a similar time frame does not necessarily mean one caused the other. There are a lot of other factors that are involved here, not just the drug. Nothing stays the same forever. Menstural irregularities can happen at any time. Out of nowhere and don't always mean anything. The allergy medicine will unlikely have had any effect on your mestural cycle. "As I'm sitting here at midnight worrying over my health, I came across multiple OTHER problems I've had that I am now associating with Zyrtec." "I have researched Zyrtec and complaints on it, and many people have seemingly gone through very similar problems to mine." Here we go... Text book. You're having issues, can't find an answer so you've started "researching on the internet" and have come across a bunch of people who also are having similar issues, increasing your worry and anxiety. Now you're certain that as other people have taken this drug and also had similar symptoms, the drug MUST be to blame. You're forgetting a few things: Anxiety, mestural irregularities and nausea are all very non specific symptoms that can be caused by many factors. Can antihistamines increases HR and cause nasuea? Yes, do they normally do this? No. Many people take allergy medicines, many people suffer from anxiety, nausea and period problems. That does not mean the drug caused those problems. When something goes wrong, we naturally try and find an answer, but you're trying to piece things together and by doing so, are jumping to conclusions. The sort of behaviour you are displaying is terribly common in young women.I've been there myself. I can't say for certain that you don't have any medical problems but I do know that the allergy medicine is highly unlikely to be responsible. I suggest you stop looking on the net for answers and speak to your doctor. Also ignore the illogical moron above. Answered by Charita Openshaw 1 year ago.

I have/had the same problem. Allergies are really new for me and I've had a cat with my boyfriend for the last 2 years. I thought I just had constant colds but in the end I was diagnosed with cat, dog, hay fever and dust allergies. I asked my allergist about desensitization (the shots) and she said I had far too many "allergy points" to go into that route. I took Claritin, but it's doesn't really do the job. In the end we found a new home for our cat. I was starting to wheeze and my allergies were only getting worse. Constant exposure will do that. Our cat has been gone for 3 months now and I still have reactions to our home (I work in another city during the week, thus right now only sleeping at home on weekends). I had to really weigh the options. The allergic reaction to our cat was really straining my immune system. Good luck and I hope this story helps. Answered by Devorah Westervoorde 1 year ago.

Your caught up in the big pharma scam. Government officials are in on profets made by the pharmaceutical industry. Too many medications are being used by many people. Taking any drug without telling your doctor can lead to serious drug interactions. I think if you detoxify from all the crappy drugs and food that are sold your immune system can recover and help you become more resistant to allergens in your environment. Try a good clensing program, get off all drugs, and eat live natural foods and you'll feel much better. Remember, if is sold in a can or a box, its not good for you. BVH hormones in milk are really bad too. I am usuing Zyrtec now and it is working wonderfully, with me it always has made me sleepy so i take it before bed, and it is helping me sleep better. I was having the craziest dreams and restless nights. So now I am breathing and sleeping better... Best of luck to you Answered by Mckinley Swabb 1 year ago.

If none of those work for you, I'm not sure of what your options are. I had HORRIBLE allergies in the early weeks/months of my pregnancy and can relate ... the weather, new carpeting (gag!) and being in an old house did nothing to help. It made trying to sleep a virtual nightmare. The one thing that worked for me was Sudafed. Some will say don't take it, other doctors say it's okay. I would try to split a pill in two first and see if it helps and you can get away with less of a dose. If you're congested, you might want to try a neti pot. I am too chicken to use one, but I hear other people say they work to relieve symptoms of congestion. It uses water to irrigate your sinuses or something - if you google it you'll find out exactly what it does. A hot shower might help, too, but unfortunately it's only temporary. I hope you get some relief! With the change of seasons, I did, but now that it's winter and more dry air suddenly I've been sneezing non-stop. Good luck! Answered by Ariana Linkous 1 year ago.

It works pretty good, used it during my last pregnancy (Claritin I think before that). So yeah, just use it, side effects at most are feeling a little sleepier for a few days at first. Answered by Mariah Hudek 1 year ago.

You can also take benydral or Claritin after the first trimester. I used them during my first pregnancy and remember them making me tired but it was worth it so I could breathe and see again! Answered by Lajuana Boelke 1 year ago.

The thing is, I can't swallow pills like Tylenol, Advil, etc. (really sad, I know. ) I could only swallow Zyrtec because the the 24 hour tablets were so small ! So I was wondering does Claritin have any similar pills that are as small as Zyrtecs? Thanks. Answered by Michel Schultz 1 year ago.

I don t know why you couldn t get a straight answer on this. Claritin and Zyrtec are about the same size. Claritin is actually a bit smaller. Sorry it took 6 years to get a simple answer. Answered by Jimmie Hollett 1 year ago.

You should discuss this with your doctor. He or she has your medical records and will be able to prescribe you with something else. Answered by Zulma Youngblood 1 year ago.

Answered by Letitia Furno 1 year ago.

Answered by Darnell Volmer 1 year ago.

Answered by Leia Koble 1 year ago.

Your caught up in the big pharma scam. Government officials are in on profets made by the pharmaceutical industry. Too many medications are being used by many people.
