I am 14 weeks pregnant and still taking Zofran ODT since 6 weeks and have been extremely tired all throughout. I am not throwing up anything from past 3 weeks, I just have nausea for which I am on zofran still. I am just wondering if my extreme tiredness is because of zofran. I am taking 4 tablets of zofran of 4 mg each day. But if I stopped it my nausea increases and eventually I vomit. But this tiredness is just killing me, is zofran the reason for my tiredness? Thanks!! Answered by Latisha Rusinski 11 months ago.

Zofran was a Godsend to me. I took an 8mg pill that dissolved on the tongue. My doctor instructed that I only take the medication when feeling extremely nauseous. I understand that you are taking this everyday, even when not feeling nauseous? Hmmm... Zofran is usually given to cancer patients on chemo, can cause headaches and occasional fatigue. If your fatigue continues see your doctor. In the meantime, try to cut back on taking Zofran so often. My nausea usually came around the same time everyday (2-4pm). If this is the same with you, try taking the med only just before your "sick time." Answered by Etha Vanderweide 11 months ago.

The metallic taste in your mouth is a typical pregnancy symptom. It could still be caused from that medication, Im not farmiliar with it, but I got rid of it when I was pregnant by sucking on lemons (which also help with nausea) or drinking something carbonated. Sometimes its caused by eating with metal silverware too, so I switched to plastic spoons! Good luck! Answered by Alonso Cappucci 11 months ago.

Absolutely it will still work. It is a dissolvable tabletto make it easier to take. THe drug itself does not change if it is swallowed whole or if it dissolves first. Some people believe that it has to dissolve so it can be absorbed through the skin in the mouth- that is not true. Even if it dissolves it still has to be swallowed. It is an orally disintegrating tablet- not a sublingual tablet. Answered by Latisha Kunc 11 months ago.

The doc gave me Zofran for my queasy feeling with the flu or gastritis bug I'm suffering with. It's a dissolving tablet, and the taste is awful. I took just took one but instead of letting it dissolve I swallowed it whole with some soda. Will it still work for me on preventing vomiting, or will it work less, or not at all since I didn't let it dissolve on my tongue and swallow it with my salvia? I had once swallowed a thumbtack(not intentionally, was just chewing on it like a pencil), and because of the direction i swallowed it(metal facing outward), it didn't do any damage. I can tell you this, though. I drank like 4 bottles of water as soon as it happened to push it through my digestive tract, and, until they knew, the doctors were confused how the tack got so far down. So that seems to work (just dont go overboard with how much you drink (like gallons worth) since that'd be water poisoning). If you are really worried, go to the doctors. They'll take an xray,t ell you to come back in a day or two to take another, and give you some stool softener. But I doubt itll even do anything since the tabs are sharp only at the bottom, and barely at that. Plus, they're pretty tiny in comparison to the circumference of the digestive tract, so I doubt they'll do anything. BUT, if you see blood in your stool, go see a doctor. Do you swallow Zofran or let it dissolve?
Im pregnant and my midwife prescribed zofran to me for nausea. The first time i went to the doctor the told me told me to let it dissolve. but on my prescription it doesn't say! so i'm not sure if i swallow it or let it dissolve please help?? Asked by Kimberley Wassum 11 months ago.

Look at the leaflet in the pack. General information... "Zofran can be taken with or without food. Take the Zofran regular tablet with a full glass of water. To take Zofran orally disintegrating tablet (Zofran ODT): Open the package and peel back the foil from the tablet blister. Do not push a tablet through the foil or you may damage it. Place it in your mouth. It will begin to dissolve right away. Do not swallow the tablet whole. Allow it to dissolve in your mouth without chewing." Presumably you have a disintegrating tablet. As long as you don't swallow it whole it doesn't matter whether you dissolve it water, or just in your mouth. Answered by Raymundo Howerter 11 months ago.

Yes. Zofran is the miracle pill. It stops nausea and you can't overdose on it. Just to be safe (since I don't know your daughters allergies or other medications- and since I'm not a licensed physician) I'd call a pharmacist and ask about it. It should be fine though. Zofran ODT is the best medication on the market and is available by prescription only. It's a 4 mg tab that you dissolve on your tongue, but is expensive. Phenergan is available by prescription and is on the $4 list at Wal-Mart. Answered by Tom Ukosata 11 months ago.
