Zantac is a good idea and perfectly safe to take at night before bedtime. I was told this by my Doctor and like you, I take Prevacid in the AM and the Zantac in the PM. I sleep better and straight thru the night. I didn't sleep good at all before I added the Zantac to my routine. Gerd is a bad thing to have at night untreated and the Zantac will neutralize any excess acid forming while you sleep.....Good Luck with school........... Answered by Cindy Gressler 11 months ago.

This is not a place to play with your health. Call your doctor and make sure about this BEFORE complications set in. If you feel more comfortable talking with a pharmacist, then do this. Do something positive for yourself. Just don't take chances. Remember this, What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? - Romans 8:31. Peace, Love and God Bless. Can you crush Zantac 150 pills?
I have to start taking Zantac 150 pills. I can not swallow pills though (don't know how). Does the coating around them make the pills unable to be crushed (will it not work the same if they are crushed I mean) or can I crush them? And do you know of a way for me to take the pills without tasting them? Asked by Erich Gardenas 11 months ago.

Zantac-150 has no special drug delivery mechanism,so you can crush it and consume it.crush it just before consuming since it is a hygroscopic salt,it will absorb moisture from air specially during rainy season if crushed and kept for some time. The purpose of sugar coating is to mask the unpleasant taste. So mix a little glucose powder to make it palatable. In case of enteric coated or slow release or sustain release or extended release tab.,crushing will spoil the release mechanism rendering the tab.either useless or less effective or make the tab. not reach the proper sight like some tabs.are suppose to release the drug in the stomach, some in the intestines and some in the colon. That is a super small pill. If you can swallow a bite of food, you can swallow it. Just put it on the back of your tongue and take a big drink. Crushing it up may make it less effective, but you need to talk to a pharmacist about that if you really can't swallow it. Answered by Samuel Bredlow 11 months ago.

I would say don't crush them but maybe take them with a spoonful of honey, jam or applesauce. Well maybe not a full spoon but enough to hide that taste. Answered by Luz Bairam 11 months ago.

THANKS! Answered by Stephania Widrig 11 months ago.

Zantac works fast and stops the symptoms completely. Never failed me. It's a drug that I've had in my home pharmacy for ever. No you can't take them both. Actually you can't take more than 1 the whole day. In rare cases when I was not able to sleep I had to take 2 per day, morning/night. But I didn't take any the next day. I was on Nexium ( one daily prescribed by my doctor ) and I run out at about a month ago. It was awful to stop and my gerd was worse than ever. Same period I started on a diet because I want to lose some wreight. 2 days after I started to eat less/healthier/regular meals gerd symptoms just stopped! I got nothing now, no discomfort at all, no pain, I can breathe normally again and sleep without the need of 3 pillows. I never believed that what you eat, how much etc. plays such a big role in gerd, even though doctors always say so, but it's true and it works fast, from the first or second day. My aunt had the same problem for a while and started to have regular meals ( at least 4 per day ), no fried food, fast food, junk etc, but healthy home cooked meals and she stopped gerd also. Eating less helps also. Take your time while eating so you'll feel when you are full so you don't have to over eat and get the gerd symptoms afterwards. Is it ok to take 2 Zantac 150 in one day?
I took one about 7 this morning and my gas is making it hard for me to breath right now ..is it ok to take it again? Asked by Donnie Bur 11 months ago.

yes i took zantac earlier on in my pregnancy and i use to take 2 a day that was what it said on the box to take... zantac really didn't do much for my heartburn and i was chanced over to Pireiot you should ask your doc about it becasue its great i have not had heartburn since. its the same category and zantac too so its compleatly safe.. you do need a script for it tho Answered by Douglas Philley 11 months ago.

oooh I dont know about that... Go by what your doctor told you to do.. Be careful though .. maybe you should try to go to a Lamaze class to control your breathing .. If not talk to your doctor! I had panic attacks while pregnant ..Soo I know what its like not being about to breath while prego! GOod luck! Answered by Clotilde Lenker 11 months ago.

Can i take Zantac 150 and tums at the same time?
Well i took zantac 6 hours ago and just ate. I just got diagnosed with acid reflex so im new to this stuff. Asked by Latrina Mcgibney 11 months ago.

Zantac alone should help your problem. But if you must take a Tums, wait 2 hours after you take a Zantac( at least). Give the ntac time to work though---you may not need the Tums! Answered by Wendolyn Husak 11 months ago.

Zantac And Tums Answered by Tomika Fragnoli 11 months ago.

t's never good to mix two different kinds of medication for the same problem unless medically advised. Both Zantac and Tums do the same job although you are likely to find the effect of Zantac slower to begin but longer lasting. Avoid complications and stick to one remedy - or seek medical advice. Answered by Rina Caneza 11 months ago.

Never mix two my friend unless it's doctor prescribed...and know what you are taking at all times. You gotta watch the news man Answered by Aaron Pesiri 11 months ago.

It was my LIFE saver when pregnant!! You could also try Pepcid or Nexium - maybe one of those will work better Answered by Ada Meisner 11 months ago.

How many Zantac 150 Over the Counter pills should I take if I am a ten year old girl?
Asked by Malissa Keogan 11 months ago.

The correct answer is probably none. It is very unusual for 10 year olds to suffer from gastric or duodenal ulcers, and if they do, there is good reason to consult a doctor. Then again, if a ten year old is really justified in taking over the counter Zantac, I hope it is with parental knowledge, and between you your parents you will be able to get the answer to your question from the package insert. As far as I am aware the only form of Zantac available over the counter is 75 mg, not 150. Answered by Shirly Lemaire 11 months ago.

You should only take 150 mg If your body weight is between 100 and 200 lbs if u need more ... talk to a doctor about your options. Answered by Caren Rudge 11 months ago.

None-a ten yr old shouldnt suffer from acid indigestion-talk to your Mom to follow up with a Dr. Answered by Janise Reinoehl 11 months ago.

If the 10 year old's birth father is still alive, then she has a father and doesn't need to be adopted. Answered by Andera Otto 11 months ago.

150 is very high amount, normally it is one a day and only 50 and there is no evidence of it causing affect on baby but not recommend when breastfeeding, ask your doctor as they can tell you better, Good Luck Answered by Iliana Abasta 11 months ago.

I've been taking Zantac 300 for a hiatal hernia and acid reflux for years. We recently changed health insurance and the new insurance doesn't cover Zantac, so I started taking OTC Zantac. For the past week now, I've been having a lot of trouble (pain) with my hiatal hernia, so is there something different about the OTC Zantac and the prescription Zantac that would cause this? Answered by Vivan Noke 11 months ago.

No, the medicinal ingredients are exactly the same, so taking 2 of the OTC Zantac is the same as 1 300mg prescription Zantac. As you know, Zantac is prescribed for acid reflux, so it won't help with the hernia. What happens is that the hernia puts pressure on your stomach which can make the reflux worse. If your hernia is bothering you, you should see the doctor to make sure that the hernia isn't protruding too far. Hope you feel better soon and Good Luck. Answered by Norbert Lebby 11 months ago.

There are the same medicine so if you are having more pain that before then something is going on and you need to see your doctor. Also why not consider getting your hiatal hernia surgically repaired if you are a good surgical candidate? Answered by Ada Naomi 11 months ago.

Answered by Brigid Dornbusch 11 months ago.

I would say don't crush them but maybe take them with a spoonful of honey, jam or applesauce. Well maybe not a full spoon but enough to hide that taste. Answered by Jamey Voce 11 months ago.

Gluck Answered by Leanne Sins 11 months ago.

How many Zantac 150 Over the Counter pills should I take if I am a ten year old girl?
Asked by Lanny Bia 11 months ago.

Answered by Nancy Chham 11 months ago.

You should only take 150 mg If your body weight is between 100 and 200 lbs if u need more ... talk to a doctor about your options. Answered by Gigi Benike 11 months ago.

Answered by Alejandrina Gingles 11 months ago.

Answered by Kenneth Babeu 11 months ago.

There are the same medicine so if you are having more pain that before then something is going on and you need to see your doctor. Also why not consider getting your hiatal hernia surgically repaired if you are a good surgical candidate? Answered by Terrie Henneberger 11 months ago.

Asked by Consuelo Daisy 11 months ago.

Answered by Shakita Azure 11 months ago.

You should only take 150 mg If your body weight is between 100 and 200 lbs if u need more ... talk to a doctor about your options. Answered by Gidget Heidelberger 11 months ago.

Answered by Loura Tlatenchi 11 months ago.

There are the same medicine so if you are having more pain that before then something is going on and you need to see your doctor. Also why not consider getting your hiatal hernia surgically repaired if you are a good surgical candidate? Answered by Jeanine Duverney 11 months ago.

Asked by Marcella Brain 11 months ago.
