Vivelle dot patch for menstrual migraine.?
My period is late - is this because of the patch? Asked by Autumn Vermilyea 2 years ago.

The Vivelle dot patch should not cause your period to be late, but stress could be a factor, such as migraines putting stress on the body. Answered by Celinda Vandebrake 2 years ago.

I have recently been kicked off my parents' insurance plan due to my age and now have no way to get my badly needed birth control (not only do I have irregular periods and intense cramps, but I am also in a LTR with no desire for a baby). A well meaning friend contacted her gynecologist-Aunt and hooked me up with a bag of free samples. the samples she gave me were of the Vivelle Dot. A quick google search seems to be telling me that these are simply estrogen supplements. Who is right? do these have an alternative use as birth control? Answered by Lisandra Binn 2 years ago.

No, they are not birth control and you should not use them. Vivelle Dot is estrogen replacement for menopausal women. They do not act as birth control and won't help with your periods and cramps. Answered by Ebonie Louis 2 years ago.

Vaginal irritation on Vivelle Dot?
I've been tested for yeast twice with this and it isn't a yeast infection. The gyno has no idea what it is. Asked by Felipa Osias 2 years ago.

The Dot IS a hormone supplement, so anytime you introduce or alter hormonal levels in your body, it is entirely possible to throw off the bacterial levels that control yeast...which is what I suspect you're suffering from. Talk to your doctor and make sure you're ok...it's probably a simple matter of taking acidophilus and getting an Rx for Diflucan to treat the yeast...but make sure it's yeast first. It depends on your age, if you are a pre teen or young teen then the patch is to give you the estrogen you lack, it will also help you develop boobs and eventually a monthly period. It will be maybe 3 months before you see changes starting. You possibly won't feel any different though, but will notice body changes If you are older and past puberty it will help keep your hormone levels right, progesterone will also be added for part of the month. You will likely feel different than if you were not having the patch, but in a positive way. My daughter also has turner syndrome and shares her 1st name with you, she's nearly 15 now and is on a duel tablet form of estrogen and progesterone Answered by Monnie Tandus 2 years ago.

I am 31 years old and have been using the patches for about 3-4 years due to Premature Ovarian Failure. I mainly began using it because I had no sex drive and they definitely helped with that :) But I wanted to stop them for long enough to get my blood tested to see what MY levels are without the aid of HRT. Last week, I had 3 straight days of feeling utterly sad/heavy. Just very unlike myself. I am having minor hot flashes (definitely not as bad as my teen years, thankfully!) and find myself hot in bed, but not actually sweating. I am having some pretty bad vaginal dryness. Hurts after sex each time even with lubrication and even after I pee. Feels like I am wiping an already dry and painful vagina. Those are the main ones and I have to wait another month or so before I get my labs done. Is it going to get worse for me? Answered by Whitley Philben 2 years ago.

I had a total hystrectomy in 1995 and been bad the last eight years since i quit hormones im on xanax and wellbutrin and going off prozac..today i feel so aanxious and my heart hearts, wonder if its from the vivelle patch i started it nov 12.oh im on vagifem 2 times a week...i had blood hormones taken end of july and dr is working with me i had clear head for 2 weeeks in sept, but not since any ideas? Answered by Kimbra Sporle 2 years ago.

After not having any hormones for so many years, you have an extreme reaction when hormones are suddenly added. That's why the vivelle Dot is making you fee anxious and making your heart hurt. You can cut the patch to reduce the dose. So why not try that. Start with only 1/4 of one patch and see how you do. Then increase if you feel like you would like more. The difference in all the estrogens: a complicated question. Taking estrogen is best in a patch, because it is better for your heart. There are 3 main types of estrogen you can take: estradiol (the most powerful kind, and that's the kind that is in the patch); estrone (less powerful, is the main type present in menopausal women. If you take estrogen pills, a lot of it gets converted to estrone) and estriol, the weakest kind. Some menopausal women take a pill with a mixture of estrone, estriol, and estradiol. That would be less powerful than the estrogen patch, which you might like better since the patch has such a strong effect on you. But see what you feel like on a lower dose of the patch--maybe that will be OK. I think the estrogen will give you a clear head, but for now you are taking too much and that is causing you problems. Answered by Clarence Bursch 2 years ago.

No, they are not birth control and you should not use them. Vivelle Dot is estrogen replacement for menopausal women. They do not act as birth control and won't help with your periods and cramps. Answered by Stephen Kjellsen 2 years ago.

Vaginal irritation on Vivelle Dot?
I've been tested for yeast twice with this and it isn't a yeast infection. The gyno has no idea what it is. Asked by Cody Demesa 2 years ago.

My daughter also has turner syndrome and shares her 1st name with you, she's nearly 15 now and is on a duel tablet form of estrogen and progesterone Answered by Major Rumbley 2 years ago.
