Anyone familiar with the medication VIBRAMYCIN?
Yogurt will just irritate me more, Drop Short and Duck. I made a boo boo when I said I was on Bactrim for a yeast infection, it was in fact a UTI.....

I've been taking this antibiotic since Wednesday and unlike other antibiotics, I've been going to the bathroom more often. I recently had the displeasure of getting a stomach ache the other day after taking it before eating, and am just wondering how I have such drastic effects as opposed to when I had Bactrim or Keflex. Answered by Whitley Scripter 4 months ago.
I have life long urinary problems due to my Spina Bifida, BB, so that would explain it, but the sudden going without any sensation altogether, while not uncommon for me, is a bit irritating. I also poop more, too. I'm being treated for Hidradenitis suppurativa...I've been dealing with it for over a year now, and this is the only antibiotic that has done this to me. (sorry I forgot the first part of your name) de Witt. I am taking the med for HS, or as you state MRSA, it is not for a UTI. I was curious if the increased urination was a sign of an undetected UTI. Thank you also for the information. As said, I'm keeping hydrated. In fact, drinking more than I usually do. I've never been this thirsty on any medication. Answered by Jannet Oehrlein 4 months ago.
Thanks for the extra info, BB. I wasn't sure of the term for an undetected UTI. I did recently have a yeast infection after taking Keflex in the past month for the HS, and was given Bactrim DS, I am now on the Vibramycin for the HS (all 3 meds were distributed within the last month). I am keeping hydrated, and am not vomitting or anything like that, just irritated. Answered by Kala Chasten 4 months ago.
Vibramycin is an antibiotic used for treatment of bacterial infections. An upset stomach is not unheard of but the increased urination stumps me. Could just be coincidence unless you are being treated for a bacterial urinary tract infection. We have bacteria in our intestines and the medicine may have caused a temporary disturbance. I'd mention it to my doctor if it continues or worsens. Edit: I don't believe your diagnosis of HS has any influence on this. Anytime we use an antibiotic there is a chance of infection such as yeast. The antibiotic is fighting a bacterial infection thus disrupting the normal bacteria in our bodies. This is most likely the cause of the increased BMs also. If you should develop thrush in your mouth I would call the doc. I do believe you are experiencing normal, but irritating, side effects. Again, not sure about the bladder. Make certain to mention it to the doctor so he can check you for a quiet UTI. Never risk not treating a UTI as they can lead to renal failure. Doxycycline (Vibramycin) isn't one of the best choices for treating UTI's, but of course you could have one. There's nothing about doxy that would make it do things to you that Bactim or Keflex wouldn't do as well, but each situation is different. And I assume you're taking it because doxy works on MRSA in your community (it's different in different cities). Considering how difficult it is to treat either hidradenitis or MRSA, leave alone hidradenitis caused by MRSA, you may not have a better alternative. Answered by Leeanne Haq 4 months ago.
They seem to be under the normal range of side effects reported for Vibramycin. However, if they become worse or continue I would suggest contacting your doctor to try alternative medication. I hope you feel better soon. Answered by Merrill Karter 4 months ago.
Would yogurt help as sometimes it helps to sooth the stomach lining and discharge. Answered by Artie Doby 4 months ago.

Vibramycin actually causes photo-sensitivity meaning it makes you more prone to sunburn which can be dangerous and painful. Why not try sunless tanning Answered by Garfield Lueders 4 months ago.
It's in the same family as tetracycline, so no...there is a risk of a rash. Nobody NEEDS a tan. You should have planned ahead. Answered by Bradford Goodlett 4 months ago.
NO. some of these drugs will have a warning on the label. Ask your druggist to be sure,Most antibio, you should not get into the sun. Answered by Phylis Rubenstein 4 months ago.
Can I take aspirin with vibramycin and strepsuls?
I'm on my period, with a cough and sore throat, and I've got pretty bad acne. Yeah, I'm having a pretty bad day. Anyway, do anyway of the ingredients hurt one another? And does anyone know what happens if I don't take vibramycin right after a meal? It's been a couple hours... Does a snack count?

Yep, you're having some day alright! You are better off taking ibuprofen, (Motrin or Advil) rather than aspirin when you have doxycycline, and it works better for cramps anyway. Aspirin makes you bleed a little more, and that's not good when you take Vibramycin. And you should take a little food with it, because it can cause an upset stomach. Something small, even a snack would be fine. BTW - make sure you don't spend a lot of time in the sun when you take this, it can make your body over-react to the sunlight. Anyway, feel better ---- on all counts! Answered by Veronika Burrichter 4 months ago.
Aspirin, in case you didn't already know, works by thinning the blood. It is useful for headache but if your on other medication could be very dangerous. I'd recommend calling a wall greens, Wilmar pharmacy or Reuven a rite aid pharmacy and ask a pharmacist. They specialize in knowing what problems might occur with different combinations of medication. Answered by Adrian Scianna 4 months ago.
Prednisone since 92'. Had to take antibiotic vibramycin got sick anything else I can take?
I got bit by a tick
Asked by Ruthanne Knole 4 months ago.
? - Welcome to Answers. Whoa! Slow down a bit. ONLY your physician can give you an informed opinion. It depends upon the dose and reasons for your prednisone. It also depends upon the reason and what you mean by "got sick" from Vibramycin. It also is extremely important to know if you are allergic to or have had any medicine reactions to other drugs which may be related to Vibramycin or another prescription-required medicine that might be an effective substitute. Be wise. Call your doctor and discuss this matter TODAY. Answered by Vickey Matton 4 months ago.
Is it safe to take Vibramycin without a spleen?
I don't have a spleen so i was wondering if this would be ok to take.

The spleen is not involved in the metabolism of any medications that I am aware of. Taking Vibramycin should be fine. Answered by Lonnie Sendejo 4 months ago.

the doctor gave me gen vibramycin 100mg (doxycycline hyclate 100 mg). my question is does this stuff work, has anyone taken it. how long does it take to clear up my acne completely? if this stuff dosnt fix it then i plan on taking accutane
Asked by Ross Cory 4 months ago.
Acne is a difficult problem to get rid if, what works for me make make you worse...so its impossible to say if it will work for you. Just give it a fair trial (say 3 months) and if it does not work try something else. Answered by Sunday Othman 4 months ago.
NATURAL ACNE PROTOCOL 1/ Never, ever touch your face. 2/ Use 3 facecloths to wash your face, one to soap on, one to soap off with very hot water, one to rinse off with ice cold water, in that order, once a day. 3/ If you are under 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A once a day with a full meal 4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal. Do not get pregnant while taking vitamin A. Do not take any more, like Accutane, it will stop you growing. 5/ Never, ever. pick, squeeze or pop your spot. Read number 1 again. 6/ Do this for 90 days. 7/ Invest in a brand new pillow and 2 new or more pillow cases to double bag' your pillow. HOT wash every couple of days. Source: A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes. The secret is never to touch the spots Tips on how to treat acne and achieve perfect clear skin in as little as 7 days? Answered by Elaina Seifried 4 months ago.

My son is on Vibramycin doxycycline calcium 7 mls every 12 hours. He has been on this medication since Wednesday night, the first 7ml dose was given then. I also have him on the Vibramycin and 3tsp of the Children's Ibuprofen 100. But he is still spiking a fever of 102.8 or higher, he has now developed a running nose which he did not have the before, Wednesday the doctor stated that his lungs were clear, ears were fine, but I am getting a little worried because I can only keep his fever down for 8 hours which is the time frame for the Motrin. Also do I need to Refrigerate the Vibramycin Doxycycline calcium or not. I am getting a little concern with his fever still spiking after the Children's Ibuprofen 100 wears off. Also before his fever spikes up to 102.8 or higher he states he is tired and sleepy. He gets really weak, latharjeck and complains of a headache, I am concerned. Answered by Letty Kalscheuer 4 months ago.
I would take him to the ER because of the fever. Your doctor should either change his medication or do some more testing because this is too long to be having a high temperature which is very dangerous. Answered by Ollie Eldreth 4 months ago.
I see nothing wrong with what you did. Its not like you were lusting over your son. You did what you hought was best for your son. You went out your way to do that for your son mean you are caring. People may see it as weird, awkward and wrong but if your reason for doing what you did was of a good innocent reason then you done no wrong. People overeact. I'm not a parent.
