Glucocorticoids vs. Corticosteroids Budesonide in comparison other corticosteroids has little influence on the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis which also limit the need of tapering before discontinuation. Budesonide are glucocorticoids are a class of steroid hormones characterised by an ability to bind with the cortisol receptor and trigger similar effects. Glucocorticoids are distinguished from mineralocorticoids and sex steroids by the specific receptors, target cells, and effects. Technically, the term corticosteroid refers to both glucocorticoids and mineralocorticoids, but is often used as a synonym for glucocorticoid. Triamcinolone Acetonide are Corticosteroids are hormones produced naturally by the adrenal glands which have many important functions on every organ system. Corticosteroids affect the strength of heart muscle and its response to natural chemicals affecting heart rate. They affect the water and salt balance in the body and also enable the body to cope with stress. Stress includes changes in temperature, pain, fear, anxiety and illness and can be hazardous if the body is not equiped to cope, due to low levels of corticosteroids. Corticosteroids allow us to respond to stress by increasing the rate and force of the heartbeat, increasing blood supply to essential tissues (muscle, heart, brain), increasing the body's supply of energy by raising blood sugar and by several other effects on body systems. Triamcinolone acetonide is a synthetic corticosteroid and is given by injection in many situations where a lasting corticosteroid effect is required. This includes replacement therapy in people whose adrenal glands are not producing enough natural steroids (adrenal insufficiency) and decreasing inflammation in certain disease states. Corticosteroids decrease inflammation by acting within cells to prevent the release of certain chemicals that are important in the immune system. These chemicals are normally involved in producing immune and allergic responses, resulting in inflammation. By decreasing the release of these chemicals in a particular area, inflammation is reduced. This can help control a wide number of disease states, characterised by excessive inflammation. They include severe allergic reactions, inflammation of the lungs in asthma and inflammation of the joints in arthritis. The injection can be given as a single dose to people who suffer from hayfever and don't respond to conventional therapy. This can relieve symptoms over the entire hayfever period. Triamcinolone may also be given by injection directly into a joint to relieve inflammation and pain and increase mobility of the affected joint, in conditions such as arthritis. Triamcinolone also decreases the numbers of white blood cells circulating in the blood. This is useful for the treatment of certain types of leukaemia, where there is an abnormally large production of certain white blood cells. It is also used to treat some diseases which are caused by the immune system attacking the body's own tissues (auto immune diseases). Triamcinolone is used in much higher doses than the levels of corticosteroids produced naturally by the body, and as such, the usual actions of corticosteroids become exaggerated and can be observed as side effects of this medicine. are hormones produced naturally by the adrenal glands which have many important functions on every organ system. TRIAMCINOLONE ACETONIDE CREAM, USP and TRIAMCINOLONE ACETONIDE OINTMENT, USP supplied in strengths of 0.025%, 0.1% AND 0.5%, is a class of medication named topical corticosteroids, which constitute a class of primarily synthetic steroids indicated for the relief of the inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses. Because topical steroids change the way the immune system functions, they can inhibit the skin’s ability to fight off bacterial or fungal infections. A typical example of this is seen when someone applies a topical steroid to an itchy groin rash. If this is a fungal infection, the rash gets redder, itchier, and spreads more extensively than a typical fungal infection. The resulting rash is a bizarre pattern of widespread inflammation with pustules called Tinea incognito. Can i use triamcinolone acetonide cream on my canker sore?
I have a huge canker sore and my mom said it would be good on a canker sore. is this ok to use? Asked by Kraig Lifsey 1 year ago.

Triamcinolone acetonide cream should NOT be used on a canker sore. This cream is specifically for skin conditions such as eczema or any other symptoms with skin such as redness, swelling, or itchyness. It's only for external use only because if you ingested a certain dosage, it can have severe side effects. To lessen the pain, I suggest you use canker sore medicine like Orajel or Kanka. Orajel is easier to put on because it's more of a gel whereas Kanka is more "liquidy" and the applicator is weird, but the results are the same. I also suggest you use mouthwash everyday (morning and night) to kill bacteria and make it go away faster. It hurts because of the alcohol, but this is so that it kills the bacteria and prevents it from recurring again if you were to have another cut. Answered by Annika Narvaez 1 year ago.

Triamcinolone acetonide, is a synthetic corticosteroid hormone with uses similar to cortisone; it reduces inflammation but does not cause salt and water retention. Answered by Vivien Strohl 1 year ago.

It's a corticosteroid. Corticosteroids are usually used to reduce inflammation, as the product of immune responses. This can be varied based on the type of inflammation - a cream can be perscribes for topical allergies (hives, poison oak, for example) or possibly auto-immune disorders or infections of the skin. Great care should be taken with prolonged use of corticosteroid creams, however, cause they can cause long-term damage to your skin if not used as directed (including skin cancer). Because topical steroids change the way the immune system functions, they can inhibit the skin’s ability to fight off bacterial or fungal infections. A typical example of this is seen when someone applies a topical steroid to an itchy groin rash. Can i use triamcinolone acetonide cream on my canker sore?
I have a huge canker sore and my mom said it would be good on a canker sore. is this ok to use? Asked by Devin Beach 1 year ago.

Answered by Rivka Pergram 1 year ago.

lovinithere, NO! This medication should definitely NOT be used for fungal infections. I shall explain.
Asked by Kimber Wesch 1 year ago.

Answered by Elayne Andruszkiewic 1 year ago.

Asked by Darnell Wiltsey 1 year ago.

Answered by Cherri Fyler 1 year ago.

Technically, the term corticosteroid refers to both glucocorticoids and mineralocorticoids, but is often used as a synonym for glucocorticoid. Because topical steroids change the way the immune system functions, they can inhibit the skin’s ability to fight off bacterial or fungal infections. Can i use triamcinolone acetonide cream on my canker sore?
I have a huge canker sore and my mom said it would be good on a canker sore. is this ok to use? Asked by Maritza Cavalieri 1 year ago.

Answered by Claudia Fiene 1 year ago.

Can i use triamcinolone acetonide cream on my canker sore?
I have a huge canker sore and my mom said it would be good on a canker sore. is this ok to use? Asked by Robbin Portrum 1 year ago.

Answered by Lavelle Blaire 1 year ago.

Can i use triamcinolone acetonide cream on my canker sore?
I have a huge canker sore and my mom said it would be good on a canker sore. is this ok to use? Asked by Arla Rasor 1 year ago.

Answered by Cassondra Cahn 1 year ago.

Technically, the term corticosteroid refers to both glucocorticoids and mineralocorticoids, but is often used as a synonym for glucocorticoid. Because topical steroids change the way the immune system functions, they can inhibit the skin’s ability to fight off bacterial or fungal infections.
