Has anyone here tried the today sponge? Has anyone here gotten pregnant using it?

the today sponge has been proven rather effective, and if youre a breast feeding mom, i would say its one of the best non hormonal methods. its efficacy is 90% when used correctly, and thats rather good, add breast feeding to that, which also offers some birth control, and you have yourself a rather safe method. if it was terribly ineffective, then they would have removed it from the market by now, and also wouldnt have brought it back after the original manufacturer went out of business in the 80s. i personally hate condoms, and this allows greater freedom, unlike the diaphram. you can leave it in for up to 30 hours, and have sex as many times as you like during that time. leave it in for 6 hours after the last act of intercourse, and voila! its very easy to use as well, unlike the diaphram which can be misplaced and slip out, (any misplacement renders it almost useless, and you also need a vaginal exam to be fitted for it.) you simply wet the sponge, squeeze it, and insert far into the vagina, with the dimpled side up. all in all, its awesome. Not a very effective choice. I wouldnt trust stuff like that. If you used it with another type of Contraceptive, it might help. Maybe use the sponge and a condom or sponge with birth control....just to be safe. Answered by Trisha Gianikas 1 month ago.
I have never tried to use a sponge...why not just get on the pill?? Seems so much easier. Answered by Serita Beder 1 month ago.
