Is Tagamet an antacid?
I have Tagamet HB 200 mg....will this neutralize hydrochloric acid?
Asked by Reena Mottley 1 year ago.
The question says it all. I need to do an experiment for chemistry. I need two different brands of antacid tablets, so my mom got me Alka Seltzer and Tagamet....but is Tagamet an antacid? It says it helps with stomach ulcers. ---The experiment is : compare the effectiveness of two different indigestion medicines to reduce excess stomach acid. Answered by Elliott Heerdt 1 year ago.
Yes, but some medicines work on reducing existing acid while others act by stopping future acid production. Answered by Temple Ketner 1 year ago.

Sometimes I get an upset stomach with an extreme urgency to have a bowel movement. This comes and goes. What I am wondering about is when I have the bowel movements that are accpomainied with abdominal pain and urganecy the bowel movement is loose and contains what looks like corn. What's weird is I have not eaten corn. Does anyone know what this could be? Answered by Leoma Lungsford 1 year ago.
It could be that the food you recently ate was really spicy or acidic. This would cause the symptoms you have. (I've had them myself and it was always the result of eating a lot of spicy food after having nothing on my stomach all day.) You'd be surprised at what some of the spicy food has in it -- corn is very possibly one of the items in a taco or burrito or taco salad, for instance... Try taking something that counteracts the acid in your stomach. (I use "Tagamet HB 200") And cut back on spicy food for awhile to see if that alleviates the symptoms. If the symptoms increase or get more painful, then I suggest you talk to your physician about it. Answered by Belkis Vaneyck 1 year ago.
IT is the gas that is trying to pass through your stomach as well. The poo is trying to make its way down the intestine and also accompanied with that is alot of gas AKA farts. When they are both trying to release then you get gas pains and sometimes they really hurt cause your body is building up pressure in the intestine. Imagine that for days and thats almost what it is like to be a woman with her period. Answered by Benton Arif 1 year ago.
