Does anyone take this drug, Sulfasalazine?
I have been on Sulfasalazine (generic for Azulfidine) for years off and on for Ulcerative Colitis, my disease is very mild but I noticed last year that I started to get headaches and now they have got worse. Does anyone else have headaches with this drug? I appreciate your answers.

The most common side effect is nausea but often this can be controlled by a reduction in dose. Sometimes other medications may be needed. Occasionally mouth ulcers, a sore mouth or loose bowel motions may occur. Certain patients may develop a headache or slight dizziness but adjusting the dosage may bring things under control. Please see the webpages for more details on Sulfasalazine (generic name) Azulfidine (brand name) Answered by Zulema Degregorio 4 months ago.

Her vet said her stool had some blood in it and there was irritation around and inside her anus. Answered by Sid Gandhi 4 months ago.
Sulfasalazine indication (Azulfidine EN-Tabs)?
Asked by Melvina Cieszynski 4 months ago.
It is indicated for treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, including ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. It is also effective in several types of arthritis, particularly rheumatoid arthritis. It's not indicated for urinary problems, in fact, it is contraindicated with urinary obstruction. Answered by Elane Frondorf 4 months ago.

Can I give my dog sulfasalazine for bronchitis?
I have some leftover sulfasalazine from my other dog. I'm almost positive that my dog has chronic bronchitis from what I've read on line. I'm wondering if this drug would help him.
Asked by Effie Petrillo 4 months ago.
NO. You could kill your dog just randomly giving it "whatever" you think could be right and if it is something different especially it could make your dog much more sick. Just because it matches the symptoms doesn't mean that it is the same thing. You could very well be missing things that a trained vet would see that would make a serious difference in diagnosis. Giving your dogs "leftover" meds just because they are convenient is VERY dangerous. Call your vet- make an appointment. Answered by Tula Younge 4 months ago.
