Important information about Soma This medication may be habit-forming and should be used only by the person it was prescribed for. Soma should never be given to another person, especially someone who has a history of drug abuse or addiction. Keep the medication in a secure place where others cannot get to it. You may have withdrawal symptoms when you stop using Soma after using it over a long period of time. Do not stop using Soma suddenly without first talking to your doctor. You may need to use less and less before you stop the medication completely. Soma can cause side effects that may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be awake and alert. Avoid drinking alcohol. It can increase drowsiness and dizziness caused by Soma. Has anyone ever taken the muscle relaxant, Soma?
I just got a script for Soma due to low back pain. I've been hearing from people that it's a very strong drug and I'm not a fan of taking meds. I'm kinda apprehensive to take it. Any experiences with Soma? I believe I have the lowest dose. Asked by Mui Belcourt 1 year ago.

Soma (Carisoprodol) is considered a quite strong skeletal muscle relaxant. It's side-effects are minimal, more likely to those who are Soma-tolerant. When using medications such as this one, take caution when doing things such as driving or working with anything dangerous (machinery, electronics etc.). Soma is bound to make you tired and possibly sluggish. It does indeed help with low back pain. I suffer from the same thing - one surgery down, one to go. It's a viscious circle...but we're not talking about me ;-) If you're in pain, take the meds. Your doc prescribed it to you after receiving a medical work-up and history and made the decision to put you on Soma. He weighed the risks versus the benefits and made the decision he did. I hope you feel better. PS: I've been on Soma for the past two years. It'll help atleast somewhat. S.C. Answered by Lydia Citrano 1 year ago.

If your not used to taking meds I would tell you not to plan on doing anything after you take it you will sleep and feel tired the rest of the day but if that's what it takes is rest to get your back better than there is no problem. If your really worried and live alone make sure someone calls you every couple of hours to check on you. Answered by Kenyetta Lauinger 1 year ago.

What does Soma mean.?
Asked by Vince Unger 1 year ago.

Soma was a god of Hinduism, associated with the underworld. It was also a ritual drink among the early Indo-Iranians, Vedic and Persian cultures. It was supposed to have energizing qualities, in contrast to later uses of the word, where it has the opposite effect. In Aldous Huxley's Brave New World, Soma is a drug used by the government to control the masses, ensuring a compliant workforce and quelling rebellion. It is also, ironically, a popular pharmaceutical muscle relaxant, proving the theory that no one reads books anymore. Answered by Audrey Sissel 1 year ago.

Drug Name Soma (Carisoprodol) Drug Uses Soma is a muscle relaxant used to relieve the pain and stiffness of muscle spasms and discomfort due to strain and sprain. How Taken The usual adult dosage of soma is one 350 mg tablet, three times daily and at bedtime. Usage in patients under age 12 is not recommended. It is recommended that you take Soma with food, or with milk, to minimize the likelihood that you will suffer an upset stomach as a result of taking the medication. Drug Class and Mechanism Soma is a muscle relaxant. It acts by blocking electrical communication among nerves in the reticular formation of the brain and in the spinal cord. Missed Dose If you miss a Soma dose, take it as soon as remembered if it is within an hour or so. If you do not remember until later, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not 'double-up' the Soma dose to catch up. Storage Store at controlled room temperature 15 - 30 degrees C (59 degrees F). Dispense in a tight container. Answered by Lucien Goodiel 1 year ago.
