Has anyone ever used 'Reglan' for nausea during pregnancy?
My doctor is calling this into my pharmacy right now. I read online that side effects may include 'nausea'. Really? Then what's the point?! I'd like to know if anyone else used it while pregnant and if it helped. Thanks! Asked by Tona Yaklin 1 year ago.

I took reglan before I was even pregnant and have continued taking it on and off during my pregnancy (i'm now 31 weeks). I've seen "nausea" printed on the "side effects" section of the little leaflet that i get at the pharmacy with my prescription. I asked the pharmacist about it once just because it amused me (i have never had reglan CAUSE nausea before). She said that the makers of the medicine just had to put that in there as a side effect because of the way clinical testing is run. They give people the medicine to take (usually people who present the symptoms that the medicine is used to treat such as nausea, gastroperesis, etc) and then they ask the people to report every aspect of how they feel afterward. Some people, unfortunately, still have nausea even after taking the medicine. This is not because reglan caused the nausea, but because it didn't work on their nausea. If a certain amount of people report the feeling of nausea after taking the medication, they must report it as a side effect. Hope that makes sense! I have noticed this on my migraine medicine as well... Reglan doesn't always work like a miracle drug for everyone, but for me it does. the only downside is that it makes me drowsy so I ususally try to take it at night or when i can take a nap. Answered by Warner Zulkowski 1 year ago.

I used Reglan, and it definitely helped. It didn't take away my morning sickness altogether, but it eased it so I could keep some food down. Good luck! Answered by Keva Vawter 1 year ago.

I cried in the course of intercourse and it was once due to the fact that I felt so susceptible; scared to consider so well realizing I would once more be harm such a lot, so I understand what you imply. And sure, I am nonetheless with this guy who understood the tears and held me near and kissed the tears from my face. Answered by Angela Souvannakhiry 1 year ago.

I took it and had an anxiety attack and stopped taking it immediately... Answered by Wan Peaslee 1 year ago.

Reglan (metoclopramide) during pregnancy?
Has anyone taken this for nausea? I was prescribed this last week but am hesitant to take anything (including Tylenol). I did take it twice, so far, and it seems to knock out the nausea completely. I read it was not known whether it was safe to use during pregnancy or not. My nausea isn't "that"... Asked by Joe Ohlensehlen 1 year ago.

I read it was not known whether it was safe to use during pregnancy or not. My nausea isn't "that" bad. Your experience with this medications? [Almost 9 weeks pregnant with number 2.] Answered by Rosalva Britain 1 year ago.

Reglan is rated a "B" as far as medications go during pregnancy. That means it's probably safe, and has been used extensively with no known adverse effects to the fetus. You won't ever find any "definite" information on whether or not a particular drug is safe to take during pregnancy, because obviously it's too risky to perform experiments and tests when a woman is carrying a child. However...I was also prescribed Reglan, and my nausea and vomiting was quite bad at 5 weeks. I took it twice. The first time I took it, I didn't think it did much more than make me super tired (I literally felt drugged). The second time I took it, I had an allergic reaction. I had uncontrollable muscle spasms for six hours in my arms and neck. Luckily my baby was unharmed, and my neurological exam checked out fine, so all was okay. Most of my problem stemmed from outrageous heartburn anyway, so the doctor said just to take Pepcid AC (which is also rated a "B"). I hope you have much better luck with this medication than I did. Answered by Misti Mittelstedt 1 year ago.

It's fantastic! I don't know anyone that has had a bad experience with this or their child for that matter. If you are able to function on it, eat/drink what you are supposed to, take it. You know your nausea is bad when they put you on Zofran. Look at this as a step down from that. Zofran is a bit more fantastic. Answered by Danyel Nicklous 1 year ago.

I took it and it helped me. I took it for a few weeks. I had no problems at all. The nausea didn't completely stop for me until i was about 6 months. Answered by Minna Manaois 1 year ago.

Has anyone had any experience with reglan?
Asked by Lenita Hofer 1 year ago.

I was prescribed Reglan to control chronic nausea due to Diabetic Neuropathic Gastro Paresis. This med actually causes nausea. Inhaled cannabis vapors is the most effective form of nausea control with the safest toxicity record of any other drug. Marinol 5 or 10 mg is next. At age 54 and on disability, choose to use the most effective and safest form of nause/vomiting control, Medical Marijuana. All the listed meds like Reglan and others all have two thing's in common, they cause rather than control chronic nausea, and if enough is taken they are fatal. Reglan causes parkinson like shakes that are irreversible if used on a regular basis for extended periods of time. It is beyond common sense why the USA continues to prohibit the use of marijuana even in light of scientific and medical evidence as to its effectiveness and safety.. This is just a true example Answered by Katharina Tyms 1 year ago.

It isn't that hard to understand. There is a scattering of small studies and a huge pile of anecdotal evidence supporting the use of marijuana, but nothing that comes up to standard in terms of medical evidence. It also doesn't help to point out the potential adverse reactions to metoclopramide while ignoring those of marijuana. Unfortunately, the whole idea is so politicized that it's nearly impossible to make a valid comparison. Meanwhile, metoclopramide has been used widely and successfully for a couple of decades. My cat is being treated for vomiting using reglan. He has been doing nothing but meowing. He does have other issues going on but since on the meds has been acting WAY different than normal. I understand it is hard and takes some time to figure out if your pet is in pain or if it's just a side effect from the meds, which I think that's what it is. I love my cat and just want to make sure I do the right things for him. It's sad but I know from the problem he has I am going to be forced to make the decision to put him to sleep eventually. I didn't want to get into it but his stomach and bowel are out of place and making things a bit difficult for him off and on. I need help and support to get myself and my best kitty ever through this. Answered by Jarrett Plouffe 1 year ago.

They could also do an ultrasound but it will pretty much tell us the same story as the xray has just a little more detailed. The other option is to treat him symptomatically. Last is to euthanize him :(. I am having such a hard time with this. I know this is all part of the circle of life but it's a hard decision to make when you love your pet so much. I am sure lots of you have been through this and know where I stand. Answered by Fern Cunas 1 year ago.

Reglan can make a cat anxious and frenzied. I am posting a link to its use in cats, and side effects. I am sorry for the anguish you are going through. In the second link, the vet suggests Reglan is not all that effective in cats, and suggests a different drug. That is something to ask your vet about. But the vet also stated: For vomiting in cats, I generally usually use metoclopramide (Reglan) only if a promotility effect is desired. Are you dealing with megacolon? There are specific approaches if that is the case, and cats can live long lives with that condition. Answered by Sina Derienzo 1 year ago.

The reglan may be affecting him as you mentioned. It can have awful side effects in people too and they're not uncommon, unfortunately. I would ask your vet if there's another medication you can try. I'm assuming you've already done the bloodwork and x-rays to rule out known causes of vomiting? It's best to get to the rootof the problem and treat that rather than just treating symptoms. But yeah, if you've already done the digging and can't find any issues, ask if there's another medication he can try. Good luck! Answered by Graciela Sepulbeda 1 year ago.

Cursing, COME OUT HERE!!, watch out!, ur annoying me, kids down the street are annoying me, but most hilarious is when my dog started barking this wolfish bark while a guy was going down the street singing she started "singing" with him! :) Answered by Shawn Castiola 1 year ago.

Good luck! Answered by Margarito Massoud 1 year ago.

Has anyone ever used 'Reglan' for nausea during pregnancy?
My doctor is calling this into my pharmacy right now. I read online that side effects may include 'nausea'. Really? Then what's the point?! I'd like to know if anyone else used it while pregnant and if it helped. Thanks! Asked by Cassie Kaunisto 1 year ago.

Answered by Ashli Partain 1 year ago.

Answered by Carolee Koestner 1 year ago.

I took it and it helped me. I took it for a few weeks. I had no problems at all. The nausea didn't completely stop for me until i was about 6 months. Answered by Constance Olinghouse 1 year ago.

Has anyone had any experience with reglan?
Asked by Tambra Skoczylas 1 year ago.

This is just a true example Answered by Shauna Frink 1 year ago.
