People taking portia 28 day BCP?
because i just heard today that you had to wait a week i was always told it was affective first time you take it Asked by Chae Burdette 5 months ago.

ok i started taking portia last sunday so ive been on it for 6 days and started having unprotected sex the 2nd day i was on it then forgot to take it the 3rd day but took 2 pills the 4th day and have had unprotected sex 4 days out of the 6 that ive been on it so does that mean i could have gotten pregnant? i heard you had to wait a week before it worked??????????????? Answered by Calvin Griego 5 months ago.

You definitely could be pregnant. You are supposed to wait a FULL pack. Answered by Rasheeda Policare 5 months ago.

If you knew you had to wait a week before it worked, why would you have unprotected sex before then? That's your own mistake, isn't it? From that information, you can't know for sure if you're pregnant just yet, but you certainly shouldn't be surprised if in a week or so you find out that you are. Birth control side effects?
I started taking birth control (portia 28 pack) two days ago and about 2 - 3 hours ago I got kinda a shortness of breath I'm goin to the doctors tmro but I'm wondering should I take my bc pill tmro anyways or not Asked by Janessa Coslow 5 months ago.

That doesn't sound like it has anything in common with birth control effects, so yes you would be fine taking you're pill unless you just feel too uneasy about it then wait to see what your doctor says. :) Answered by April Lappas 5 months ago.

This was 15 years ago, but when I went on the pill my doctor told me to use back-up protection for the first month. Anytime you misuse birth control, there is a possibility of conception. All you can do is wait until your period is late to test. Answered by Murray Lipoma 5 months ago.

My gyno gave me Portia 28 for birth control, it has 21 active pink pills and 7 inactive white pills. She said start the pink pills the day I get my period. But I was reading about it online, and it said that you're supposed to take the pink active pills for 84 days before you take the inactive white pills, so you only have 4 periods a year. My gyno didn't say anything about taking it for 84 days, and my pharmacy only gave me one pack (I have 5 refills) so I only have 21 pink pills right now. Is the 84 days suggestion only if you want less periods a year? I'm going to call my gyno and ask, but I wanted to get some input here first. Answered by Renato Kowallis 5 months ago.

I don't know anything about this pill but it sounds like your doctor has put you on a 28 day version instead of the 84 day version. If you want the 84, call and see about getting your prescription changed. Answered by Fausto Meredith 5 months ago.

Birth manage capsules preclude being pregnant via a couple of mechanisms, by and large with the aid of stopping ovulation. If no egg is launched, there is nothing to be fertilized by way of sperm, and the woman are not able to get pregnant. Most birth manipulate pills incorporate synthetic forms of two female hormones: estrogen and progesterone. These synthetic hormones stabilize a girl's usual hormone phases, and prevent estrogen from peaking mid-cycle. With out the estrogen bump, the pituitary gland does now not unlock different hormones that commonly rationale the ovaries to free up mature eggs. Answered by Edna Hammerlund 5 months ago.

it's true that the pill isn't immediately effective, and is not effective if you forget to take it for a day. Doubling up on the pill won't do anything to help undo previous nights actions-it's also generally not a good idea to take too much of any medication, I wouldn't advise doubling up on the pill again. The odds of a couple trying to get pregnant and doing everything right actually succeeding are less then 25% per cycle, so your odds are defiantly less then that. How much less depends on rather you were ovulating, If you had sex 14 days after your period then your odds are kind of high (obviously less then 25 though) if you had sex the day before/after your period then your odds are pretty low. Your odds are probably 15-20 percent (very rough estimate) if you you were having sex close to the 14 days after your period mark, with the odds decreasing the further you are from that 14 day mark of peak fertility. To know for certain you will have to wait to see if you next period is delayed. You can also watch for signs such as weight gain, fatigue, soreness/sensitivity of the nipples, head/back ache, and vaginal spotting which can indicate a pregnancy. If your period does turn out to be late give it a few days and if it doesn't come get a home pregnancy test to be certain. If you want to be certain you could try the Plan B (or morning after pill). Of course the morning after pill cost 70+ and requires someone 17 or older to purchase it. I don't know if that is really an option for you, I've given you the odds it's up to you to decide what you do about it. The morning after pill is only effective if taken say 5 days after intercourse, so if you do decide to do it take it immediately. "the pill" only has about an 86% effectiveness in 'real life'. This is primarily due to drug misuse, such as forgetting to take the pill or having sex too soon after starting to take it. To be certain a pregnancy does not occur try using a condom as well as the pill. This significantly decreases the risk of pregnancy, and it also protects against STD-which the pill can't do. Answered by Kristina Textor 5 months ago.

You should never have unprotected sex unless you are trying to get pregnant, birth control or not. the hormones in birth control can take a few weeks to start working with your body well enough to protect against pregnancy. Sometimes it can take less time, the general rule is one week. You have a pretty decent chance of being pregnant... I would wait about 3-4 weeks and take a pregnancy test. In the future, do some research about the drugs you are taking and be smart about protecting yourself. Answered by Julio Galavis 5 months ago.

Regular touch lenses had been round a long time and coloured lenses had been round for relatively a while, too. There isn't any purpose to worry. The black facet of the attention is referred to as the scholar. If you contact it it may not topic. Anyhow, with touch lenses your finger is not going to contact the scholar due to the fact that your finger will likely be at the reverse part of the touch lenses. Still it would not topic even supposing you touched it along with your bare finger. So, do not fear, be completely satisfied, appear larger and spot larger with the ones touch lenses. Am I still protected although I had condomless sex less than 7 days after starting the pill?
I started using the pill (Portia, 28 days) two months ago, finished a pack, and then stopped for about a month. Unfortunately if you didn't wait the 7 days you were not protected from getting pregnant. If you decide to follow the website's instructions just take the 4 pills on each day like it says. If you've already taken 1 today, take 3 more and then 4 more in 12 hours. Your window of time to decide what to do is running out. If it were me, I would go seek out the morning after pill. That way there would be more peace of mind. Good Luck Answered by Paulette Broomfield 5 months ago.

you will get pregnant in case you ovulate early. It take the time for the pills to artwork. Your eggs start up turning out to be to ovulate for this new cycle beginning on the 1st day of your era. in case you have a classic cycle of 28 days, this suggests which you will possibly desire to ovulate on cycle day 14. for the reason which you're actually not taking any pills for the duration of your era, the follicles can get a super gamble to enhance and if one develops completely beforehand you have been on the pill for a week, you may ovulate. that's achieveable which you will are turning out to be pregnant from unprotected intercourse in the 1st week of the pills. yet for the reason which you started the pills some days early, you possibly would be secure this cycle. I've been on birth control pills for about 4 months now. I take portia 28 pack. I want to have unprotected sex with my boyfriend of 8 months, but I was wondering if it was safe. I never had it unprotected before, so I don't know what its like. I usually take my pills around the same time everyday. I only missed 1 but took it as soon as I remembered. I sometimes take two advils if I have a headache. Does that whipe out the pills effectiveness? I honestly can't handle a child right now. However, I was thinking about using spermicide while having unprotected sex (meaning no condom). My question is, whoever is on the pill- has taking birth control pills helped prevent pregnancy? I read on here about people being on the pill and still getting pregnant. I don't know what their full story was and if they took their pills on time... I know nothing is 100% effective. But for those of you who took your pills CORRECTLY, is the pill pretty good with preventing pregnancy? Also what should I expect? Is it a good idea to use spermicide while on the pill as extra protection? Please, don't try to scare me either! Just a simple question. Thanks! :) Answered by Concepcion Degen 5 months ago.

But for those of you who took your pills CORRECTLY, is the pill pretty good with preventing pregnancy? Yes, I took birth control pills for 10 years correctly and never even had a 'scare' of pregnancy. Also what should I expect? Feels a little different. Have a towel handy as his semen will run out of you after and his scent will mix with your scent and it may smell odd too you. Is it a good idea to use spermicide while on the pill as extra protection? If it makes you feel better. Answered by Victoria Sweis 5 months ago.

You should be fine if you take your pill at the same time everyday. Stories of women getting pregnant while on the pill they usually forgot to take it or where taking some medication that ruined the pills effectiveness. Advil would not diminish the effectiveness. As far as spermicides are concerned they have to used with something like a diaphragm or condom. I have not heard of using spermicide alone. Also one other bit of advice. Put a towel under you because when he withdraws from you you definitely will leak and you don't want to get your sheets wet. Answered by Mariko Cuchares 5 months ago.

I have been on birth control for 6 years and once I started birth control my boyfriend (husband now) has never used protection. Of course nothing is 100% effective, but if you take your pills everyday and around the same time then you should be fine. Advil doesn't effect your birth control. Only antibiotics...have you taken any antibiotics lately? If so, you still need to use protection. I have never used spermicide so I don't have any advice on that. Don't expect your boyfriend to last as long :) Answered by Shara Mcclaim 5 months ago.

I'm on birth control and for the most part use it correctly. I never use a condom and he finishes inside of me, without the use of spermicide. I'm not pregnant yet. Yes, there is a small chance of getting pregnant and the chance of getting a STD or HIV, but as long as you know your boyfriend is clean and you take your pills correctly then you should be alright. Answered by Palmer Cashett 5 months ago.

Their is still a chance of pregnany but you should remember one main thing taking the pill does not prevent Stds in any way. Only condoms and designed tho help prevent stds because they keep boldly fluids from making contact which causes stds And for the religious nuts don't be pushing your beliefs on others its not your job and you don't have a right to tell people what to say do or think. Not everyone believes in god and that's their business. Even though the bible says its a sin the bible also says that one shouldn't push their faith an that god forgives so get another hobby. Answered by Candance Thoen 5 months ago.

My daughter has 3 friends who got pregnant on the pil not taking it exactly on time. You have to take it every day at the exact same time or the medication in it dips and you can get pregnant. You should ask your pharmacist regarding your specific brand of pill what drugs interact with it. Condoms are a great back up for pregnancy and STDs. The feeling of not using condoms is a bigger deal for a guy than the girl. Its not worth the risk. Answered by Blanch Contrera 5 months ago.

If you cannot handle the consequences that come with sex, then don't have it. You put a man's reproductive organ into a woman's for the sole purpose of making a child. The pill alone is only 95% effective. My sister has three children. Two she got pregnant with on the pill (used daily) and one she got pregnant with on Mirena (Interuterine device). the best way to prevent pregnancy is to not have sex. And the first answerer is correct, you shouldn't be having pre-marital sex. Close your legs and repent. Answered by Jerri Pilley 5 months ago.

so i should of gotten my period on this months sugar pills or next months? and i didnt know that i havnt used any back up while on it i thought it worked when you started taking it?? Asked by Francis Marello 5 months ago.

ok my last normal period that came on time and everything started on march 17th and ended march 21st then that sunday the day of my last period i started portia 28 day cycle birth control then a week and 4 days into the pack i started what seemed to be a period that was light spotting at first then got heavy then stopped in 5 days like my normal period now im on the 4th "sugar" pill and havnt had a period so when would i get my next period? the middle of the next pack or the week of the sugar pills in the next pack? my periods usually come every 21-26 days Answered by Brittanie Werra 5 months ago.

Sometimes it takes your body a little while to adapt to birth control pills. Your period should start when you take the sugar pills. Is it possible that you are pregnant? The first month you take birth control pills, they are not as affective and should be used with some other form of contraceptive. I would take a pregnancy test just to rule it out. If you are I would of course immediately stop taking the pills. Good luck! Answered by Connie Uy 5 months ago.

it worked for me for 3 years with no problem and then all of the sudden (never missed a pill and took them at the same time and not on antibiotics) i end up pregnant. when i went to the doctor she said about 80% of her cases where birth control failed with no clear reason, the women were on ortho tri cyclen lo. i would recommend talking to your doctor about a different method. maybe just a different pill if you prefer taking the pill. hope i helped a little.
