Can u fail a drug test by taking muscle relaxers?
i get random drug tests and i was wondering if taking muscle relaxers were safe to pass Asked by Lorrine Maly 1 year ago.

If you have a prescription, it won't be a problem even if it is tested for. Most muscle relaxants includingParafon Forte DSC (chlorzoxazone), Skelaxin (metaxalone), Dantrium (dantrolene), Flexeril, Amrix, Fexmid (cyclobenzaprine), Norflex (orphenadrine), Robaxin (methocarbamol), Zanaflex (tizanidine), and Lioresal (baclofen) are NOT controlled substances and are not tested for in drug tests. However Valium (diazepam), a benzodiazepine, may be tested for and it is a schedule IV controlled substance. Other benzodiazepines like Ativan (lorazepam), Klonopin, Rivotril (clonazepam) are also sometimes used as muscle relaxants and, like Valium, may be tested for. Also the drug Soma (carisoprodol) is sometimes tested for but it is uncommon. Soma is a not a federally controlled substance in The US however many states list it as a schedule IV drug. Valium For Muscle Spasm?
Im one month post cast from a trimallelor fracture (compound OUCh) Was wondering if its OK to ask my GP for a script of Valium since i still have painful muscle spams?! ( I just read that valium is habit forming so docs dont like to write it.. Is there any alternative medication ?! Asked by Gale Firman 1 year ago.

Just talk to your doctor and tell him that you have been having painful muscle spasms. There are a number of muscle relaxants including: Zanaflex (tizanidine) Norflex (orphenadrine) Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) Soma (carisoprodol)- a controlled substance in some US states Soma Compound (carisoprodol/aspirin)- a controlled substance in some US states Soma Compound with Codeine (carisoprodol/aspirin/codeine)- a schedule III controlled substance Valium (diazepam)- schedule IV controlled substance Miltown (meprobamate)- a schedule IV controlled substance There is very limited or inconsistent data regarding the effectiveness of the following Parafon Forte DSC (chlorzoxazone) Robaxin (methocarbamol) Skelaxin (metaxalone) Dantrium (dantrolene) Lioresal (baclofen) Granted Valium (diazepam) does have a potential for abuse but in some cases it is the best medication and it is a massive overgeneralization that doctors don't like to prescribe it. Since muscle relaxants are typically used for a short time and since Valium so extremely effective and it tends to have few side effects and is well tolerated it is often prescribed. Although in general Flexeril and Soma are the most commonly used medications and both are typically very effective. In some cases it can take a couple of tries to find the best medication especially since not all muscle relaxants work in the same way. So just see what your doctor says and try his recommendation. Answered by Teodoro Cummer 1 year ago.

Just tell the doc that you are having spasms. Let them decide what medication you need. There are nonhabit - forming muscle relaxants. Answered by Deloras Lebleu 1 year ago.

Be cautious with any of the drugs to relieve muscle problems many---many --- many people get hooked on these try instead to accomplish physical adjustments--- Answered by Angelic Crasco 1 year ago.

I hope a REAL medical professional would answer this question. Internal medicine preferred or specialist. In the last 3 weeks I have had the flu, and norovirus. I am healed of those but the fatigue and the EXTREME body aches, headaches and a temp for over 4 days now running in the low 96's. I have the chills and then 2 minutes later I'm on fire even though my temp at it's highest is 74.4. PLEASE help me with some answers. I have seen my PCP today and he was sure it was sepsis, which scared me to death. My stat blood test came back this evening as "CBC just reported and your white count is normal at 7.4 platelets good at 400 no sepsis. No more lab till tomorrow" quoted by my doctor via text. I was RELIEVED to hear no sepsis at this point because he said to just plan to be in the ICU tonight. I am still miserable. They had give me a rocephin shot. Backing up a bit, when I had the flu (2/10/13) they had given me tamiflu at urgent care. I had been on ceftin for 7 days prior to all this from a chronic sinus infection. They did a head xray at urgent care on the same day and saw that I had a severe bilateral sinus infection STILL. (sinus infections have plagued me as a child since my first sinus surgery at at 5 - I am 44 now - and had another at at age 7 and 42. I had an ethmoidal(sp?) tumor in 1996 that suddenly went away 24 hours before surgery. PRAISE GOD. The doctors were mystified. Here are my current diagnosed medical problems.....Bicuspid Aortic Valve w/raphae, Mitro Valve Prolapse, Advanced stage emphysema, Asthma, Myotonia congentia Muscular Dystrophy, Migraines, Sciatica, Kidney Stones (3 on left kidney and 2 on right - most measuring 3.3mm), chronic sinusitis w/deviated septum, chronic sinus infections, arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and endometreosis, bone spurs under my right knee. My medications I am currently on are: Soma 350 mg - tid, Parafon Forte DSC 500mg - qid, Diazapam 5mg - qid, Fioricet 50/235/40mg - qid, Oxycodone 15mg immediate release 1/12 tabs - qid, Restoril 45mg - at bed, Levaquin 750mg (new Rx again) for 10 days - once daily for 10 days, Cholorestramine Powder -ad lib, Omneprazole Rx - bid, Tudorza Pressair - bid, Nasonex - bid, Nitroglycerine - prn, (OTC meds - Vitamin D (had blood tests coming back as ZERO0 5,000 untis a day, Musconex D - qid for now, Lavi Saline - tid, Centum Mutilvitaimn - 1 daily) My latest complains to my doctor prior to this (3 years running now with no answers) were extreme inner bone pain, EXTREME and debilitating pain in the back of my right thigh that is deeper than muscle, feels more in the bone (My TENS unit has not helped with this much at all but I keep trying. Severe pain in my side kind of where my gall bladder was removed but a little more to the left, upper c spine pain where one of my arms go numb and they other feels like FIRE has been set to it, and overall joint pain (I was once diagnoses with Rheumatoid Arthritis) Prior surgeries: Sinus Surgery to correct vicarious veins in my nose - 1975 Sinus Surgery again to correct same problem (very botched surgery) 1977 Foot surgery - 1981 Foot surgery - 1983 Abortion (16 weeks pregnant)at 15 with SEVERE complications (hospital stay from infection for almost 3 weeks - they left an arm up to the elbow and a leg knee to toes inside me - I don't believe in abortion anymore at all) -1986 Hit by a car/clavical reset - 1987 Ethmoidal tumor removal - 1996 MAJOR back surgery after a fall in Walmart while I was pregnant - (L3 to S1 fusion) 2004 Laparoscopy _ tubes tied/clips after having 4 healthy children - 2007 Gall Bladder Removal - (wish I would have NEVER had this done) 2008 Sinus Surgery - 1 of 2 corrective surgeries - 2009 Uterine Oblation - to correct multiple monthly periods and clots the size of oranges every month - successful surgery that I'm very happy with - 2012 I am 44 years old Weight: 115 lbs I don't drink or use drugs I'm just recently quitting smoking I drink 8-10 bottles of water a day and maybe 2 pepsi's I think that covers EVERYTHING. If there is something I have left out, please let me know. PLEASE HELP ME FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!!!!!!!!!!! I FEEL HELPLESS AND I'M MISERABLE AND HAVE BEEN MISERABLE FOR WEEEEEEEKS. My current temp is 96.6. (my normal by the way is 98.4) Answered by Jong Schnackenberg 1 year ago.

There are no doctors here and if someone says they are, I would not trust them. We are strangers on line. I would stick with my Dr. and make a list of your questions for him during your next visit. Answered by Donny Pleitez 1 year ago.

I experience this too sometimes, and I'm 13 years old. Maybe his teeth are growing, and that's why. Little kids like him get temperature from that. If tomorrow he is with the same temperature (96 to 98) then it's ok. Oh, 96 isn't really that normal, but from what I have seen, little girls (is it a girl) have lower temperatures. You can go to the GP anyway :) EDIT: T-Dawgins is right, altough I don't consider myself an idiot, but nobody here (almost) is medically qualified, neither am I, so you should really go to your doctor.
