Does Ortho Cept help acne?
I just got it prescribed and after reading some reviews I found that peoples skin got worse. Some got big bumps and others had extremely oily skin. My skin is already bad as it is. My doctor prescribed it because it would help with acne im just looking for some knowledge. Thanks! :)

Ortho Cept did not help me. I had to go on Accutane to get rid of my painful and persistent acne. I only had to do one treatment (many people in my family had to do up to Accutane 3x to lessen their Acne ... it is bad in my family). Accutane was the only thing that worked from me. I tried everything. Answered by Cammy Freier 1 month ago.

I was instructed to double up for two weeks and go back to regular habits but I have not stopped spotting and it is getting very annoying. Should I consider other forms of birth control or just hope that is subsides. I was supposed to take the pills for three months and then have a period 4 times a year. Will appreciate any advice and opinions. Answered by Connie Ashalintubbi 1 month ago.
Same here i was on ortho cept for 4 years and started spotting, it was because my body had gotten to used to the pill and wasn't sure when i was taking it and when i wasn't. They switched pills and put my on hormones but nothing worked except for going clean with no pills. And for 1 1/2 months i've had no breakthrough bleeding. Talk with your doctor some say it's just the pills and they may switch becuase of the hormone levels or they may take you off or do a different method. But right now mark the days your spotting or heavy bleeding so they know what your patterns have been. Hope this helps jl Answered by Goldie Eklov 1 month ago.

The doctor recommended it because it would a)help my acne which i didnt see much improvement in but it didnt get worse. and b)she said it wouldnt make me gain weight. i dont blame the pill for my weight gain but it has made me way hungry. My mom was put on Low-Ogestrel (we have a very similar bodies) and she lost weight and recommends me to go on it. Now here are my questions. Has anyone tried either one of the birth control pills and can you tell me side effects and whether you liked them or not? Second can i go to planned parenthood and just order the different pills or do i have to make an appointment, see the doctor again, and pay for a consult again? Thanks soo much to anyone that can help. Being a girl is so hard! <3 Answered by Colene Chiappari 1 month ago.

Answered by Allena Defenbaugh 1 month ago.
All birth control pills including Ortho-Cept (the generic for one also called Desogen) have the potential to cause weight gain which is mostly water. The average weight gain with the pill is about 5-10 lbs. The one pill that caused me to lose some weight was Yasmin but I only stayed on it for 6 months and then had to stop for two reasons: 1. had a hard time adjusting to it at the start and then 2. because of some issues with breakthrough bleeding. Answered by Regenia Tannehill 1 month ago.
I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time. The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life. Get started today! When I took Ortho-Cept years ago I did gain some weight but that weight is mostly water weight. The side effect can be noticed within the first week for some and others it may take a bit longer. However, I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say. Answered by Bebe Lancour 1 month ago.
