Does Keflex(Cephalexin) affect Loestrin 24 Fe birth controls?
I'm looking for experiences here please. Asked by Olinda Lam 2 months ago.

You didn't mention how old you are. I have been taking Loestrin 1/20 for MANY years now without issues. I am on the low dose because I am am 46 years old. I never take the last three pills (21 vs 24 pack) as it makes no sense to me to have my period for the Fri - Sun instead of Tues - Thurs. the 24 pack was a new invention to get a new patent.... Talk to your doctor at any rate but maybe you need a low dose pill or maybe you can't tolerate any pills at all. Answered by Emelda Huitron 2 months ago.

Help please, Birth control?
what are the white pills in Lo Loestrin Fe? and when will my period stop? this is my first month on this pill and i got my period a week before i should have, im wondering when is my period going to stop. will the white pills stop it? i know the brown ones are the iron pills. Asked by Debbi Corio 2 months ago.

Hope this can help you? Dosage Forms and Strengths Lo Loestrin Fe (norethindrone acetate and ethinyl estradiol tablets, ethinyl estradiol tablets and ferrous fumarate tablets) is available in blister packs. Each blister pack (28 tablets) contains in the following order: 24 blue, round (active) tablets imprinted with “WC” on one side and “421” on the other and each containing 1 mg norethindrone acetate and 10 mcg ethinyl estradiol. 2 white, hexagonal (active) tablets imprinted with “WC” on one side and “422” on the other and each containing 10 mcg ethinyl estradiol. 2 brown, round (non-hormonal placebo) tablets imprinted with “WC” on one side and “624” on the other and each containing 75 mg ferrous fumarate. The ferrous fumarate tablets do not serve any therapeutic purpose. Also, your period could have come early because your body is still getting used to the new birth control pill. I wouldn't worry too much, just give yourself some time to adjust. Answered by Sage Talsky 2 months ago.

I'd go with the IUD if I had been you. I had the Mirena IUD for three years, and have recently had it removed to try for youngster number 2. The IUD was painless to get in, I had it put in at my 6 week check up after my daughter used to be born. It is reliable to make use of if you're nursing your newborn, and it lasts for five years!!! Plus you do not ought to worry about tablets or something else. The one think I did not recognize once I acquired the Mirena is that's can take awhile in your menstral cycles to return to traditional after having the IUD removed. I had mine removed in December 2008, and previously couple months my cycles have in the end returned to natural, rather then that, I highly propose the IUD! Answered by Odelia Dawn 2 months ago.

Both types of pill contain 1 mg of norethindrone and 20 mcg of ethinyl estradiol each each tablet. The only difference is that Loestrin 24 contains 24 "active" pills and 4 "inactive" pills that contain 75 mg of ferrous fumarate (an iron supplement, basically like taking vitamins). The Loestrin 21 contains 21 "active" pills, and 7 "dummy" pills that contain nothing. Basically, the one you take has a shorter hormone cycle. If you miss two or more active pills, you may not have a period during the month. If you miss a period for two months in a row, call your doctor because you might be pregnant. If you miss any reminder pills, throw them away and keep taking one pill per day until the pack is empty. You do not need back-up birth control if you miss a reminder pill. Lately, I have been experiencing noticeable depression which is very unlike me, and as I was reviewing the recent events in my life to pinpoint why I have felt so unhappy, I realized that about the same time I started feeling bad was when I started my birth control. I am taking Junel Fe and read that one of the side effects of it is birth control. If you have taken that birth control, please tell me if you had the same or similar experience please! Thanks so much! Answered by Cristen Recio 2 months ago.

Junel Fe is a combination of NORETHINDRONE,ETHINYL ESTRADIOL,FERROUS FUMARATE ..and should you experience depression or any mood changes as a probable/suspected side effect of any of its components DICTATES THAT YOU SHOULD STOP TAKING IT IMMEDIATELY and consult your gynecologist as soon as possible Answered by Karleen Antwine 2 months ago.

yeah, that is common for all hormonal birth control. once you start messing with hormones, you don't know exactly what effects they'll have on you. my experience with birth control resulted in decreased sex drive, weight gain, and some moodiness. i think my acne actually got better with the pill, and i don't have any random spotting. it's going to be different for each person, and if you really think the pill will help ease your periods, then take it. I probably should've mentioned that I am on Loestrin24Fe (norethindrone acetate and ethinyl estradiol tablets, USP and ferrous fumarate tablets) I mean, I have no idea what any of that means but maybe it'll help you guys help me better. Haha. Asked by Sherry Mondoux 2 months ago.

I've been on birth control for about 2 and a half months now. I don't normally get my period without birth control and when I do, it's only about a week and it's very light. For the past two weeks, I've had this light brownish discharge but it's minimal (not enough for a pad, only a liner) and it's been continuous for two weeks. I am sexually active but am only having sex with my boyfriend and we don't use condoms. Please help. I'd like to have a general idea of what's wrong before I go into my doctor's office in 2 weeks. Answered by Malinda Osucha 2 months ago.

If you are an a progestin only, then it is likely just breakthrough bleeding. (Benign) and will likely improve over then next several months. However, since it is continuous, it would be best to just see your doc b/c you need an exam. Wel breakthrough bleeding is not as common with that type of birth control. Given the proximity to when you started taking it, it seems as though it is likely related to your birth control (if you are not pregnant). You need an exam. I am predicting that your gyn will put you on a pill that has a higher estrogen content. (like 35mg as opposed to 20mg) Answered by Macie Tarbox 2 months ago.

Please help me if you can, it's sort of worrying me... :( I think the white ones only have estrogen in them, so would an extra dose mess with how well it's working?? Answered by So Zutell 2 months ago.

It's not dangerous but it could mess with how it's working. My amateur opinion is that it would still be effective as birth control because it's really the estrogen that keeps you from ovulating, not the progesterone so much, so the more estrogen, the less chance of ovulating. But if I were you, there's no way I'd listen to a random person on the internet with something so important. The standard recommendation is that if you mess up your birth control pills, you need to keep taking them, but even so use a backup birth control for the next 3 weeks. You could also take the morning after pill (which contains just progesterone). Answered by Millicent Cumming 2 months ago.

Loestrin 24 Fe, are they all the same dose?
I started Loestrin 24 fe about a week and a day ago. I started it on a Monday, so I started with the 2nd pill then on sunday I took the first pill. Is that okay, or does each pill have a different dose? Should I finish on this pattern or take Sunday's today and go in order? Asked by Domonique Cloud 2 months ago.

Loestrin® 24 Fe provides a dosage regimen consisting of 24 white progestogen-estrogen contraceptive tablets and 4 brown ferrous fumarate (placebo) tablets. Each white tablet contains 1 mg norethindrone acetate and 20 mcg ethinyl estradiol. Each brown tablet contains ferrous fumarate, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, povidone, sodium starch glycolate, and compressible sugar. The ferrous fumarate tablets do not serve any therapeutic purpose. So, as long as you take the white tablet you are recieving the same dosage no matter what day you take it until you reach the brown tablets. Just don't take a brown tablet instead of the white tablet because those are the placebo tablets. Answered by Salvatore Villescaz 2 months ago.

Differences in birth controls?
What is the difference between lo loestrin fe and loestrin? Is one just more effective? If so, which one? Asked by Caryl Lamboy 2 months ago.

Loestrin is a prescription oral contraceptive containing two different types of hormones: estrogen and progestin. The birth control pill prevents pregnancy by stopping ovulation and altering the lining of the uterus and cervical mucus. Loestrin comes in a pack of 21 tablets. Once you finish a pack, wait seven days before starting the next pack. Potential side effects include nausea, headache, and spotting. Loestrin® 24 Fe provides a dosage regimen consisting of 24 white progestogen-estrogen contraceptive tablets and 4 brown ferrous fumarate (placebo) tablets. Each white tablet contains 1 mg norethindrone acetate and 20 mcg ethinyl estradiol. Each white tablet also contains the following inactive ingredients: acacia, lactose, magnesium stearate, starch, confectioner’s sugar, and talc. Each brown tablet contains ferrous fumarate, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, povidone, sodium starch glycolate, and compressible sugar. The ferrous fumarate tablets do not serve any therapeutic purpose. The differences are the amount of active pills you take. The way you take the medication and the dosages are also different. Loestrin FE seems to be the more popular of the 2 but I do not know if it actually works any better. The side effects look to be the same. Answered by Miranda Sandona 2 months ago.

I need a new birth control pill?
I actually don't want to continue taking Loestrin. I'm going to talk to my gynocologist about this at my next appointment. However, I want people's opinion on the NAME of the birth control that they have taken and what the side effects are. Thanks! Asked by Barrett Koy 2 months ago.

I have been taking Loestrin 24e for just under a year. I have had a coupon that allowed me to get it for $24 per refill for 12 months. Since the 12 month period is over, I need a new, affordable birth control pill. I don't want to gain weight and I don't want to spend more than I'm spending now. I don't want an injection or a device installed in my vagina - I'm specifically looking for recommendations for a pill. Does anyone have first hand experience with a birth control pill with few side effects, no weight gain and is inexpensive? Answered by Whitney Whitsett 2 months ago.

If Loestrin 24e has been working for you then there is a way to continue the same exact medication but at the generic price. Loestrin 24e is Ethinyl estradiol 0.02 mg and norethindrone acetate 1 mg (28s) [24 white tablets] and ferrous fumarate 75 mg [4 brown tablets] Loestrin Fe 1/20 (generics - Microgestin™ Fe 1/20, Junel Fe 1/20) are Ethinyl estradiol 0.02 mg and norethindrone acetate 1 mg (28s) [21 white tablets] and ferrous fumarate 75 mg [7 brown tablets] The advantage of the 24e is supposed to be shorter lighter periods. But if you are disciplined then you can get a new prescription but for the Loestrin Fe 1/20 and buy an extra pack (without insurance its like $25 at most). Take the pack as normal but when you hit day 22, use a white tablet from the spare pack for days 22, 23, and 24... and on days 25 - 28 take the brown tablets from the regular pack.. I used Ortho Tricyclen for a while. I think it was like 10 or 12 bucks to refill. I didn't experience any weird side effects from it. Answered by Dale Liberati 2 months ago.
