Nizoral A-D, OTC shampoo. Answered by Hang Gowans 2 years ago.
If the shampoo your vet recommends does the trick, you'd be mad to bother with otc products which most likely won't work. Malaseb is probably one you should consider but you need to confirm why your dog is having skin problems first of all - a lot is caused by diet! Answered by Josephina Mullin 2 years ago.
Get a medicted dandruff shampoo. Dandruff is a general term that includes many conditions, but medicated dandruff shampoo is for dandruff causes by fungus. Or call your doctor's office. Answered by Glennis Huguet 2 years ago.

One is specific is Nixoral (azole anitfungals) Nizoral, Kuric, Nizoral A-D Xolegel (topical antifungal) Xolegel Corepak (for dermatitis) Xolegal Duo (topical antifungals) Triazolam (Halcion) Cisapride (Propusid) Also avoide antacids such as Tagamet, Pepcid, Axil, Zantec and other for at least two hours before and after you take your medication. You also need to ask your Dr. if this list is sufficient. Peace, Love & Happiness Answered by Halina Leyh 2 years ago.

Does it itch really bad? If so...i have just the solution, but it's going to be a little painful. Get that stuff called Nizoral A-D shampoo, with 1% ketoconazole. Apply it to your scalp, and work it in like you were trying to knead bread. Let it sit for like 5 min. Rinse it off, and repeat. Do this for a week. It should clear it up. Now, if you are itching like crazy and your scalp is red...then this is what i did..and i had it bad, but it worked ever since..i don't have it anymore. Take a comb and itch your scalp all over until you can feel your scalp bleed a little. Don't freak out..i'm not saying to cut yourself to death, but before you get in the shower...itch with it all over where you are infected to get all the dandruff and the spots that are infected. I want you to scratch as hard as you can exposing the skin as deep as possible to this shampoo. Once you do this, you work it in and after a week or so..i'm telling you it will be gone. If this does not solve the problem, then i suggest go and see a really good dermatoligist. Use alcohol free shampoo with dandruff protection afterwards. Any questions, e-mail me. Good luck! If over the counter products doesn't work for you, try getting prescription strength dandruff shampoo from your dermatologist. Answered by Sal Neher 2 years ago.
My boyfriend used to have bad dandruff but I started to buy him Selsun Blue Medicated with Menthol. It has been 5 months and he no longer has any dandruff. You should try it, Answered by Sydney Lunemann 2 years ago.
Some medications cause dandruff. If the tea tree oil and the head and shoulders don't work, see a dermatologist. You can get much stronger shampoos. Answered by Basil Hinshaw 2 years ago.
tea tree oil! it works wonders....go to the health food store, they will have it, and they may have it in shampoo form. paul mitchell makes a great tea tree shampoo and conditioner, and it smells great too, like menthol, and gives the scalp the best relief! also, neutrogena t-gel is supposed to help a lot, but it doesn't smell that great. good luck!
