Has anyone used Nicorette gum to stop smoking and if so, were you successful at staying quit?
Asked by Shawna Almeida 1 year ago.

In January I will have been an ex smoker for four years. I used Nicorette mint gum. I liked it because I could chew it whenever I wanted a cigarette. And I would chew a piece for 30 minutes sometime. It really helped with the craving and the oral need. I drank a lot of water, cleaned house and washed the nicotine smell out of my clothes. Previously, I had tried to quit but I was too nervous not to have "emergency" cigarettes on hand. The successful time, I took what I had in a pack (about 6) and wrapped tape around the pack, sealing the cigarettes inside. I put the wrapped up pack in the back of a cabinet in the laundry room. I knew if I had a total meltdown, I had emergency cigarettes around. I could also not be around people who were smoking for about the first year. If people really care about you they want you to quit and will encourage you. My partner died of pneumonia aggravated by his smoking. Another friend of mine had a lung removed before she quit. I did not want to die like that. Good luck. Answered by Blair Mcguff 1 year ago.

What regular gum is most like Nicorette gum?
I have also never heard of Pur Gum or GleeGum. Maybe because I'm in Canada. I have ordered three different flavours of Spry gum from the Vitacost website to give it a try. It would be nice if Nicorette made a matching gum with no nicotine. Asked by Erin Hartse 1 year ago.

I have quit smoking, and now wish to wean myself off of the nicotine gum. I would like to gradually replace the nicotine gum with regular gum. I have tried several different types of gum, but find the taste/texture/stickiness differ too much from what I've grown accustom. Most gum I've tried is far too sticky. Does anybody know which gum is most like the Nicorette mint gum? I would prefer a gum that does not contain aspartame. Sugar is fine, but seems rare. Answered by Emmaline November 1 year ago.

Regarding Spry gum, Thank you for the suggestion. It does not appear to be available in my area (I tried several stores and the Spry website, all of their local retailer suggestions do not carry the gum). A quick search did find the gum available for purchase online. As such, I would not have ever found the gum without your suggestion. As an aside... Either society has become a bit too dependent on the internet, or aspartame is a bit too common, when required to use the internet to buy gum that does not contain aspartame. Answered by Natosha Mckibbin 1 year ago.

Try Spry. Sweetened with xylitol, so tastes more like real sugar than a vaguely poisonous fake sugar taste. Most artificial sweeteners give me migraines and stevia tastes like battery acid, but xylitol tastes sweet and kind of cold, like glycerin or mint candies. Plus Spry is little tough and chewy rather than soft and yielding. It's got a "bounce" to it rather than smooshing between your teeth. It's expensive for gum, but probably much cheaper than Nicorette. Answered by Micah Cuthrell 1 year ago.

My boyfriend just quit smoking cigarettes and he has been smoking for over 10 years. He used the patches for a few months and now he doesn't smoke anymore. I've heard that the gum can actually be really habit forming and you can become addicted. Maybe you should try the patches. There is also a prescription medication you can get, that I've heard works really well. It's called bupropion (brand name is Wellbutrin). I hope this helps! Good luck! Answered by Augustine Stapley 1 year ago.

You could try Pur Gum or the sugar-free GleeGum. Both contain xylitol as its sweetener. Good luck! Answered by Raina Teichert 1 year ago.

Nicorette gum?
does anyone know how much nicorette gum costs?and does it really work?also is it good for you to try to quit smokin with that or is the gum harmful Asked by Xochitl Ruggieri 1 year ago.

First of all, if you really, really want to quit smoking, you don't need anything to help you. You HAVE to really want it. If you don't feel you can do it and want some help, then I would recommend the nicorette gum. The flavor has improved since it first came out. There is 4mg and 2mg and there are several flavors. The best are FRESH MINT and FRUIT CHILL and they taste pretty good. It really helped me quit. It is very expensive ($56 for 100 pieces in Duane Reade) but you can find great deals on eBay. I don't know if the gum is harmful. You can ask your doctor. Find online support like www.whyquit.com. I wish you the best and GOOD LUCK! Answered by Candi Ungaro 1 year ago.

The Nicorette Gum does have nicotine in it. I don't think this stuff really works. A long time ago I tried it and the taste of the stuff was so horrible that I had to smoke to get the taste out of my mouth. If you are not pregnant, you might want to try Smoke Away. You can buy it just about everywhere and the have a neat online support group too. You can join the support group even if you don't quit with there product. I smoked for ten years and quit with Smoke Away. I haven't had a smoke in 2.5 years. Good luck to you in your quit. Answered by Carmon Aeling 1 year ago.

my girlfriend tried it. it costs like 50 bucks for a months worth or something, its kinda expensive, but if you dont smoke cigs during that time, the price will be about the same you'd spend on cigs during that time. it didnt work for her because she just had a hard time using it correctly. you have to like make sure you dont eat anything an hour before chewing it, and then when you chew it you need to make sure you chew it right cause you have to put it up against your gum when it tingles or soemthing, so its kinda complicated w/ that. that and you have to chew a lot of gum each day so it gets kindahard to remember to not eat an hour before each chew. im sure the thing works but it was just to hard for her to keep doing it right. if you want to try it i suggest reading instructions on it first before you start buying it because its a lot more complictated than just chewing gum whenever. right now shes on the patch and says that it seems to be helping her more than the gum, but that just might be because its easier. and she just chews regular gum or eats some kidna of candy to help herself if she gets a real strong craving to smoke oh yea, and whatever you do, make sure you try and join a support group of some sort to help motivate you while you do it too. also let everyone you know that usually smokes with you or that lends you cigs that your trying to quite and you'd like it if they didnt try and tempt you or anything. also make a list of things that would be reasons to stop smoking, and then look at that list whenever you feel like smoking. for example, you can put 'ill be able to go to dinner or some sort of event indoor w/out having to step outside everyonce in a while or that you wont have to smell bad anymore' hope it helps out a little bit, good luck! Answered by Aurore Appleton 1 year ago.

It is expensive, and does not work..at least not for me..it tastes nasty too........try hypnosis, they have seminars that help you to quit smoking, and not to gain weight when you do quit, and it is only around $40.00..it is also guaranteed, if it doesn't work, you can keep going back for free,,,,,however you have to want to quit, because if you really don't want to quit, the hypnosis will not work. Answered by Wm Misluk 1 year ago.

its about 12 pounds tastes horrible like card board theres a better fruity one buy nicotinell or somthing like that much better dont you have stop smoking clinics in your area because they help support you and best of all you get it cheap on prescription Answered by Kacie Waldon 1 year ago.

Did Nicorette help any of yall stop smoking?
I bought the Nicorette gum today. Its a 20 pack so im awear that I will have to buy more because it goes off of a 12 week plan. I got the 4mg. I was wondering if anyone has took it before and what was that out come of it. Thanks in advance. Asked by Maegan Micciche 1 year ago.

i tried it but I did quit with the commit Lozengers I liked them better you can get it in mint or cherry when I wanted a cigarette I would pop one in my mouth I quit way before my 12 weeks were up I had tried the patches and gum without it working the lozengers worked great. I also had been smoking for 30 years. Answered by Catrice Juliusson 1 year ago.

If you were a heavy smoker, the gum won't be effective. The patches have different stages of nicotine strength, to help you cut down at the pace you can manage. As you enter the final stage, perhaps you can switch to gum. If you like gum just chew your favourite brand anyways. Just don't forget the key to giving up smoking: willingness. Answered by Suellen Klobucar 1 year ago.

I stopped with nicotine patches. Good luck. Answered by Sana Youngkin 1 year ago.

Would hate to be stuck with a whole box of something that says mint but really tastes like a**. what are some of peoples favorites out there? Asked by Stacey Soberano 1 year ago.
