Can I take Nabumetone( Gen Relafen) after its expired?
Its 500 mg tablets that were prescribed in '06 and expired on 07/06/07. So im wondering if they would be dangerous to my health to take them or will they still work. Theres just so many here i hate to just get rid of them. I heard somewhere that some pills could be taken after their expiration date.

The dosage is very minimal; however, the medication has lost its shelflife over 3 years ago; and you would tend to want to take more because you might not get any results. I would get rid of it; read the side effects for the fresh stuff; I wouldn't take if it was fresh! SIDE EFFECTS: Most patients, benefit from nabumetone and other NSAIDs with few side effects. However, serious side effects can occur, and generally tend to be dose related. Therefore, it is advisable to use the lowest effective dose to minimize side effects. The most common side effects of nabumetone involve the gastrointestinal system. Some studies have shown that nabumetone may have a lower risk of gastrointestinal side effects than the other NSAID medications. However, like the other NSAID medications, it still can cause ulcerations, abdominal pain, cramping, nausea, gastritis, and even serious gastrointestinal bleeding, and liver toxicity. Sometimes, ulceration and bleeding can occur without any abdominal pain. Black tarry stools, weakness, and dizziness upon standing may be the only signs of internal bleeding. Rash, kidney impairment, ringing in the ears, and lightheadedness also can occur. NSAIDs reduce the ability of blood to clot and therefore increase bleeding after an injury. Nabumetone should be avoided by patients with a history of exacerbation of asthma, hives, or other allergic reactions to aspirin or other NSAIDs. Rare but severe allergic reactions have been reported in such individuals Answered by Aurelio Manista 4 months ago.

call yet another pharmacist. My drug e book says NSAIDS ( Ibuprofen ) & Relafen are the two NSAIDS) would decrease diuretic effectiveness. So in case you took them the two, you would be doubleing your doseage! do no longer try this! Contraidicated in sufferers with NSAID-precipitated allergies. Nonsteroidal antiiflmmatory drugs = NSAID, they impair the synthesis of renal blood bypass and bring about reversible renal impairment, liver illness or heart failure,in elderly sufferers and those taking diurectics. CBC (complete blood count selection) ought to be finished on those using it for long-term scientific care. NO, i does no longer use the two at the same time. you merely started taking Relafin, see the kind you react to it and what its outcomes are if any. yet do no longer take the two at the same time. each now and then taking too a good number of anybody kind of drug can set off the indications you're having now. i does no longer take the two at the same time. call your wellness care professional. you need to definetly cut back to rubble your kidneys or liver taking them at the same time! Drink various water, its extra helpful on your kidneys together as taking any medicine, till reported to no longer by potential of your wellness care professional. You reported you have aches and pains. How plenty nutrition C and salt to you get an afternoon? those 2 at the same time will help relieve discomfort. I consume oranges and placed salt on it and it does wonders for my achy legs, please attempt it. Prehaps you need to do without drugs. Answered by Librada Housman 4 months ago.

Can I take Ibuprofen when I'm already taking Nabumetone and Skelaxin?
I'm taking Nabumetone and Skelaxin because my back has been sore and I'm going out tonight. My back will probably start hurting from not resting so I was wondering if it was safe to take Ibuprofen too? thanks!
Asked by Deloise Echoles 4 months ago.
No. Ibuprofen and nabumetone are both NSAIDs and have nearly the same mechanism of action. Almost the same, as ibuprofen is a nonselective COX inhibitor, inhibiting both COX-1 and COX-2, and nabumetone is a selective COX-2 inhibitor. So it's a duplication of drug therapy, and I wouldn't recommend it. Answered by Armida Cosselman 4 months ago.
