I'm almost 100% sure I have a yeast infection. I get them frequently. Every time I've gone in for my regular women's checkup, I wind up testing positive for a yeast infection and so my obgyn prescribes me medicine to get rid of it, but I haven't been able to go to my regular checkup lately because I no longer have any health insurance and just to go in and see my doctor would cost me $50 outta pocket which i can't really afford right now. So since I'm almost 100% sure that what I have is a yeast infection, I want to try treating this myself this time and I'm going to be buying some Monistat but I don't know which kind to go with. I'd like to get rid of this dang infection before the weekend so I think the 3 day would be my best choice, but is the 3 day treatment as effective as the 7 day treatment? If it's not, I'll just go ahead and get the 7 day treatment because I don't want to wind up wasting my money or any more time on something that doesn't work. Answered by Vanda Sauger 1 year ago.
the 3 day, and even 1 day are just as effective as the 7 day. i don't know why anyone would ever do the 7 day anymore. i usually use the 1 day treatment and it goes away completely in about 3 days. Answered by Katerine Aguino 1 year ago.
Well I guarantee anything that you take longer will be more effective, since it gives the medication a longer period of time to do it's thing. Right now I'm thinking I have a yeast infection, and I started using the generic three day treatment last night, because I will be staying at my bf's and out doing activities this weekend, and really don't want to have to use the monistat then , kif you know what i mean, but anyways yea I'd think that the 3-day treatment would do it for most, unless you get really bad yeast infections that are known to take longer to get rid of. 1 Day Monistat Vs 3 Day Answered by Marcellus Meggett 1 year ago.
They work about the same and take about the same amount of time to clear up the infection. The only advantage to the 3 day is that you finish the treatment faster. It still takes it about 7 days to entirely clear up the infection. Answered by Shellie Bergey 1 year ago.

When I was pregnant with my son, I got the first ever yeast infection I have ever had. My OB told me to get the Monistat 3. I used that with no problems or side effects to my son. So I am going to assume that the Monistat 7 would be the same. Answered by Mac Herrada 1 year ago.
Yes monistat 3 and 7 are safe, i just got over mine 2 weeks ago and i was 10 weeks and i used monistat 3. Answered by Vinnie Alewine 1 year ago.

Although it is rare, you can transmit a yeast infection to your partner through sexual intercourse. So I would use a condom if I were you. Answered by Annelle Hartwigsen 1 year ago.
if a condom is worn it should be ok to have sex, there is no saying you cant have sex, but its best to wait if no protection is being used as you can pass it one, just wait till 5pm 2moror and it will be better then Answered by Sophie Sagehorn 1 year ago.

Do I have a yeast infection??!?
So I've had this for like 2 days, my vagina after I walk like whiteish booger looking crap comes out, it only stops when I pee, it smells horrible, and when it dries show like white on my panties. Is it yeast infection? Should I ask my doctor?

It sounds like you have a yeast infection. Just go to the drug store and buy a box treatment for yeast infections. A 3 or 5 day treatment should work fine. Try either "MONISTAT® 3-Day OVULE® Combination Pack" or "MONISTAT® 7 Day Combination Pack with Triple Action System". Or you can buy any generic brand that matches the ones listed here - they work just as well and I always buy the generic - and they're so much cheaper. The combination pack includes the applicators, the medicine (either in a suppository or cream filled tube, and a tube of external anti itch relief cream. Hope that helps...but if it doesn't go see a GYN dr. Answered by Soledad Bachas 1 year ago.

I think I have a yeast infection, I started feeling itchy and noticing more discharge than usual about 5 days ago, a few days after I finished my period. My symptoms are slight itching in the day and severe at night, dryness and occasional abdominal pain. I took Monistat 1 (the ovule kind), this past Wednesday evening before bed. I have noticed that I have more itching than I did before I took the Monistat. I have been applying the cream that came with combination pack but it only seems to work for about 30 minutes. Is this normal for the itching to continue? Should I see a doctor, or wait for a full 7 days first to see if it goes away? I am unsure what to do. The itching is really bothering me. Answered by Hui Mohair 1 year ago.
First please be advised that a yeast infection is easily passed through sexual activity in other words you can give it to your man so make very certain you avoid any of that til well after the synptoms are gone. Just as you can pass it to him he can have passed it to you. Now no disrespect to you im not sure of you age or if your sexually active doesnt matter to me its just allways good information to know.ok take it from me i got A horrible YEAST INFECTION from a antibiotic "Cocktail" I was given for a totally differant medical issue, and if ive ever told the truth, here it is...the only, i mean ONLY thing that worked for me was to basically douche with PLAIN WHITE YOGURT!! The PH level of a womans vagina is very very touchy it has to be to keep the inviroment PERFECT for contraception to happen otherwise it would kill off the sperm and we wouldnt be able to have babies. and when it gets sort of, for lack of a better term, "Thrown Off" it gets angry and fights back with a host of what are Normal yeast cultures that we have in there naturally. They are for keeping homeostasis, "Perfect balance". So when something throws it "off whack" our ph level that is, we fight back. Now plain white yogurt is full of live cultures (I think thats the term for em) and when you introduce them into this war going on between your legs(again for lack of a better term) Im not exactly sure of the exact way it assists our own natural yeast but it does and for me IT WORKED and it certainly is worth a try Cuz it cant hurt you. Heres how ya do it or rather how I did it. I filled up one of those applicators you would use to administer contraceptive foam inside of you and basically i inserted it as i would have the foam.I would assume that even a cardboard tube or one of the plastic one MINUS the tampon would work also. REMEMBER to WASH IT WITH SOAP AND WATER if its not a disposible item! Get at least one applicator or two if you can up in there LEAVE IT IN and just use a kotex pad to keep it from getting everthing a mess.DO NOT douch this too is a way of throwing our own PH level off balance!. I did this 3 times a day for get this ONE DAY thats all it took for me. each and every one of those horrible symptoms disappeared. You certainly can call at the very least your Dr.s nurse and speak to her or him about using the yogurt remedy. Once you get that under control youll need to get to the root of why you may have gotten it in the first place so it is less likely to return and antibiotics are a major culprit so are THONG UNDERWEAR!!! Believe it or not more women get a arrray of infections from thong underwear because the stringy is up against your you know. Its the perfect host for bacteria to thrive in.These bacterias can then TRAVEL DOWN THE STRING AND THEN IT HAS NOW BEEN INTRODUCED INTO YOUR VAGINA. So try the yogurt and contact your dr to discuass possible causes and if indeed it is even a yeast infection and not something else going on and hopefully it was just a freak thing and not something that is chronic. I'll pray for you on that ok? Answered by Marjorie Vaiko 1 year ago.
yeast infection needs intensive treatment - read below Answered by Pricilla November 1 year ago.
it should have improved by now. if you notice no improvement, i would go ahead and make a dr appt. sometimes, over the counter meds just can't knock it out. and by visiting the doctor, he or she can make sure its nothing more serious and give you peace of mind. If the medication isn't working then you should make an appt with your GYN. Answered by Lester Maxon 1 year ago.
Question about Monistat 3?
The itching is still pretty bad but the discharge seems to have lightened up. This morning though I noticed a slight greenish mucasy discharge. It's only been once and it wasn't much. Is this normal and what can I do about the itching (outside of going to the doctor- I can't afford it).

I was recently diagnosed with a yeast infection and last night was the first night I used the Monistat 3 combination pack. I inserted it like I was told and things were ok. This morning when I woke up and went to the bathroom I noticed more discharge than I had the night before. Is this normal? Does the suppository work like that in pushing everything out or is that the suppository that is leaking out? Answered by Tamatha Twohig 1 year ago.

monistat 7 takes seven days to sparkling u all up 3 takes 3 days and is derived with a cream for the outdoors to take the itchy away, monistat 3 no cream comes with it yet iis the comparable as above and monistat a million works in one day Answered by Letitia Geffken 1 year ago.
it's the drug you used... it's doing it's job. just follow as directed... and keep everything clean and dry. they tell you how to avoid infections? most times they don't. because doctors are lame brained and don't think ahead of time. find out what caused the problem and keep on the medication until it clears up. What is the best over-the-counter yeast infection medicine?
Asked by Milagro Mako 1 year ago.
I like the generic equivalent of Monistat in the 3 day combination pack treatment. The combination pack is good because you get an ointment for daytime along with the nightime treatment. I find the 1 day to not be long enough to work and the 7 days to be too long. 3 days is a good compromise. Answered by Dane Wenrick 1 year ago.
For most people they do work. I prefer the 3 day ovule ones, instead of the 7 day cream ones, its just more convenient. Though some people say the longer term ones work better. If they do not work for you or you find them too uncomfortable or inconvenient, however, your doctor can prescribe you an oral pill called fluconazole. You may even be able to get a prescription for it over the phone if you tell the doctor that your antibiotic did indeed give you a yeast infection. You'll only have to take one or two of them and it will go away. I prefer this, but it is probably worse for your body than the creams. Along with whichever method you take, you should eat lots of yogurt and take a probiotic supplement (get them from any vitamin store). This will help restore the healthy bacteria to your body that the antibiotic is destroying. Its always a good idea to take these anytime you take antibiotics. Answered by Shizuko Diani 1 year ago.
