Monistat 3 Day combination pack versus Monistat 7 Day treatment? Which is more effective?

I'm almost 100% sure I have a yeast infection. I get them frequently. Every time I've gone in for my regular women's checkup, I wind up testing positive for a yeast infection and so my obgyn prescribes me medicine to get rid of it, but I haven't been able to go to my regular checkup lately because I no longer have any health insurance and just to go in and see my doctor would cost me $50 outta pocket which i can't really afford right now. So since I'm almost 100% sure that what I have is a yeast infection, I want to try treating this myself this time and I'm going to be buying some Monistat but I don't know which kind to go with. I'd like to get rid of this dang infection before the weekend so I think the 3 day would be my best choice, but is the 3 day treatment as effective as the 7 day treatment? If it's not, I'll just go ahead and get the 7 day treatment because I don't want to wind up wasting my money or any more time on something that doesn't work. Answered by Mica Determan 4 months ago.

the 3 day, and even 1 day are just as effective as the 7 day. i don't know why anyone would ever do the 7 day anymore. i usually use the 1 day treatment and it goes away completely in about 3 days. Answered by Gennie Alwin 4 months ago.

Well I guarantee anything that you take longer will be more effective, since it gives the medication a longer period of time to do it's thing. Right now I'm thinking I have a yeast infection, and I started using the generic three day treatment last night, because I will be staying at my bf's and out doing activities this weekend, and really don't want to have to use the monistat then , kif you know what i mean, but anyways yea I'd think that the 3-day treatment would do it for most, unless you get really bad yeast infections that are known to take longer to get rid of. Answered by Eva Eickhorst 4 months ago.

1 Day Monistat Vs 3 Day Answered by Cyril Pipia 4 months ago.

They work about the same and take about the same amount of time to clear up the infection. The only advantage to the 3 day is that you finish the treatment faster. It still takes it about 7 days to entirely clear up the infection. Answered by Karen Lammi 4 months ago.

Is the Monistat 3 Combination Pack Applicator smaller than a Tampon?
well i dont exactly have the greatest knowledge of sex, i prefer to stay away from it Asked by Juli Widhalm 4 months ago.

use smaller ones Answered by Trinh Descombes 4 months ago.

It is about the same as a regular or light tampon. Your virginity is a state of being, not something physical. You can't "break" not having sex. You will be a virgin until you have sex with a man. Most people don't have a hymen, or tore it as a child playing sports. Don't worry about anything like that. Answered by Polly Schlereth 4 months ago.

You can't break your virginity. Omg *places face in hands* You need a MAN to become a non-virgin. No tampon, applicator, fingers, sex toys, etc witll make you a non-virgin. Answered by Stephan Archacki 4 months ago.

it's longer than a tampon yes, but not thicker. Answered by Lynwood Wadle 4 months ago.

yes you will be ok but you may need some KY to go with it Answered by Theresa Moynihan 4 months ago.

Okay to take monistat during day instead of at night?
i just bought monistat 3 ovule combination pack for my first yeast infection. it says to insert it before bedtime, but if i use it during the day and stay still and lie down for most of the day, would it be okay? Asked by Serina Koetter 4 months ago.

It would be ok ONLY if you are going to lay down and not get up for hours on end. It has to have time to soak in and the minute you stand it will all come out. Answered by Shelby Falardeau 4 months ago.

Monistat 3 questions..?
I use tea tree oil on my face, and I actually tried that but I was scared because I know tea tree oil can burn....so I used a verrry very small amount down there lol it didnt do much, but maybe a bit more would help, that and I only did it once or twice Asked by Mia Kilts 4 months ago.

Yes it will Answered by Cornelius Watt 4 months ago.

I have a better answer for you - I've used it for years and it works every time. If you have a yeast infection chances are you will get them again, and having to buy and use that messy stuff is awful. All you need to do is buy a little bottle of "Tea Tree essential oil" You can get it in health stores or in big grocery stores in N America. You take a tampon - drop two drops (that's all you need - its concentrated stuff) of Tea tree onto the tip along with a couple of drops of water and insert it. Leave it in for 3/4 hrs and then take it out. You may need to do it again the next day, depending on how bad your infection is, but that is all there is to it. Simple, easy and so much less messy. Question about Monistat 3?
The itching is still pretty bad but the discharge seems to have lightened up. This morning though I noticed a slight greenish mucasy discharge. It's only been once and it wasn't much. Is this normal and what can I do about the itching (outside of going to the doctor- I can't afford it). Asked by Shirl Walljasper 4 months ago.

I was recently diagnosed with a yeast infection and last night was the first night I used the Monistat 3 combination pack. I inserted it like I was told and things were ok. This morning when I woke up and went to the bathroom I noticed more discharge than I had the night before. Is this normal? Does the suppository work like that in pushing everything out or is that the suppository that is leaking out? Answered by Hassan Dequattro 4 months ago.

yes hun its the pill in u brakin up n ur lady liquid cleanin it out so u will b free from the yeast. i only get it twice wen pregs. if u get it again try nature yoghurt on ur girly part as that helps 2 n cheaper or dr's u wud pay £7.10 but in tesco they £10+ gl i hope u feel betta as now u know the pill inside u is wrkin x Answered by Jeanett Bowie 4 months ago.

monistat 7 takes seven days to sparkling u all up 3 takes 3 days and is derived with a cream for the outdoors to take the itchy away, monistat 3 no cream comes with it yet iis the comparable as above and monistat a million works in one day Answered by Willodean Posse 4 months ago.

it's the drug you used... it's doing it's job. just follow as directed... and keep everything clean and dry. they tell you how to avoid infections? most times they don't. because doctors are lame brained and don't think ahead of time. find out what caused the problem and keep on the medication until it clears up. (i found my old lady had an yeast infection from eating fast food and using cheaper concentrated laundry detergents...) Answered by Candelaria Mullally 4 months ago.

hi its normal after u finsh the monistat it well ok don't worry take care Answered by Karisa Boswell 4 months ago.

Monistat 1 pack (one dose) does it work?
Has anyone used the monistat 1 combination pack (one treatment) and had it worked. I've never used it, only the 3 day treatment once. But I don't want to wait THAT long before being able to be active again. How long does it normally take after using it? Asked by Larraine Ciani 4 months ago.

It works just fine. But, if you mean you want to be sexually active again soon, you need to read the instructions that come with all of those products. You shouldn't be having sex with a yeast infection. Answered by Keira Sawicki 4 months ago.

i noticed a differance in 1 day it works Answered by Shae Wisely 4 months ago.

I am not sure if it works, I haven't tried it myself. My doctor said to avoid that one b/c it doesn't really clear up the problem. Answered by Melita Kubat 4 months ago.

hey guys. Im 16. So on friday morning i noticed my vagine (vulva area) statred itching a little. since, it has gotten a lot worse. On sunday i decided to finally tell ,my mom. we went to rite aid and bought monistat 3 combination pack (has cooling wipes, the applicators, ovules, and itch cream). We decided that i would insert the ovules at night (around 10 before i go to bed). and during the day (to subside the itching) apply vagisil itch cream. So i used the vagisil during the day and it soorrttt of worked :/ like it was okay. Then at 10 i inserted the ovule for the first time with little pain. THe reason it was a little painful is bc my vuvla is superr sore feeling... llike it stings:( I wore a pad at night bc i heard that it kind of leaks. I woke up in the morning and threw the pad away not thinking to check it. i assumed that the leaking was done. But during the day i would go to the bathroom and notice a light brownish almost chunky (yuckkk) discharge. So is that saying the monistat is leaking or is my infection worse? btw my vulva is definatly way less sore than yesterday so i guess the monistat worked well in that aspect but idk about the itching....it seems just as bad (maybe a LITTLE better) please ansswer :( thank you. Answered by Pamala Madon 4 months ago.

There is some leakage when using the Monistat ovules- And you should notice even more improvement with the 2nd treatment. And by the 3rd it should really be a lot better. Sometimes, tho, you may have to use another 3 day treatment (This is not unusual - some yeast infections take more than the 3 days Be sure that you wear a panty liner when you go out. If for some reason . you think that the infection is not getting any better, it might be wise to be evaluted by your doctor, because there is another type of infection which is really more common than a yeast infection. It is call Bacterial Vaginosis and this does require a doctor's visit and a doctor's prescritpion. But, for now, keep using the Monistat and the discharge is normal. Answered by Cordelia Hovantzi 4 months ago.

you won't have a yeast an infection so as subsequently the medicine isn't working for you. you're transforming into a vaginal bacteria an infection called bacterial vaginosis it fairly is a complication-unfastened an infection it fairly is akin to a yeast an infection. the only thank you to do away with this an infection is an antibiotic it fairly is prescribed by utilising you gyn. I had the comparable situation and spent plenty funds on yeast an infection medicine. This an infection is led to by utilising the replace on your organic vaginal bacteria. Google this an infection to get extra counsel and to ascertain in case you have comparable indicators. wish this helps. Answered by Tayna Trongone 4 months ago.

the chunky junk is the yeast discharge and is normal. you have to use the monistat consistently for 3 days before it will be cured. Answered by Blanca Rigney 4 months ago.

How do I keep yeast infection cream from coming out when I cough?

Well, my cough has not gone away. So, every time I cough, it causes the inserted cream to...well...un-insert itself. I know I can go to doc and get a prescription, but I would rather not pay the extra money (furnace just broke and cost $900 to fix, so money is tight). I am on day 3 of the OTC stuff, but it doesn't seem to be working that great since I can't keep it in me. Any suggestions? P.S. As I've stated, I know I can go to the doctor. That is my last resort. So, obviously I will not choose an answer as "best answer" if their solution is to go to the doc. Answered by Terence Warriner 4 months ago.

The best thing ever....MONISTAT 3 DAY COMBINATION PACK. It comes with three prefilled applications plus external cream. Use each applicator at night RIGHT before bed and go straight to bed so the cream doesn't leak out; it'll be more effective. Use the external cream for during the day when you cannot stand the discomfort. Put some on the outer part of the vagina and you can also use a finger or two to insert some just inside. This always did the trick for me. Answered by Anamaria Mccort 4 months ago.

Insert the "FUN STUFF " at night before you go to bed. If you need relief during the day you can get the tube for daily use. I know what you r going through. It happens to me too when I'm on an antibiotic. GOOD LUCK !! Answered by Holli Boch 4 months ago.

You should insert it daily just before you go to bed, so you are lying down for the first few hours. That should do it! Answered by Scarlet Landolf 4 months ago.

You should call your OB/gyn or regular doc so they can call in a Diflucan for you. The over the counter stuff is not the way to go. It can help mask some of the symptoms but usually doesn't cure it. Diflucan is what you want. It's just one pill and should cure the infection. You might also have something else going on, so they might want to take a urine sample, too. Don't be surprised if they want to see you. Most doctors have a way of working you in the very same day when you have these symptoms, they know you need to be seen asap. Take care and get well soon.
