I have been on the pill for a long time and its been the same one except in the past 4 years or so I went to the genric form. In the past 10 months have had no sex drive at all. Is there some side affect due to this pill? I did talk to the Dr and she kind of shrugged it off and said that meds to help libdo would cause depression and I don't need anymore of that. I don't care much for the Dr not really working on what is bothering me but that's beside the point. What can I do to prevent pregnacy and get me going again. My husband is starting to miss it. Answered by Leon Siedel 1 year ago.

I took Mircette for 3 years back in the late 90s and the only thing I didn't like about it was that I bled a lot while on it because the amount of estrogen in it was too low for me. It caused me to have some problems with my breast. Once I went to a higher dosed pill when it comes to estrogen I did ok. As for the issue of weight gain, yes, it could cause a bit of that. The weight is mostly water and the average weight gain is that of 5 to 10 lbs. Some women actually lose weight on the pill. I did that in the 6 months I was on Yasmin during part of last year. I hope that the Mircette will be of help to you. Answered by Kristina Noeldner 1 year ago.

Because mircette contains a combination of female hormones, it could be that it's messing with your own hormones. If the doctor is not taking you seriously, then find another one, because it does not seem like she is concerned about your health. Sex is very important in a relationship, especially if you miss it too. Next time you take another drug make sure you know the side effects before taking it. Then you can decide if you want to take it and a doctor can always recommend something else for you. Look into Ortho evra, ask your doctor about it. I know a few friends and family that take this and they like it. It's a patch. First look into getting another doctor. Answered by Twanda Phillps 1 year ago.

I'm about to start taking birth control for the first time (Mircette, or the generic Kariva) in a few days. Just wondering if anyone has tried it, heard about it, etc....? My Gyno says it is one of the lowest dosages, but I am still a little nervous about the side effects. I've heard that it just depends on the person, but I don't want to gain weight, break out, etc. Also, if it helps, I am 21 years old and have never been on any kind of birth control before...so I guess that's why I'm a little nervous about the side effects. Thanks for your help! :) Answered by Lea Mccandles 1 year ago.

I've been taking Mircette for the past two years. I'm 28 and first went on bc pills when I was 21. I was originally on Ortho Tri-cyclen and it was wonderful for my acne, but horrible for my migraines. I tried Seasonale for a year, but had a lot of spotting. Mircette has been a good compromise. My skin is not as awesome as it was on Ortho, but I don't have many breakouts. Mainly just one or two bumps the week before my period. I'm 5'7" and stay right around 140 in my weight. This is a little heavier than I like, but I'm not sure if it's due to the pill or the fact that I got married and don't work out as much!!! One great advantage is that my period is super short on Mircette. I normally bleed for one day and spot for another and that's it! I only have cramps about once or twice a year. All in all, it's a pretty good pill to be on. Answered by Sandy Mering 1 year ago.

Answered by Lamar Concilio 1 year ago.

When on the Mircette you will take the entire pack of pills. That last week of pills is 3 placebo pills and 4 pills with hormone in it but a lesser amount than the first 3 weeks of pills. Your period will start anywhere during those 3 placebo pills, and the other pills are to slowly give a bit of hormone back until you start the next pack. I would recommend getting back in touch with your doctor to ask for further clarification on the instructions on how to take the Mircette. Answered by Gilberte Waide 1 year ago.

Mircette v. Tri-Sprintec?
I have been taking mircette and have the option to swith to Tri-Sprintec, any suggestions? Asked by Alonso Joye 1 year ago.

I was on Tri-Sprintec for a couple of years- It's OK, no complaints. I don't know anything about Mircette though. I stopped taking Tri-Sprintec and switched to Nuva Ring because I hate taking pills everyday. I've been on the ring for six months now and really like it. At first it was a bit weird putting it in and taking it out but that is no longer an issue- you just get used to it and you don't even feel it. I haven't had any side affects from it, haven't gained weight or had mood swings or anything. If you're thinking about changing up your birth control, think about the ring. How do you like Mircette birth control pills?
recently i went on birth control and my doctor suggested Mircetta for my first dosage. How have your bodies reacted?...any side effect i should be aware of? Asked by Suzanna Loiselle 1 year ago.

I went on Mircette back in the late 90s when it first came out and while I liked that I didn't have to worry about nausea from taking it in the a.m. I did end up having a lot of problems with breakthrough bleeding (bleeding that acts a lot like a period but isn't). I finally had to go off of it after a time to a higher dose birth control pill when it came to amounts of hormone in the medication. If it weren't for the breakthrough bleeding and one other issue I had because of how low the estrogen was I would have stayed on the medication. Answered by Annabell Merino 1 year ago.

Trying to conceive after taking Mircette?
Yes, Mircette is a low dose estrogen form of birth control. Asked by Leighann Huitzacua 1 year ago.

I believe Mircette is a birth control pill, right? I'm almost sure I used to take it. I believe you have the same chances conceiving with a lose dose estrogen as with a regular. You just go off the pill for your fake period, then you'll ovulate around 14 days afterward if you don't start taking it again. Good luck! Answered by Henry Benage 1 year ago.

Has anyone taken the birth control Mircette?
What side-effects did you have? So far I've had nothing but nauseousness. Asked by Vanesa Remeder 1 year ago.

I did Mircette for 3 years back from 1998-2001 and the biggest problem I had was that of breakthrough bleeding due to the fact that the amount of hormone in the medication was too low for me. It also bothered my breast some in a different way but not as badly as one other brand I did prior to it. Answered by Virginia Haeber 1 year ago.
