It's supposed to be comparable to Loestrin 24 Fe, so I didn't worry about it. But just tonight I noticed some very light spotting. I'm a bit mad since on my previous birth control I never had this problem. Has anyone had this problem while on this birth control? Answered by Corliss Tyrance 3 months ago.

Last month was my first month on Minastrin 24. I had been taking Loestrin for a year and half. I have spotting/ light bleeding for the whole month (took the whole package while bleeding). Now I started the new package and It has been 5 days and Im still spotting. It usually lasted 2 days with Loestrin. I might have to see my doctor to change pills. Minastrin 24 fe Answered by Detra Rack 3 months ago.

As Anne said above it is your body reacting to the hormones. I believe it is called break through bleeding when this happens but if after 2 or3 months of being on this pill or if breakthrough bleeding gets heavy I would contact your doctor and let them know right away like Anne said. Good luck! Answered by Robin Courton 3 months ago.

Currently having this problem now...I just emailed my gyno about it so hopefully I get an answer soon. It's so annoying! Idk why your body would have to get used to the pill since it's supposedly exactly the same Answered by Deangelo Drehs 3 months ago.

Continuously missing periods on Minastrin 24 Fe?
I have been taking Minastrin 24 Fe since August. I only got my period one time in November and have not gotten any hints of a period any other time. Is this normal? Does anyone else have this problem? Asked by Ali Bail 3 months ago.

The 24 Fe type of pills are known for making periods extremely light and short, and even stop it altogether. If you are worried, see your doctor. Best of luck! Answered by Miguel Belyoussian 3 months ago.

Same thing happened to me. I had bad pill cycles and would bleed randomly and hard. Now finally regulated and had a very light period on Sunday of the inactive days. From what I've read, if you have any degree of blood on your inactive days, it's enough to be considered a period. Answered by Gigi Barbano 3 months ago.

Help please?
Been on the pill (minastrin 24 fe) for 2 weeks and condom broke should i Take plan b? Asked by Edwin Angviano 3 months ago.

The point of taking the pill is so that you dont have to use a condom or pulling out or anything else so if youve been taking the pill regularly theres nothing to worry about. However its probably a good idea to use a condom as a back up to the pill but the chances of both failing at the same time are very small. Answered by Maude Dinham 3 months ago.

Check with the pharmacist that it is safe to take plan b along with your current pill. If it is - I would. I wouldn't take any chances when it comes to pregnancy because having a child is a huge commitment. Answered by Erin Zarzycki 3 months ago.

The point of plan B is to takie t at its earliest opportunity. You are wasting valuable time asking that on here. If the chemist is not open (due to your time zone, it's 5pm here), then you should still get it anyway if you're worried. Answered by Genevie Dillman 3 months ago.

You can take Plan B with almost every birth control. It will just screw up your cycle for a little while, but it won't hurt you to take it. One of the advertised reasons for the pill is "birth control failure" so you'll be fine! Answered by Gwendolyn Grishan 3 months ago.

So I went to GYN yesterday for the first time. I talked to the lady about my history of irregular periods and she asked me if I used birth control. I told her that I use to be on Loestrin 24 Fe and stopped taking it because my insurance changed and that I wanted to get back on it and she said that they don't make Loestrin 24 Fe anymore and they changed it to Minastrin 24 Fe. So I assumed it was the same as what I had before. Well, I have been looking up things about Minastrin 24 and so far negative results about this. I took my first pill yesterday night and I just swallowed like I use to with the Loestrin. Is it okay to swallow it and not chewing it even though it says it can be chewed? I just wanted to have regular periods since my last one was VERY painful and I wasn't even on the pill. Also I am not ready for kids since I just got married a year ago and I am still in school. And kids are not in our minds since we want to enjoy the married life before buckling down. Also what I don't understand is that my best friend is on Loestrin 24 and I thought they discontinued it? How in the world could she get it if my GYN said they don't make the brand anymore. Can someone please tell me that they aren't having any problems with Minastrin 24 Fe. Because I don't want to go back to my GYN and tell her that I want to switch pills based off of bad reviews. Plus I already have a upset mother for me getting back on the pill since she believes in all natural methods. And I already tried the all natural method and it didn't work on me at all. I was on Loestrin 24 Fe for about 3 years and then stopped after my insurance changed in 2011. So I haven't been on birth control since then. I have been off the birth control for about 3 year and now getting back to it since I am married and had 2 periods before with EXTREMELY BAD CRAMPS THAT I COULDN'T WEAR JEANS WITHOUT HURTING IN PAIN FROM THE CRAMPS also not wanting to have kids this soon. Planning to have kids in 2 years though. Please help me out. Answered by Gala Rollheiser 3 months ago.

Sounds like hormonal imbalances. could be pregnancy, endometriosis, or poly-cystic ovarian syndrome Answered by Farrah Bouthillette 3 months ago.

If you're truly worried about it see if there is a generic brand of the Loestrin available at the pharmacy. The pill wouldn't be on the market if it wasn't an effective form of contraception so as long as you take it as directed (which includes chewing however I highly doubt it matters) you should be covered on that part. There is no telling how your body will react to it without trying it first. Give it atleast 2 months before you decide against it. You are messing with your body's hormonal functioning it will need time to adjust. Don't worry if you happen to gain 1-5Ib within the first 2 months, once you're body gets used to the hormones your weight will go back to normal. (If it happens to be more than that then that would be when you would consult your Dr.) Best of luck! Answered by Aleisha Hallum 3 months ago.

Answered by Hannelore Molla 3 months ago.

Taking the placebo pills or not taking them on those days makes no difference. You will still be protected when you start taking your new pack of proper pills. The placebo pills are just that - placebos. They have no active ingredients and very few calories. They will not stop you losing weight. Answered by Lavona Urbany 3 months ago.

The placebo pills are 100% NOT why you can't lose weight. They have around 2 calories each in them. If anything is affecting your weight it will be the active hormone pills. Anyway, you don't need to take the sugar pills, they are only there as a reminder so that after 7 days you start taking the active pills again. Why are you starting your new pack today if you've only had 4 days break? You are supposed to have 7 days off before starting the next pack, regardless of when you have your period. And no, you won't get pregnant by not taking the placebo pills, they don't do anything. You are protected against pregnancy throughout the entire month, even the week where you are taking placebo pills or not taking any pills at all. Answered by Reginald Klei 3 months ago.

No, though Plan B has been known to throw off cycles and the cramping is a side effect. Plan B normally delays periods about 4 weeks after the next expected cycle. Answered by Alyson Botkins 3 months ago.

The normal rule of thumb is that once you have been on hormonal contraception for seven days you are fully protected. You do not need to take the morning after pill. It can be weird to get used to being able to just have sex, but I personally can't imagine going back to condoms after years on the pill! Answered by Julee Baltrip 3 months ago.
