Mifeprex is used, together with another medication called misoprostol, to end an early pregnancy (within 49 days of the start of a woman's last menstrual period). Since its approval in September 2000, the Food and Drug Administration has received reports of serious adverse events, including several deaths, in the United States following medical abortion with mifepristone and misoprostol. Each time FDA receives a report of a serious adverse event or death after medical abortion with these drugs, the agency carefully analyzes the available scientific information to determine whether or not the serious adverse event or death is related to the use of the drugs. As previously reported by the agency, several of the women who died in the United States died from sepsis (severe illness caused by infection of the bloodstream) after medical abortion with mifepristone and misoprostol. Sepsis is a known risk related to any type of abortion. Most of these women were infected with the same type of bacteria, known as Clostridium sordellii. The symptoms in these cases of infection were not the usual symptoms of sepsis. We do not know whether using mifepristone and misoprostol caused these deaths. Patients should contact a healthcare practitioner right away if they have taken these medications for medical abortion and develop stomach pain or discomfort, or have weakness, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea with or without fever, more than 24 hours after taking the misoprostol. These symptoms, even without a fever, may indicate sepsis. Patients should make sure their healthcare practitioner knows they are undergoing a medical abortion. All providers of medical abortion and emergency room healthcare practitioners should investigate the possibility of sepsis in women who are undergoing medical abortion and present with nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea and weakness with or without abdominal pain. These symptoms even without a fever may indicate a hidden infection. Strong consideration should be given to obtaining a complete blood count in these patients. Significant leukocytosis with a marked left shift and hemoconcentration may be indicative of sepsis. Answered by Doretta Guedjian 12 months ago.
This is a drug which induces a miscarriage. It is on no account for use for an abortion. Doctors will on no account prescribe it for that use. It is simplest to be had with a medical professional's prescription whilst there was a traditional miscarriage wherein the little one dies or on no account develops, however the miscarriage has no longer started after ready the proper period of time for something intent. This occurred to my sister in regulation just lately. It is essential for the tissues from the being pregnant to depart the frame or an illness can arise, which may also be disasterous to the girl and even lethal. It is simplest prescribed if the tissues after the miscarriage don't depart on their possess. If the misoprostol does no longer paintings, then a D&C is needed. But no medical professional will prescribe it only for an abortion on a feasible, healthful, developing being pregnant. For that, you're going to have to talk over with an abortion health facility and pass via the scientific process. Planned abortions have got to continually be played beneath the course of a scientific medical professional, no longer for your possess dwelling. EDIT: That's quality that you are a nurse and conscious of what it may possibly do...however that does not difference the truth that no medical professional will prescribe it to you except the being pregnant had already ended and the tissues have not expelled on their possess after a fair period of time. I don't know whether I should continue with an abortion or have the baby... I truly regret taken those pills... I didn't bleed I just had diarrhea and stomach pains for a whole day I'm only about 9 weeks ...... Please help me

Mifeprex has a high rate of birth defects. I think the responsible thing would be to continue with the abortion. It would be in the best interest of the baby. When medication abortions fail they always offer a surgical one because the baby has little chance of being normal and healthy after those meds. I'm sorry that you regret your decision, but having been there I just want to say that if your initial choice was to have an abortion somewhere you knew it was the best decision. It's perfectly normal to have regret but what you have to remember is why you felt you needed one in the first place. Answered by Melva Bachorski 12 months ago.
The baby is already dead. That's what the first pills were for. The other pills just help you flush out the dead baby. So it's too late to do anything now. If you don't take the rest of the pills the dead baby will start to rot inside you and that can cause an infection. Answered by Zack Klicka 12 months ago.
you should read to proper usage and method to take it. If you order mifeprex from buybirthcontrolpills you get a complete usage knowledge. So that you won't regret ever. Answered by Cameron Detore 12 months ago.
well if its been a few days I guess you can try the abortion pills again! but its better to visit your doctor as differennt countries have different laws. Answered by Gia Nealey 12 months ago.
I was thinking about getting an abortion, has anyone takin the abortion pill mifeprex?
Was there any pain how much was it and how much did it cost. im only 21 and im not ready for a child. I shouldve been more careful.

I suggest you visit livejournal's abortion info and abortion stories communities (link). The moderators are pro choice and will not hassle you. From all that I've heard, the pain of a medication abortion is equivalent to severe menstrual cramps... and the pain is caused more by the second drug you take, misoprostol, not by the mifeprex. As far as cost, Planned Parenthood charges between $350-575ish, depending on where you are and your income level etcetera. Answered by Shenita Capito 12 months ago.
I hope you caught it soon enough.. there is pain involved because you are killing something inside of you and it will have to leave your body eventually... a friend of mine did this and she said she was in mild pain for a couple days. You can only take the pill if you are 6 or 8 weeks along OR LESS so hopefully you caught it before its too late. the pill usually costs I believe $400-$650.00 (aka a lot more than birth control and condoms) Dont make the same screw-up twice! Answered by Amanda Girst 12 months ago.
Better that than an unwanted child. Whatever you do, have it done professionally. Someone who shall remain nameless had an abortion done to her years ago in France when she was young and they botched it up. She never could have children after that and she's always wanted them. Couldn't adopt because regulations were too strict and she'd have made a great mother. Answered by Lynn Acfalle 12 months ago.
the abortion pill is not good. It is safer to go threw the operation in a specialized clinic. It is very costly but it is safer. My parents paid for mine back in 2002, it cost like $300. But you get a screening before and emotional help after words. Depending on the state you live in (if you are in the USA) the price may be different. Please see the link below it should help you. Talk to a doctor about the effects of the abortion pill. If your not ready to be a mother then highly consider using birth control pills. If you have too many abortions then it can cause a lot of internal and psychological problems. Also you wont be able to have kids in the long run. Take care of your body and have safe sex. Answered by Xiomara Bryne 12 months ago.
abortion is the most worst thing on earth,is a second degree murder, i will tell you this, when u want to get rid of that,u don't have to Waite like 2 or 3 months b4 making your decision. Now,when u don't see your period on that very first month,u need to take some pills that make your period come or contact a doctor that will give you some medicine.but waiting after a months, means that, the baby will be forming and when the baby formed, that is bad ,because you killing the baby and God don't want that So always try to get your period out ,when you know it has past the time for it to come,be vigilant Answered by Tanisha Kloberdanz 12 months ago.
Better than an unwanted child? Holy $hit what a crude comment. First of all, my cousin died in CA for taking RU486. It is an extreme risk of infection from the killing of your child inside your body. Secondly, if you're not prepared to have a child (or more appropriately, if you're not responsiblie enough to handle your obligations) then please consider letting your child live and adopt him/her out to a family that wants to care for a child. Killing your baby because it is an inconvienience is horrific. Answered by Renata Rovelto 12 months ago.
I dont recomend getting an abortion. A lot of the ppl regrett getting one. There was a consequence to what u did and u should live up to it. If you are not ready to be a mom, give it up for adoption, but dont kill it. Please! Answered by Savannah Carpinelli 12 months ago.
Don't use the pills they make you sick I heard. GIve the baby up for adoption. It's still a baby no matter how small. Answered by Gilberte Westaway 12 months ago.

Asked by Bula Artiles 12 months ago.
Yes, medication abortions are almost 95% succesful if done within the first 8-9 weeks. However, you should have taken two pills - not just one. One to seperate the fetus from the wall of the uterus & the other to cause contractions that will push everything out of the uterus. Please make sure that this is what you really want to do because so many women have regrets years later & post traumatic stress like disorders from having the medication abortion. I am not lecturing you in any way but PLEASE make sure that you are the one making this decision & no one else influences you. If you are afraid to tell someone, don't be. Your family will accept you & will be happier than you think. I know I will be ridiculed for saying this, but I have had a medication abortion & 5 years later, I still wish I could take it back. Everyday I think about what I did. I have an 11 month old son & being a mother I don't know how I did what I did. It is your decision but I can tell you from experience that you will regret it. Please, just talk to someone you trust about this. @ Mrs - YES, PTSD does exist. Soldiers have PTSD coming back from war. How can you possibly say it does not exist. You have no idea what you're talking about & have obviously never been in a traumatic situation. Your information is wrong in every single way. Yes, MANY MANY MANY women do regret their abortions later in life. Unless you have had an abortion I suggest you keep your know it all "information" to yourself. You have no clue what you are talking about. How can you suggest she buy it ONLINE without a doctor's supervision??? You must be an idiot!!! There is a lot of bleeding for most women during a MA & she needs to be under a doctors supervision to make sure that the abortion is succesful. They do an ultrasound before & after to make sure there is no tissue left in the uterus which can cause a serious and DEADLY infection. You should not be giving information to someone when you have no clue what you're talking about & your advice could harm them seriously! Answered by Sondra Kuttler 12 months ago.
First of all, Post traumatic stress disorder is all made up and does not exist. Feeling sad, regrets and some getting postpartum is normal. Anyone who's been pregnant risk postpartum. Very few regret their abortions. There are many factors that play into that. And yes, Mifeprex does work. Safe sites like womenonweb and womenonwaves provide you with those and they also list proper dose and use. If you buy online be careful because there are so many fakes out there but these 2 are safe and womenonwaves also list the fake ones. Take care and make sure you have someone to talk about it with afterwards. Answered by Shavonne Hermie 12 months ago.

Question i took mifeprex 3/23/10 at 2:30 i am supposed to take misoprostol 24-48 hours after. I do not want to take the second pills and i do not want mifeprex to work anymore. Is there any pill to reverse mifeprex? I feel that i am too late but if there is any hope. I took the pill today and i was 7 weeks and two days pregnant. Since i have taken the pill i feel no cramps or bleeding yet. what do you think? Answered by Lionel Szczesny 12 months ago.
There is nothing to reverse the pill, once it has been in your system for a half hour its already doing its job. You need to go thru with the rest of the pills because you need to exert it out of your system. The first pill is not really intended to make you cramp or bleed, just to terminate the pregnancy and the second set of pills is what makes you cramp and bleed. So i think you need to take the other pills. Sorry. Answered by Khalilah Goodell 12 months ago.
Yes you can! I took the 1st abortion pill at 4 weeks pregnant felt horrible about my decision & found abortionpillreversal.com. I called and spoke w/ a compassionate non judgmental nurse who connected me a Dr. in my area. The Dr. not only personally called me but prescribed me progesterone pills to insert vaginally on a Sat night to take until I could see him in his office on Monday. It's been a long process of progesterone injections but I'm currently 2 days shy from being 13 weeks pregnant with TWINS!!' Thankfully they have strong heartbeats and are growing & developing normally. There is hope! Answered by Danial Feigel 12 months ago.
No. I took the 1st pill yesterday at Planned Parenthood and they let me know that once I take the pill there is no going back. They asked me if I was sure, let me know I had other options, etc. You won't feel cramps or bleed until you take the second set of pills... Answered by Andrew Prati 12 months ago.
you can not reverse it. that first pill basically was taken to end the life of the fetus. so the fetus will no longer grow, wont have a heart beat or anything. those pills that you are suppose to take 24-48 hours after just make you bleed it out. so if you dont take those last ones you are basically just going to make yourself realllllly sick and probly end up in the hospital. dont mess around with it. Answered by Shameka Thoby 12 months ago.
i would take the second pill even tho you doing want to. the first pill could of not terminated the pregnancy all the way and you dont want the baby to have problems bc of it Answered by Jarrod Warnstaff 12 months ago.

How much is Mifeprex?
i know, it's not the best choice. but i need to know how much it is? and how you get it? and where to get it at!
Asked by Amira Mucha 12 months ago.
You cannot buy this from say a pharmacy, the two pharmaceutical companies who make this pill in America are very strict when distributing it, it only goes to doctors who are certified to do this particular procedure. You have to go to Planned Parenthood. That being said, it can cost anywhere from 115$ - $300 depending on your situation. If you tell them you have no support and no job, it will on the cheaper end of the scale. Good luck. Answered by Reginald Delucia 12 months ago.

wow you really need to grow up and be resposnsible for your actions! im 16 and 18 weeks pregnant and im being more of an adult then you are!, if your going to kill the baby anyway, get on birth control, so you dont have to keep killing babies because of your unresponsibilty to use condoms, birth control etc. consider adoption atleast, the familty will pay for all doctor costs and cost of the birth if money is what your worried about you could make a family very happy.
