Answered questions

Are you on LUNELLE?
Hey, when you start on Lunelle, the birth control injection, you don't give yourself the injection, right? Do you have to go into the doctor and have them give you the injection? Asked by Keely Hoopes 3 months ago.

I had considered Lunelle back in the late 90s (and it went off the market as far as here in the U.S. back around 2000) because I liked the idea of not taking a pill every day. To get the injection you have to go to the doctor's office to get it. No self injecting involved. I hope that Lunelle comes back to the U.S. so that there's another option available to women besides Depo-Provera. If it is back now that's great. Answered by Otelia Runswick 3 months ago.

Has anyone ever used Lunelle and if so what is the difference between it and Depo shot?/?
just curious serious answers only ims and email accepted..... i don't really like bc at all it has too many side effects, but i'm curious about the Lunelle shot...any personal experinces will be good. Asked by Elli Carroll 3 months ago.

Lunelle is a monthly shot versus a shot you get every 10-12 weeks. The advantage to this is that if you're having HORRIBLE side effects, you don't have to wait 3 months to change your method. My SIL used it however and bled NON-stop for over 5 months and even got pregnant and miscarried while using it. I cannot seriously recommend it. If you're interested in the shot, you could also look into the Depo sub-q. It's a lower dose depo shot that's put under the skin rather than into a muscle. Answered by Raul Quante 3 months ago.

Sometimes, a woman's body builds up an intolerance to the hormones in both Lunelle and Depo Provera, and spotting & irregular bleeding are the most common complaints from this. As for your cycle, it's not technically "irregular" if you've got an "average" window of about 4-6 days variance. With artificial hormones, this may be considered acceptable. It is even considered acceptable in women who don't use hormone control. An irregular cycle would be one where you either have your period more often than every 21 days or less often than every 40 days....or where you can never find a common balance to your cycles (30 days one month, 20 days, then 45 days, then 15 days, etc). If you're concerned, then DO address this with your doctor and consider the possibility that you'll need to try a different contraceptive. Answered by Brigid Findley 3 months ago.

i grew to become into on the dep. i had brown discharge and different stuff. i bleed for a month properly on it. it has something to do with the hot mixture in the dep. photos is what i grew to become into instructed. i like the old ones. final time i grew to become into on it 2 years in the past i had no bleeding, besides the incontrovertible fact that i did finally end up with a huge suprise i had gotten pregnant properly on it. this time thank god all i did grew to become into bleed and have atypical recognizing. there is relatively no longer something you're able to do until eventually ultimately it relatively is out of your equipment whether it relatively is buggin you that lots why no longer attempt the patch, nuvaring, or iud. Lunelle or depo provera?
if i gain weight using lunelle then does that mean i will also gain weight on depo provera??? Asked by Cory Reimel 3 months ago.

most likely. with the depo shot, you are GUARANTEED to gain weight. i work as a certified nurses assistant & every patient i have seen on the shot has gained weight. i had the shot, i gained 20lbs, i also was on my period for 6 months. (what a waste of money for tampons) i recommend sticking to lunelle. Answered by Foster Paulseth 3 months ago.

Lunelle Birth Control Answered by Tressa Wittenburg 3 months ago.

I'm not sure, but if you've already had at least one baby, you should use what I'm using. It's over 99.9% effective, and it lasts five years. It's the Mirena IUD. They insert this plastic thingy into your uterus. It exerts some hormones...not too much, just enough to prevent pregnancy. It's effective IMMEDIATELY, and if you decide you want another baby before the five years is up, you can have it taken out. Otherwise, in five years they'll have you an appointment and take it out anyway. You can have another put in after that if you so choose. It's really easy to put in and take out, and it's really effective. Talk to your doctor about it. Answered by Afton Riexinger 3 months ago.

birth control is extrememly dangerous. ask a nurse about it. not a doctor. there are many many many complications and risks taking birth control. search on the net. here is an expert from a cancer study. In contrast, a 1996 large scale international collaborative analysis of some 54 epidemiological studies, based on over 53,000 women with breast cancer and published in The Lancet in1996, demonstrated that use of the pill starting in adolescence increased risks of breast cancer by 60 percent. These risks are clearly underestimates as reflected by the authors 'recognition that "there is little information about use that ceased more than 20 years ago", a latency much too short to preclude further major increases in breast cancer rates. Reliance on studies based on such short latencies would have exculpated the carcinogenicity of asbestos, besides the majority of other recognized human carcinogens. Other better designed and well controlled studies have reported much higher risks of breast cancer for women starting use of the pill in their teens or early twenties, especially with use before a full term pregnancy and subsequent prolonged use, and among women with a family history of breast cancer. I have been off the birth control shot Lunelle since May 10th because I want to get pregnant. (I had been on it four about 4 years.) However, I still haven't gotten my fertility back yet. I say this because I still haven't gotten a period and I'm not pregnant. I know it's only been 2 months and I'm not really that worried yet, but I was just wondering if anyone out there has been on Lunelle and how long it took them to get their fertility back....Also, did you have any side effects from getting off Lunelle? Thanks, guys! Answered by Charis Gollob 3 months ago.

Sorry can't help ya. I couldn't take the pill, or any other kind of birth control that alters the body chemistry, cause it makes me have ovarian cysts. From what I've heard tho, it can sometimes take a while for everything to get back to normal. Hang in there....it'll all work itself out. Good Luck! Answered by Sandie Vanderstelt 3 months ago.

Can i get pregnant after getting my first lunelle shot?
i do not need a condom since i am married! -_- and i was not informed that i needed to wait. Asked by Fumiko Shriner 3 months ago.

All types of birth control need at least a month to get into your system because if you already have an egg inside you then getting the shot won't get rid of it. You have to wait til the egg is gone. And you can't be sure that it is gone until you get your period. Til then you are still unprotected. Answered by Lesa Hollinger 3 months ago.

If you used a condom, you wouldn't be asking this Answered by Valentine Menninger 3 months ago.

Can you get pregnant while on lunelle or the opther birth control shot?
Asked by Fredda Reninger 3 months ago.

No method of birth control is 100%. I had my tubes cut and they still said that 1 in 400 gets pregnant. There is no certain method besides getting a hysterectomy. But with the shot or pill, its 95% - 99% effective. Answered by Kary Rombach 3 months ago.

There is a certain risk with ANY birth control method, including the injectables. Answered by Annemarie Rudo 3 months ago.
