I used the two months of samples and when i found out that it would cost 60 dollars a month to fill it i called my gyno and she put me on Microgestin fe 1.5/30 My question is, do i have to wait another month after starting the microgestin for it to be effective against pregnancy or is it effective right away? Answered by Arden Zamzow 1 year ago.

To protect against pregnancy the Microgestin should be effective within 7 days. Also, on the finance front you can let the doctor know that you like the Loestrin and want to stay on it but would like to get samples instead. I do this myself whenever I am on the pill. Microgestin Fe 1.5/30 vs. Loestrin 24 1/20...?
I have been taking Microgestin Fe 1.5/30 for a while now and I went to a new doctor and they prescribed me Loestrin 24 1/20 because I thought that was what I was taking. Is it much of a difference and will it affect me badly in any way?? Asked by Chas Shelhamer 1 year ago.

Every woman's body is different but both are excellent (and popular) forms of birth control. Only way to know how it will affect you is to wait and see. If you don't like it, switch back. Answered by Iraida Dunnahoo 1 year ago.

I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem? I was on Loestrin with no problems for 2 years, and had to switch to Microgestin FE 1.5/30. (The Planned Parenthood I was going to signed some sort of agreement that they would only prescribe generic BCPs.) Microgestin has been okay for the most part, but I'm almost suspicious that I'm getting sugar pill packs some months. All of a sudden, when I get a new pack, I'll start bleeding. I'll basically have a regular period for the entire freakin' month. As soon as I get the next pack, though, the bleeding completely stops within four hours. This has been true no matter where I fill the prescription. Has this happened to anyone else. This is the third time this is happened to me and I'm getting really frustrated, because none of the clinics I can afford to go to will prescribe Loestrin. Answered by Ester Workings 1 year ago.

I have never had this problem. I would recommend getting in touch with the clinic to let them know that you are concerned about all this bleeding and want to see about trying another generic for Loestrin (there is often more than one generic for the same brand name pill). If not, then ask if they would be willing to prescribe the medication if they can get samples of the Loestrin straight from the manufacturer. Another option for you is to check with the city health dept to see if they offer a free Women's health clinic that could be of help. Answered by Lezlie Underdown 1 year ago.

I take the equal beginning manipulate, been taking it for 2 months now. My boobs have been killing me in the beginning!!! Felt so heavy & obtained a cup dimension better.. now there only a lil delicate lol I had very dangerous bood swings, have been even inflicting me issues with my husband however now the temper swings are fitting much less of a factor. Also cravings omg I crave such a lot chocolate!!! Like every day now. The results will have to final approximately three months for the reason that your frame is being used to the capsule an all... oh yeah you can even have holiday via bleeding/recognizing. I don't have any issues with the capsule as I did in the beginning. Take it for a minimum of three months & if any results rather hassle you than see your Doctor so you'll check out some thing distinctive Answered by Frances Pelis 1 year ago.

I have been on Loestrin 24 Fe for about a year now and for the first few months it worked really great and the last 4 months it's been terrible. Two periods per month, break through bleeding. I'm assuming since it's the lowest dose, that it's just not working properly anymore and was considering to switching to the Loestrin 1.5/30. Is anyone on this? Can anyone tell me experience with it? Do you think since my body reacted fine with the Loestrin 24 Fe that it would be ok with this new pill just a higher dosage of hormones? Answered by George Niedbalec 1 year ago.

I used this formulation for years without any problems at all. I could skip periods if I needed/wanted to, and knew almost to the minute when I would get my period. Minimal cramping, no breakthrough bleeding, very little PMS in general. For ME, it worked great. All you can do is give it a try and see what happens. Answered by Alphonso Pisco 1 year ago.

I have been on Loestrin for purely some twelve months now and prefer it! i began out out with Ortho-Lo and it made me very nauseas so I switched to Loestrin. I even have not had a era pondering the reality that the many times happening month i became as quickly as on it. once you're a sort of persons that feels strange approximately now no longer getting your era then this could now no longer be the right one for you. some persons besides the undeniable fact that get a mushy era, besides the undeniable fact that i became as quickly as continuously mushy to commence with so i do no longer. i could exceptionally propose this producer of BC!! it might desire to be lots larger than risking it once you're actually no longer able for toddlers :) Answered by Leora Henaire 1 year ago.

Okay, so I am wondering if by switching to microgestin, I will have a chance of gaining weight? I was on Loestrin for the last year, and I had only gotten my period every 2 months which drove me absolutely nuts because when it didn't come a certain month it would scare me. So, I went to a new doctor and explained to her my frustration, and when I went to go fill the prescription I was handed microgestin. My question is do you think by upping my hormone intake with the new pill, that I will gain weight? Or will it not matter since my body is already used to taking the pill? Answered by Tresa Suggett 1 year ago.

I take microgestin and it causes me to have my period every month and it lightens it.. But I don't like it so much. It didn't cause me to gain weight but if all you're looking for is just to have your period every month then it's good. Answered by Kaci Arendash 1 year ago.

Answered by Kathe Tipsword 1 year ago.

I took LoEstrin 1.5/30 for a great number of years and only recently switched to YAZ to help control my perimenopausal symptoms---especially my mood swings. Give the LoEstrin a try...its a mono-phasic pill, so you don't have hormone fluctuations all month long. If you find you're not doing well on it, there are tons of other formulations out there that you can try. YAZ and Yasmin are both formulated to help with extreme moodiness, so if LoEstrin doesn't work for you, maybe that might be the next one(s) to try. Good luck. Answered by Belia Dibenedict 1 year ago.

I was on ortho tri cyclen lo for about 3 years and got tired of it. It was making me have problems with sex, got constant yeast infections and made me feel so irritable all the time. I just currently switched to loestrin24. And I havn't felt moody or anything. Ive been spotting a few times. But i havent been on it long enough to say much. Answered by Robert Hagin 1 year ago.

I've had a very good experience with loestrin. I used to get so many pregnancy symptoms from all the other birth control pills, even though I wasn't pregnant. This is the on;y one that has worked for me. Answered by Julian Portugal 1 year ago.

I've been taking Loestrin Fe 1.5/30 for a month now. Everything has been alright except that I've developed some acne. I'm going to talk to my doctor about Loestrin 1/20 to see if that may help since it's lower dose. If you're prone to acne, I wouldn't use Loestrin. Ortho-Tri Cyclen lo helps with acne, which is what I might also talk to my doctor about. I haven't heard much about the new Generess Fe though. Answered by Hayden Bruni 1 year ago.

I just wanted to know if I only need to provide the card at the pharmacy or will I need to provide any other documents (ID card, etc.) Since my husband sometimes collects my prescriptions for me, will he still be able to...? I was given the sample pack from my doctor and have completed that particular pack. I almost lost my breath to hear that the one pill that seems to be working for me after having to switch pills repeatedly over 3 yrs due to bad side effects cost $65.00, OMG..what the hell??? Thank you in advance for ur answers... Answered by Jerrie Lobalbo 1 year ago.

The new version of Loestrin (which is still only sold under the brand name and thus is more expensive) has 24 active pills (so the whole "shorter periods" thing). However, the old version (which has the exact same ingredients in each pill) has only 21 active pills (which is the traditional standard) and is now available as a generic. The generic is available in two different dosage levels, either "Loestrin Fe 1/20 Tabs 28" (which is the same dosage as Loestrin 24) or "Loestrin 1.5/30." I'm sure your doctor will know about this and can change your prescription. I get Loestrin Fe 1/20 Tabs 28 for $24/month or $68 for a 3 month supply at my pharmacy. Way cheaper than the brand version!! I used to use Yaz (and loved it), but my insurance changed and it, too became over $60/month. Yikes! Answered by Thea Kupper 1 year ago.

I started taking birth control(loestrin fe 1.5/30 I think it is. And I first started taking it the second day of my period and had my period for 15 days but half of it was mostly like dry looking blood. I've been taking it for about a month and the entire time I've been moody I gained about 7 pounds and I've felt very nauseous especially to certain smells, also had cramping pretty much throughout the whole month. today I've been having weird cramps that hurt a lot and have been bothering me all day and I just went to the bathroom to find old looking blood but not that much. Is this just because of the birth control or could I possibly be pregnant? Answered by Pamela Bellott 1 year ago.

If you have been having unprotected sex than there is a possibility that you could be pregnant because birth control takes a while to kick in. I would definitely recommend you go see a doctor because if you are pregnant, continuing to take birth control can be very fatal. Answered by Rosalee Stawicki 1 year ago.

birth control raises your hormone levels (makes you gain weight, boobs are bigger, heightened sensitivity, mood is affected) you should read the instructions that came with it. you're supposed to start the pack the day AFTER you start your period. it made your normal cycle all wacky, because it prevents you from having a period the first 3 weeks. its a good idea not to have sex for the first month, so your body can regulate itself and the pill will be fully effective. take the pill every day at the same time.
