What is the source of TPN lipids?
What is the source of the lipids used for total parenteral nutrition? (E.g., soy, egg, byproduct, etc.) The question came up about IntraLipid brand, but I would be interested in any brand you know about. The question came up in class and the lecturer didn't know. I tried to find it online but couldn't. Asked by Jocelyn Pomarico 1 year ago.

The brand I am most familiar with is called Liposyn, available as a 10% and 20% emulsion. The lipid source is from Safflower oil and Soybean oil with egg yolk phospholipids as the emulsifier.. EDIT: IntraLipid is a 10% emulsion of Soybean oil with egg yolk phospholipids as the emulsifier. Answered by Jasper Ostrye 1 year ago.
