Answered questions

Will lidocaine hydrochloride show up as caocaine on a drug test?
Asked by Joeann Keams 1 year ago.

The metabolytes of lidocaine hydrochloride are not the same as cocaine. The drug test looks for the presence of the metabolytes. Therefore, you will not test positive. If you are taking lidocaine hydrochloride, your doctor should be able to clear this up for you because this stuff is administered to stop your heart from beating too rapidly or out of rhythm. Difference Between Lidocaine Hydrochloride and Lidocaine?
What are the differences is it that the hydrochloride factor allows solubility with water? Are they both equally as potent? Asked by Shannon Dehass 1 year ago.

You are correct in that the hydrochloride form is soluble in water and the lidocaine base is not soluble. The lidocaine molecule has a nitrogen atom with a lone pair of electrons that can quaternize with the H+ ion from the HCl. So when the hydrochloride is formed the molecule now has a polar component and is very water-soluble. The solution can now be injected and will act as a local anesthetic. The hydrochloride form is equally potent; in fact it has to be water-soluble to take effect as an anesthetic. Answered by Vanna Wernett 1 year ago.

Organic Chemistry Help - Lidocaine?
Can anyone explain, in rather good detail, why Lidocaine Hydrochloride is significantly more soluble in water than Lidocaine? Please help! Thank you so much, in advance. Asked by Ursula Icardo 1 year ago.

By making it into a salt, lidocaine hydrochloride dissolves in water due to ion-dipole interactions between lidocaine hydrochloride and water. Lidocaine itself only interacts weakly via London dispersion forces with water, so it does not dissolve that readily in water. Answered by Eliseo Estain 1 year ago.

How can you turn liquid lidocaine into a powder form?
Is this possible? Asked by Cherlyn Sedivy 1 year ago.

Lidocaine hydrochloride is a powder unless it is dissolved in water. Depending on what the liquid form is, one may be able to evaporate the water and use the solid residue that remains. The other way is to "free base" the alkaline drug, extract it into an organic solvent, and precipitate it with gaseous hydrogen chloride. I don't recommend that unless you have some chemistry experience. DK Answered by Gabrielle Patchin 1 year ago.

How can you turn liquid lidocaine into a powder form?
Is this possible? Asked by Clay Glueckert 1 year ago.

DK Answered by Larry Lumsden 1 year ago.

Asked by Elvera Yakel 1 year ago.

It is also a local anesthetic. Don't assume because it has "caine" in it's name it is a derivative of cocaine because it really isn't - kind of like assuming a cat and caterpillar are related. Difference Between Lidocaine Hydrochloride and Lidocaine?
What are the differences is it that the hydrochloride factor allows solubility with water? Are they both equally as potent? Asked by Song Helde 1 year ago.

Answered by Cindi Crumly 1 year ago.

It is also a local anesthetic. Don't assume because it has "caine" in it's name it is a derivative of cocaine because it really isn't - kind of like assuming a cat and caterpillar are related. Well here we go everyone is telling you NO like you are an idiot for thinking so, i hate to say it but ABSOLUTELY YES you can get a false positive, i am on an outpatient program that used to do weekly urines, now i get monthly....so i dont care what they tell u i will show u in black and white if i have too that it can happen. My drug of choice was heroin. never messed with uppers so obviously not a fan of cocaine. In fact i never touched any other drug....1st time i got a FALSE POSITIVE was when i had dental work done and was injected in my gums with lidocaine, 3 days prior to the test. I was so pissed because i knew i didnt do it, but at the same time i didnt connect the 2 until my counselor mentioned it. 2nd time it happened i came up POSITIVE was when my back went out and i was given lidocaine patches to put on my skin...a lot of people will tell u things like poppy seed bagels isnt enough to give u a positive for opiates and the lidocaine and the fentanyl bla bla bla BUT IT DOES HAPPEN!!!! IT HAPPENED TO ME 2Xs Answered by David Aaland 1 year ago.

i dont think so, lidocaine is only related to cocaine by the NAME. but the fact that they are both -aine is because they are both anesthetics but they have completely different chemical compositions and different metabolites with cocanies' being ecognine and lidocaine being something else, however it is possible the two have some metabolites that are the same which would give a positive drug test. Difference Between Lidocaine Hydrochloride and Lidocaine?
What are the differences is it that the hydrochloride factor allows solubility with water? Are they both equally as potent? Asked by Jolanda Moonen 1 year ago.

Answered by Leo Ritenour 1 year ago.

Organic Chemistry Help - Lidocaine?
Can anyone explain, in rather good detail, why Lidocaine Hydrochloride is significantly more soluble in water than Lidocaine? Please help! Thank you so much, in advance. Asked by Lianne Zwiefel 1 year ago.

By making it into a salt, lidocaine hydrochloride dissolves in water due to ion-dipole interactions between lidocaine hydrochloride and water. Lidocaine itself only interacts weakly via London dispersion forces with water, so it does not dissolve that readily in water. Answered by Clorinda Sawinski 1 year ago.

How can you turn liquid lidocaine into a powder form?
Is this possible? Asked by Waylon Harloff 1 year ago.

DK Answered by Dominque Jeffery 1 year ago.

mix with 75% inositol powder to 25% baking soda and mix well then microwave in pyrex or plastic container 15 seconds at a time (shouldn't take more than 60 seconds total) until it turns hard as a rock just be careful not to over cook it Answered by Mac Gilhooley 1 year ago.
