Is there a health risk involved with washing my male genitalia with Hibiclens?
I used it in place of soap, and I'm afraid a small amount might have entered my Urethra.

Hibiclens (chlorhexidine topical) is a Chlorhexidine topical antiseptic. Chlorhexidine topical destroys germs on the skin before surgery to reduce the risk of infection, or may also be used to treat acne. Why you would use this to wash with on your genitals is....Beyond me! Or the fact that you have it is questionable. Especially since you would have directions/warnings and such on the bottle. It states that you should avoid getting this medication in the eyes, ears, nose, or mouth. Which would include not getting it into your urethra. They don't list this, because if they listed every possibility, there would be no room left on the bottle. I guess they hope people will use common sense with things like this....Which you didn't! Water alone would have been fine to wash with if you had no soap. I always thought it was stupid that they put a warning sign on hair dryers to not use them in the bath or shower.....Now I understand why! Yet people will, and not read the labels I guess I'll stop before I get in trouble.....I will say this and don't care if I'm deleted, you are weird and crazy! Go to the Doctor if anything further arises from this. Burning, pain, bleeding, etc. N.B. Next time you shower and don't have soap, and you ran out of Hibiclens.....No, bleach isn't good to use either! Answered by Vilma Breitenberg 4 months ago.
Can hibiclens cause aging of the skin if used everyday?
Since I started using hibiclens I have not had one breakout. I have tried many acne products and nothing works like hibiclens. I know it is not safe to get it in my eyes, nose and mouth. My question is could it cause my skin to age quicker if I use it everyday?

Hibiclens contains the active antibacterial agent, chlorhexidine gluuconate, which is effective against killing the acne bacteria. Based off of the preliminary research that I've found, the studies done on this antibacterial agent is small and dated. Benzoyl peroxide is still considered the GOLD-STANDARD for acne because it has the most ongoing and extensive research. Regarding the aging effect of the agent, I've not found any research on that. There's fragrance and alcohol in the product, but the blue bottle one only has 4% alcohol, so it's not a big deal. I don't think you should worry on this. It's kind of like a antibacterial hand soap. Just put moisturizer on afterwards. Make sure you wear sunscreen. That's the best anti-aging product. Answered by Santana Zappulla 4 months ago.
Why does Hibiclens say not to use on genitals? Are they going to hurt my little guys?
My PA piercing got infected and my Doc told me to use this. The box says not to use on genitals, but I figure my Doc knows his stuff. I read that people say "It gets rid of the good bacteria as well as the bad", so if that's all...The only good bacteria in that region, I can think of, is my...

Double the Benadryl dose and keep putting the Ivy-Dry spray on or get some Calamine Lotion, that might work better. It is okay to double the Benadryl dose, I did it for an allergic reaction that I had and talked with a doctor and he said that doubling the dose for a short period of time is okay. You might also want to take a Tagamet anti-acid tablet, that also acts as a antihistamine. Answered by Marlin Babiarz 4 months ago.

Can I use Hibiclens on my cat?
Neinscrubs, you're an awful person. I saw the racist and homophobic comments you posted on other questions and I've reported you. You should be ashamed of yourself for being nasty to people who are looking for help.

He has fleas and I can't get him the meds for it until Friday, when I get paid. He is so miserable! Can I use a diluted solution of Hibiclens (clorhexadine) to give him a bath? Or can I use my own shampoo (Aveeno)? I don't want to harm him, but I hate how uncomfortable he is, and I'be run out of normal flea shampoo. He loves baths, so I'm not worried about that part of things. Please help, if you have any ideas? Maybe just baking soda? Vinegar? Plain warm water? Thanks! And please don't be hateful, I love my cat more than anything in the world and paid rent on Friday which took up my entire check. I have literally no money or I would get his flea meds right now. Answered by Tangela Hoaglund 4 months ago.
Don't use the hibiclens, it won't do a thing for the fleas and may be toxic. Your best bet is a bath with a bit of dish washing liquid. Do you have a flea comb? They are cheap and available in any grocery store. Best to avoid human shampoos as they all continue ingredients not meant to be ingested. Answered by Trinidad Broenneke 4 months ago.
Of all those choices, I think a little of your Aveeno is the best. Hibiclens gets absorbed through the skin and is toxic to small animals. Have you tried a flea collar? that would be a long term solution. Good luck Answered by Belle Spletzer 4 months ago.
Is hibiclens effective to remove ringworm on skin?
is it to remove or just to prevent?
Asked by Myrta Manera 4 months ago.
No, you need an anti fungal cream like Lotrimin---Hibiclens helps remove germs to prepare a body to be cleaner prior to surgery, but it's not going to help with ringworm. Answered by Gerard Murton 4 months ago.
