Ephedrine with GUAIFENESIN or just Ephedrine.?
I want ephedrine actually.
Asked by Elly Fadale 6 months ago.
Guaifenesin thins out the mucus in your respiratory tract, so that when you cough, it's productive. You cough the mucus up, so it's no longer there to irritate you. You cough less and your throat is less sore. I think ephedrine's action works against guaifenesin's in some ways. I don't know why you'd want any other ingredient except plain guaifenesin. It's available as plain Robitussin cough syrup, Mucinex tablets, or generically as Tussin cough syrup. It really does make the latter stages of a cold more bearable. It acts quickly. You take it every four hours. Answered by Thelma Bucaram 6 months ago.
Guaifenesin has not been banned. It is available in the over-the-counter medication called "Mucinex." It's not the Guaifenesin that is the problem--it's the ephedrine and pseudophedrine (Sudafed) that they use to make Meth from. They take your information so they can track who is buying it and in what quantities. Answered by Lucille Rabello 6 months ago.
i'm having a dry cough, is it ok if i treat it with Guaifenesin?
Asked by Owen Swepson 6 months ago.
Guaifenesin is a very SAFE medication so it wouldn't be any trouble to try it out. On the other hand... some folks find it not to be very helpful so you may want to buy only a small amount to try at the beginning. It's generally recommended to take it with extra water. I'll leave it at that as your avatar is instructing me to shut the **** up at this time. Answered by Deb Goyen 6 months ago.
Is guaifenesin good for clearing mucus in the sinuses or only good for chest mucus?
Asked by Erlinda Palecek 6 months ago.
Guaifenesin is an expectorant, which means it is used to help loosen and break up congestion in the lower airways. It is unlikely to help with nasal congestion. Luckily, guaifenesin (mucinex) comes in a form with pseudofed in it, which is used for the nasal symptoms. So if you get the combination tablet (mucinex DM) you should have the sinuses and chest issues covered. Answered by Steve Wickson 6 months ago.
That is good to clean your mucus membranes. I have taken this drug before. Guaifenesin it will clean both . But it will make you at times a little sick at your stomach. Answered by Leida Sherman 6 months ago.

Guaifenesin Recreational Use Answered by Dorla Elgin 6 months ago.
Guaphenesin is generally used in chesty cough mixtures - its designed to break down and liquify the mucus in your chest, to help you 'hoick it out' easier. Guaphenesin is usually quite readily available straight over the counter. Not too sure about the higher doses though. Answered by Luciano Kovacik 6 months ago.
and also how it works , mechanism of action
Asked by Rosita Depolo 6 months ago.
just straight guaifenesin? im searching the web, and everything is saying that there isnt much to be expected/not much to worry about, but you can call a poison control center or pharmacist if youre worried or feeling funny at all. all the things on the web are talking about Guaifenesin and Codeine, Guaifenesin and Acet., etc. so if its just straight and plain guaifenesin, i dont think there is probably much to worry about. The manufacturer's websites should have a MSDS sheet which should contain that information. You could also get it from the Physician's Desk Reference. Answered by Juanita Wei 6 months ago.

I don't know what dxm is, but guaifenesin is an expectorant, meaning it loosens phlegm so you can cough UP whatever is in your sinuses or lungs. It is also used sometimes as a laxative/cleanser/detoxer due to the fact that it also loosens mucus in your colon making you a human slip and slide. This is only appropriate a few times a year. It is dangerous to overuse guaifenesin because with its laxative properties, it can lead to dehydration (where you poop out all your fluids) and dependence (where you can't go to the bathroom without it). Safe dose is up to 800mg every 6-8 hours under a doctors care, usually for upper respiratory infection. This is usually given with antibiotics, to help move the infection while the antibiotics kill it off...and the duration of your antibiotics is about the same length of time to take guaifenesin. If you are rummaging around in a collection of old meds just to find a buzz, please reconsider. Don't use anything that is expired, in fact, please don't try to get high with over the counter pills at all. Most don't lead to intoxication, but they can have serious damaging effects to any number of organ systems. Answered by Dania Tabet 6 months ago.
you wont feel high. but taking all of them is dangerous Answered by Kathlene Silbert 6 months ago.
Do u knw abt Mucinex (Guaifenesin),is it good to cure nasal/head congestion??
Asked by Grayce Tagle 6 months ago.
Guaifenesin is supposed to thin out mucus. I don't think it is clear that it particularly effective. Mucinex is probably the most expensive brand of guaifenesin. Try a store brand or even Robitussin. Answered by Robin Figura 6 months ago.
In one word.....Yes. Answered by Pa Rohrs 6 months ago.
Guaifenesin, usp 100 mg to help get pregnant?
Asked by Angelique Tutuska 6 months ago.
Yes some people swear by Guaifenesin it has an ingredient in it that also can thin out your cervical mucous making it easier for sperm to travel and increase the likely hood of fertilization. If you buy Guaifenesin make sure that that is the ONLY ingredient in it for it to work. It is found in some forms of robutussion and mucinex which can be purchased OTC from drugstores. I read that you should start taing it a few days prior to ovulation and during ovulation. They recommend 3tbsp of robitussion daily during this period. Or two pills of mucinex. I think with the stronger version of mucinez you only need one pill. mucinex can be a lil expensive but they also have cheaper generic forms. Alot of people contribute themselves concieving due to this remedy and of course if in doubt consult your dr to figure out if this is safe for you. It is safe for most healthy people.-good luck Answered by Samantha Peteuil 6 months ago.
Guaifenesin is an expectorant drug used to treat throat and chest congestion. It's the active ingredient in many over-the-counter cough syrups. I don't see how it would help you get pregnant. Answered by Pamela Gigstad 6 months ago.
