What is: Drixoral Cough Liquid Caps called in Canada?
Im wondering what Drixoral Cough Liquid Caps are called by brand name in Canada, Or if they even sell them. If you would be wiling to answer thanks. :)

Drixoral products are produced by Schering-plough, and are available in Canada - that said - they are very hard to find, and you may have to ask the druggist to special order them for you (even though they are OTC) - which he should be able to do easily. I don't know why more places dont carry them - their 12 hour decongestant tablets are about the only thing that work for me... Answered by Leilani Kenderdine 2 years ago.

Is it safe to take drixoral during pregnancy?
I've been sneezing constantly. Drixoral is for allergies. I wonder how long this is going to last? I've heard that it may last the entire pregnancy?! Probably not but the last few days have been really annoying. Mynose is getting sore from all this blowing.

Rather than taking Drixoral, take Benadryl. Benadryl has been proven safe during pregnancy. I have included a website you should visit regarding the use of drixoral during pregnancy. Answered by Andria Sandlin 2 years ago.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT DRIXORAL IS, BUT I WOULDN'T TAKE NO MEDICATION UNLESS YOU HAVE PERMISSION FROM YOUR DOCTOR, BECAUSE WHAT EVER YOU TAKE THE BABY GETS. SO BE VERY CAREFUL ON WHAT YOU DO TAKE. Answered by Roslyn Robenson 2 years ago.
Why was Drixoral taken off the market?
I have been looking for Drixoral everywhere but I can't seem to find it. Does anyone know what happened to it?
Asked by Glen Murel 2 years ago.
According to Schering-Plough, the manufacturer. They are moving the manufacturing plant, and Drixoral will be off the market for ~1 year until they move in. Answered by Regan Osowicz 2 years ago.
Why can't I find Drixoral anymore?
I have a cold and Drixoral is that only thing that ever worked for me. Now I can't find it anywhere? Is it still available? Did the meth heads screw this one up for me?
Asked by Hortencia Langerman 2 years ago.
You can still buy them south of the border or in Canada whichever closer for you. Answered by Krissy Ollie 2 years ago.
Its no longer being sold in the US. The part of it that was most likely helping your cold though, was the pse (pseudoephedrine) which is in a lot of other medications like sudafed. Just, because pse is a precursor to meth, you usually will have to buy it at the checkout line (most places I've seen put like tickets where the medication is) and are limited as to how much you can actually buy. What cold medicine work? I used to take drixoral, it's no longer avaiable?
Cold/flu is killing me, watery eyes, congestion, sneezing, coughin' etc, what should I take to relieve my cold symptoms? Drixoral is no longer avaiable, any alternative? help plz

Nothing is going to shorted the duration of the cold virus. The cold virus is self limiting and will resolve spontaneously. It shouldn't persist for longer than a week and the worst of the symptoms should peak after 24-36 hours. Get rest, push fluids and take paracetamol. There is weak evidence that Echinacea might decrease the severity symptoms and weak evidence shows that Zinc may reduce the severity of the cold symptoms in children but none will have any effect on the duration of symptoms. The evidence for echinacea and zinc is very weak, I wouldn't bother if I were you. Answered by Margy Polasky 2 years ago.
Get some fresh ginger, chop up a piece (ca 3cm )and boil it up with water (a cup). Let simmer for about 5 min. If you have chamomile, do blend that in to. Have some honey and some cinnamon powder in your cup and poor the ginger-tea over it! Enjoy!! Best cure I know :) Just chewing on ginger root is also good, but can be a little hot for the taste buds... Answered by Brittani Patmon 2 years ago.
Why is Drixoral no longer available for purchase in US pharmacies?
Asked by Sarina Murry 2 years ago.
I believe the company stopped making it or at least that is what I was told. Answered by Mozella Sfatcu 2 years ago.
I called a local Walgreen's pharmacist and visited a few medical websites in order to find the answer to your question. Drixoral is not available through Walgreens for unexplained reasons according to the pharmacist. One medical site (not Schering Co.) reported that distribution was halted, temporarily, to allow Schering to move the lab responsible for production of the drug to another site. I have spent several minutes trying to find equivalent allergy medications for patients when specific brands are discontinued. Your healthcare provider may be willing to do this for you. Print out the ingredients and doses regarding Drixoral and ask your doctor about similar brands that may be available. Some people get comparable results from chlorpheniramine or brompheniramine (in comparison to dexbrompheniramine). Many of these older antihistamines are being outpaced by the newer generation, non-sedating brands (Claritin, Zyrtec and others). Market pressures are causing the disappearance of some of the first generation antihistamines. Again, get advice from your doctor or pharmacist before trying a different antihistamine medication. The alternative drug may also cause sedation and fatigue. Drug interactions (with other medications you are taking) and other possible adverse effects should also be considered. I think it is but you have to sign your life away to get it from behind the counter. Answered by Cesar Drissel 2 years ago.
