Which is stronger vicodin 5-500 or darvocet n-100?
Asked by Trang Rinderknecht 1 year ago.
Vicodin is stronger. Darvocet is a crap drug. We rarely use it in my hospital. BTW, DArvocet-n-100 also contains tylenol. So, the real comparison is the hydrocodone component of Vicodin vs the proproxyphene component of Darvocet-n-100. Hydrocodone wins hands down. Answered by Vallie Lowcks 1 year ago.

I've had both & I think the vicodin 5-500 is stronger Answered by Nena Dearruda 1 year ago.
Yes..but not much. To me Darvocet is like taking Tylenol. Answered by Carey Dukeshier 1 year ago.
the narcotic in vicodin is the stronger of the two, but each also contains acetaminophen (the active ingriedient in Tylenol). Long term (over 10 days of continuous use, say 6 tabs/day) may result in liver damage. Alcohol use increases the possiblity liver damage. There are alot of peple who died of liver failure due to acetaminophen or the acetaminophen/alcohol mix. Answered by Nova Pacific 1 year ago.
lol, definitly vicodin 5-500 Answered by Matthew Pfeifle 1 year ago.
Vicodin (hydrocodone) is the stronger of these two pain relievers. Answered by Charity Reagen 1 year ago.

Lortab and darvocet n100 in the same day?
I took a lortab 7.5 (old prescription) around 6:00 p.m today because my back hurt badly and i was wondering would it hurt me to take my normal prescription of 1 darvocet n 100 before bed?
Asked by Kari Weeks 1 year ago.
Darvocet n 100 is a combination of a narcotic pain reliever (Propoxyphene) and Acetaminophen (Tylenol). Lortab is a combination of another narcotic pain reliever (Hydrocodone) and Acetaminophen... As strange as it sounds, the narcotics taken together even in a short period of time are not that big of a problem - unless you are planning to drive or something else that reduced reflex can be problematic. The real problem is the amount of Acetaminophen that you could potentially consume combining these drugs - especially if you drink alcohol. It takes a surprisingly small amount of Acetaminophen in combination with alcohol to cause liver failure in some individuals. You should not drink anything alcoholic while taking these. Of course, if you REALLY overdose on the narcotics, you can shut down your cardiorespiratory system which can cause death, but in all honesty, he Acetaminophen in the combination amounts of these two drugs will cause you more permanent harm than the narcotics. It will be out in 2-3 days after taking it so you are 100% fine. Answered by Daphine Schmerge 1 year ago.
You will pass with flying colors. If you were a regular user of opiates it would take at most 7 days to get out of your system. Since you only took one and it's been 11 days you have nothing to worry about. Answered by Catrice Leyden 1 year ago.

I asked you about the first scan, they found the liver problem in the follow-up. What is that? Here are the scores that concerned the radiologist? bun 27,sgot/ast 145,sgpt/alt 117 She needs a pain-killer.Tramadol was suggested but the literature advises possible liver problems and caution if allegric to coedine??? Yes Darvocet N-100 is addictive, the propoxyphene part of it is...the other part APAP is just an abreviation for Acetamenophen (Tylenol). Too much Tylenol can cause liver problems, if she's been on the darvocet for long periods of time,or other pain relievers containing tylenol then yes, she can develop liver problems....I hope she isnt taking any more tylenol on the side....if she needs more pain relief then she should take something like Advil,Ibuprofen,Aleve...but no more tylenol. I could be totally wrong on this but i know there is 100 mg of the propoxyphen (for sure), and 650 mg of the APAP (tylenol), it should say on your bottle or in the paper work that came with the prescription..it would say something like Propoxyphene Napsylate/APAP 100-650, the first set of numbers is how many mg's are in the first part of the drug name and the second set of numbers is how many mg's are in the second part of the drug name......You need to talk to her doctor Answered by Carie Enriguez 1 year ago.
If it helps for reference, SGOT should range from 15-35, SGPT should be 10-40. BUN should be 10-25. My SGOT was 121 5 months ago, and now is normal, so there is hope. Answered by Siobhan Fausto 1 year ago.
darvocet does contain opiates, so the opiate is addictive. however, out of all of the opiates, darvocet 100 is actually one of the lesser doses of opiates, and one of the most less addictive drugs available for pain (at least out of the drugs that contain opiates). darvocet is used for mild to moderate pain, rather than severe pain. so while it can be addictive if it is misused, it actually isnt as hard on the body as something like percocet. tramadol is a good drug for pain that does not contain any opiates, but also is used for only mild to moderate pain. for some people it provides great pain coverage, but for others it doesnt work at all. it is worth a shot for your wife if she does not want to use any opiates. another thing you may want to consider is advil if your wife isnt allergic or doesnt have any problems with intestinal bleeding. ask your doctor if taking advil is ok for her - it will help to reduce inflammation and pain.
