Can Ciprodex cause an ear infection to get worse?
Well it would be nice to simple phone my doctor but I've never heard of one that doesn't need you to pay them money first
Asked by Kenny Pieroni 3 months ago.
I've had an ear infection in both ears for awhile and went through antibiotics in pill and drop form, vinegar solution, and now ciprodex.. on my 4th day I woke up in the middle of the night with my left ear in a lot more pain than normal I thought I was going to have to go to the emergency room. I am afraid to continue using the drops because it seems obvious it was the drops. Is it possible I could have used too much in that ear? Or can a fan blowing on it all night cause this to happen? I want to go back to the doctor but I really don't want tubes in my ears. Answered by Yvette Ivery 3 months ago.
The Ciprodex would NOT (and could not) make your infection worse. Ciprodex is a mixture of an antibiotic and a topical corticosteroid to reduce inflammation. A fan blowing in your ear all night can actually cause an infection to feel worse (I know this from personal experience!). Keep taking the ciprodex. And if you need eustachian tubes, you need eustachian tubes. I have had to have a few sets in my younger years. And they defintely helped by drastically reducing the ear infections I was getting. Though I'm lucky to live in Canada. We don't pay our doctors or our surgeons directly. The only bill I have ever been given by a hospital was a $15/day extra charge because I wanted to be placed in a private room -- which I payed gladly. I have had multiple sets of tubes, appendectomy, recurrent brain tumours requiring brain surgery, etc and I did not see one bill. And the only thing I pay for at my docs office is if I need a doctor's note of some kind which isn't covered by our provinical coverage. Answered by Roselia Sherratt 3 months ago.

I have a son, Joey Niceforo, who is a young 27 year old tenor, with a group called "DESTINO" recording in Vancouver Bc, Canada. For the last few weeks Joey has had a cold. Just a few days ago he developed an ear ache, a swollen ear and loss of hearing. He was diagnosed with serous otitis media (middle ear infection). The major concern we have is that Joey and the Group DESTINO have been booked to open the Marie Osmond show in Disney World on April 3, Have a quick remedy for our son?? Joey's ear got better just before flying. He also got the special ear plugs for flying, and arrived in Florida, from Vancouver, on April 1st. On April 2nd he told us the ear was almost 100 percent, and he will, with the other, great DESTINO tenors be performing, in the COLORADO BALL ROOM DISNEY WORLD tonight at 7 pm. This help was so effective, and helpful, to our young Canadian tenor, Joey Niceforo. I'm sure this input and therapy advice will, and has helped others. Answered by Antoinette Ryneer 3 months ago.
Don't play Russian Roulette w/your hearing. Don't delay....phone the MD & tell'em what you just told me. She/he needs to hear this right away, & then tell'em how you wanna keep from getting tubes in your ears. You don't have any choices here...too much at stake. Good Luck, and best wishes for a speedy recovery (under your MD's care). Answered by Deonna Laboe 3 months ago.

Got prescribed Ciprodex Otic. It's Friday and my ears are still clogged and very sensitive to touch. Oh and I can barely hear out of that ear. Seems like my regular clinic isn't caring enough. Do I go back? It'll be my 4th time with no relief or solution. Answered by Santiago Friels 3 months ago.
Ciprodex Otic will only work if the infection is bacterial, if your infection was caused by a virus you have to waut for your body to fight it. Tale tylenol or ibuprofen for discomfort. Hold a warm pad to your ear to help relieve pain. Take an antihistamine to reduce congestion Give it a few days then go back if there is no improvement. Answered by Newton Pitstick 3 months ago.

i have an ear infection my doc told me i have two small rupture holes in two of my eardrums he prescribed ciprodex 4 drops in both ears for 7 days...when i instill the drops it just stays in my ear is that what it's supposed do?i mean doesn't it have to go through my eardrum pass the hole?
Asked by Antone Eggett 3 months ago.
Ciprodex is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic this fights bacteria in the body (ear). This kills bacteria by stopping the production of proteins needed for bacteria to survive.Yes you want this to stay in the ears to kill all bacteria And for the holes you may need to discuss this with your doctor and may need further treatments to close the holes. Ciprodex Ear Drops Effect Birth Control?
Do these ear drops for an ear infection effect birth control? (ciprofloxacin 0.3% and dexamethasone 0.1%)
Asked by Lani Brumleve 3 months ago.
ciprodex is a combination of an antibiotic and an anti inflammatory. antibiotics can make birth control less effective so use a backup such as a condom. antibiotics can also make your period late so just beware of that. Answered by Ross Dorado 3 months ago.

Can ciprodex be used on children who don't have ear tubes or swimmers ear but has an ear infection?
Asked by Martin Sweetland 3 months ago.
I checked the source below to get info on ciprodex. Ciprodex is prescribed by a medical provider. Ask your child's medical provider your question. You can also check with the pharmacist where you get your meds filled. Another source is asking customer service of the company that makes ciprodex. I cannot give you a definite yes or no to your question as it is a medical provider decision. Answered by Sharlene Dunnaway 3 months ago.

ear is very sensitive, ciprofloxacin and dexam..is ciprodex it is purely antibiotic otic suspension, if you have any perforation don't use and found any discharge it may worsen the situation, please leave the november dated immediately. Answered by Stephen Hearing 3 months ago.

Don't use if you have a perforation? That's exactly why most people use it (tubes, hole in the eardrum, etc) because it delivers the medicine rigth to the infection. Sigh....Don't ask the "internet". Go ask your doctor. Answered by Celia Butts 3 months ago.

I went swimming 3 days ago. When I came out of the water, my left ear was totally blocked. I panicked and tried everything including q tips, moving my head to try to get rid of water etc. But it didn't work. I went to an ENT and she sucked out the wax and I could hear 80% better. But she told me my ear was really red (probably because of the q tip) and put some red thing in my ear and told me not to take it out. The next day she took out the red thing and said my ear still looked red, she asked me if there was any pain and I said no because there really wasn't . She prescribed me Ciprodex and told me to start it the next day. As soon as I put in my first drop in to my ear , I couldn't hear anything and it became clogged again. I'm really freaking out and don't know if this is because of wax again or some side effect of ciprodex. I'm really scared it might be permanent. I won't be able to go to the ENT until Monday so I really need your help. Plus, I'm starting to doubt her anyway, please help. Answered by Modesto Wallaker 3 months ago.
