Cetirizine hydrochloride (zyrtec) from online pharmacy?
hi...i used an online pharmacy to buy 180 10 mg cetirizine hydrochloride pills (generic zyrtec...for allergies)...normally they are oval but the ones that came in the mail are round and unmarked. they came packaged in little boxes labeled cetirizine hydrochloride and it has all the info on the boxes and also the bubble packs but ive never seen them round and unmarked before. i just want to make sure that i didnt get ripped off and that they are in fact 10 mg of cetirizine hydrochloride. any help is appreciated. thanks!
generics never look like the brand name pills.

if you are concerned, call or email the pharmacy and double check that you got the right med, but if the package has good labeling then you should be ok

what is stronger 25 mg of diphenhydramine hydrochloride or 10 mg of cetirizine for insect bite type rash itch?
I have the cetirizine, but if the other would work better, I'd go get the Benadryl

You can call your local pharmacist for their opinion on this.

Personally, I'd recommend the Benadryl.
what is cetirizine hydrochloride?
i have a really bad cold and bunged up nose and i cant sleep because of it, i was looking for anything in the house that could help me sleep and i came across some cetirizine hydrochloride. I looked on google and found out its used to treat allergies and hayfever etc. What i want to know is will taking these help my bunged up nose in anyway?
Zyrtec - second generation anti-histamine. It doesn't necessarily relieve nasal congestion but prevents allergens from causing a release of local inflammatory mediators thus preventing the congestion from happening. The best short term solution would be a nasal corticosteroid for your symptoms but if you have a fever, then a nasal sympathomymetic such as neosynepherine might be better.
Hives... how can I treat this?
As a child, I didnt have hives. 5 yrs ago, I experienced my first hives "attack". It's just my body gradually became itchy... it was so itchy that I had to continuously scratch all over my body. But the more I scratch, the worse it got... in the end I just jumped to the shower and turned the temperature to max. It was so hot but at least it took away the itchiness.

For a while... after I stop showering, I felt the itch again. Anyway where I live, we dont usually go to doctor. We just go to pharmacy and ask for medicine. That's what I did and I bought medicine that treats itchiness. It works.. but do I have to keep taking this medicine for the rest of my life? I take this medicine every 2-3 days otherwise everywhere my body will come itchy and I wont last an hour..The medicine is Cetirizine Hydrochloride.

Also, not sure if this is related... but my skin has become ultra-sensitive since 5 yrs ago.

What can I do?
Cetrizine is Zyrtec. Benadryl treats hives better than Zyrtec. Benadryl does make you drowsy.
You have some kind of allergic reaction. You should go to an allergist. Sometimes, they can give you shots which will help with the allergy. Also, you can find what you are allergic to, and can avoid it. Whether or not you'll have to continue to take Zyrtec depends on the allergy.

Country Boy
I use to get those too. I believe it had to do with stress, I couldn't link it to anything else at the time. When things in my life got better the hives went away. How much benadryl are you taking? Maybe increase the dose?
How do make a sudden rash (hives/urticaria) go down as soon as possible? Urgent.?
My prom is on Thursday, and I've never had problems with my skin before. All of a sudden this rash has come up within the last week and I'm currently on a steroid cream and tablets called Cetirizine Hydrochloride which I have to take twice a day. The doctor advised me not to have my spray tan which is booked in for Wednesday evening, however I am wanting to go ahead with the spray tan, as I feel more confident and beautiful with a tan.
Are there any ways that you guys can advise to help my rash go down as soon as possible?
Thank you xxxxx

can i take cetirizine hydrochloride with inderal medicine?
sweet a
Yes you can take it. However, there is a minor interaction. You may notice that when you take both of these medications, the cetirizine may make you more drowsy than usual. Be cautious with this for the first few times, to see how it will effect you.

The way that this works, is that cetirizine usually does not make you drowsy because it does not get into your brain. Once cetirizine tries to get into your brain, there is a pump that pumps it right back out so it doesn't make you drowsy. However, inderal can make this pump not work as well, so more cetirizine can get into you brain without being pumped back out.

This is not something to worry about, but just be aware that it is possible that cetirizine may make you more drowsy when you take them together.

This may not be an issue for all people. Just monitor yourself, but everything should be fine.
Is Zyrtec hives relief the same as regular Zyrtec?
they were out of allergy zyrtec but they had hives relief zyrtec. Same active ingredient. anyone know of any differences?
not that i am aware unless there is other ingredients also.
Any effective home remedies for hives?
I have chronic hives due to allergies, and I'm undergoing allergy shots. I take antihistamines daily (Claritin), and at the advice of my pharmacist, use Ivarest for a topical lotion. However, I'd like a homeopathic treatment for hives. I've tried oatmeal baths, cold wet washcloths, and numerous other ointments with no real relief. Any other EFFECTIVE ideas?
Try applying a clay mask on a section of skin, then let it stay there for at least 4 hours. Do not use Aveda clay mask, they put so much oil in it that it has no way of drawing oil out of your skin. Try to get a mask that has as little extra stuff as possible.

I won't guarantee this will work, but you can try it for cheap, and there is no way it will hurt you. I get patches of eczema (which is an allergic reaction)and the patch will come back over and over again until I put a mask on the spot.
is it ok to take hydroxyzine and cetirizine together? hydroxyzine at night and cetirizine in the morning?
i was prescribed hydroxyzine for a rash on my skin that has developed (probably from contact with poison oak) and that just seems to knock me out at night. In the morning my grandmother gave me some cetirizine which is also used for allergies, but im not sure of the health effects of having both drugs in one's system. If you know anything about it, please share some information with me. Cheers!
Your best (and safest) bet would be to ask a pharmacist if there are any interactions listed between the drugs you're wanting to take. Doctors and pharmacists both have access to a database of drug and supplement interactions and they can tell you quickly if you can safely take them together or not.... anyone here will just have a best guess from searching on the internet (which isn't always accurate, as we all know) ;-) Good luck!
Can adults take Children's Motrin?
I am in my 20s but I have a hard time swallowing pills. Can I just take a double dose of children's liquid motrin for pain relief?
Yes adults can take it, it's completely harmless to adults.
What could be causing his hives?
Our 14 month old son had some type of allergic reaction last Saturday. We gave him a cracker with peanut butter on it (first time he'd ever had it) and he wouldn't eat it. Within five minutes of touching it, his face was red and he had hives. He did not have any other symptoms, so we washed him off and gave him some Zyrtec. His face returned to its normal color and the hives went down. On Sunday, the hives were back and he had a diaper rash (he's never had diaper rash before), with no other symptoms. We called his pediatrician on Monday, and they got him in on Tuesday. They gave him a dose of oral steroids and said this would calm everything down. They also diagnosed him with a peanut allergy, prescribed an epi-pen, and referred him to Children's Mercy for allergy testing. Today is Thursday and his hives are still present and seem to be getting worse. When I called the doctor's office, they didn't seem too worried and told me to just give it a day or two, that the hives would go down. My husband and I are racking our brains trying to figure out what is going on. We go for testing tomorrow, but now we're wondering if its a peanut allergy or if its something else. He just started eating a new kind of ham this weekend as well. It has honey in it. Has anyone ever heard of a honey allergy? Does anyone have any suggestions on what this could be? Thanks for your help! : )

Can I use Alavert (Loratadine) and Zyrtec (Cetirizine hydrochloride) at the same time?
The labeling does not warn against it, and they are two different active ingredients. Is it safe to use both of these at the same time? Please help. My allergies are really bad today and Alavert isn't working.
I suggest you call up your local pharmacy and just ask them. They are usually very friendly and will help you.
pseudoephedrine hydrochloride?
I failed a drug test for meth-amphetamine. I don't do drugs, so I was wondering if pseudoephedrine hydrochloride contained some type of ingredient to cause this. I took Sudafed 12 hour sinus relief.
yes it could of caused a positive result-- this is one of the chemicals used to make meth. it should be out of your system in 3 to 5 days-- ask for another test
How to get hive relief?
I have had hives since April 13th now. On Tuesday it will be 5 weeks. I saw an allergist at 3 1/2 weeks. I was so reactive off of the antihistamines he couldn't do allergy testing. Since going to the allergist I have been taking Zyrtec twice a day, Pepcid twice a day, Benadryl two tabs every 4-6 hours, last 4 days on Singulair before bedtime. I also read fish oil and antioxidants may help so I have been taking those supplements once a day. I have tried oatmeal and cornmeal baths. I fear I have what is going to be chronic hives. I know of a few people that have had to deal with hives for years. I have had back problems off and on since November of 2007. Had a microdisectomy in 5/08, reherniated my disc 5/09, spinal fusion L4-L5 1/12/10. Everything is going fine and my stress was getting better around the time i broke out in hives. A week before I broke out in hives my doctor released me and said everything was going great and I could return to work. So more then anything I was relieved to start getting back to a normal life. I've had a long couple of years and would like any suggestions. I have taking Prednisone which helps but my hives instantly come back after going off of it. I have been using calamine lotion, gold bond lotion, ivory soap, benadryl cream. I have mold in my apartment and am moving in 3 weeks. Could this be the culprit?
I have hives from an unknown cause.I am taking 1 xyzal daily.I am planning for pregnancy. Is it safe?
I am suffering from hives from almost 1 1/2 months.I was on a birthcontrol pill for almost 2 yrs and stopped about one month before I broke in to hives. The cause of hives is unknown-cud be weather, some antibiotic reaction, something I eat or hormone changes.Me and my husband are planning to have a baby.Is it safe to try for a baby while i'm on medication for hives...
This is something best answered by a doctor. Please do not risk your health and seek medical attention immediately.
Hives on back of head very itchy!?
I have recently broken out with a rash/hives all over my body. It seems every time one spot seems to clear up I start getting red itchy somewhere else...I am on prednisone and generic zyrtec and at night I have been taking benadryl. But the back of my head is always itchy no matter what. Its hard to get a cream of any kind on there because I have somewhat long hair, any suggestions for relief would be greatly appreciated.
I had the same type of issue a month ago. It was horrid! I feel your pain. What I did was part my hair where the itchy spot was and slather anit itch cream on there. That was the only thing that helped. Good luck.
Is Pramoxine hydrochloride the same as hydrocortisone acetate?
I used hydrocortisone for relief of some eczema around my mouth and it worked fine. I was wondering if Pramoxine hydrochloride is the same thing? I did some searching and they both show up together.
Look Its Jay
Pramoxine is a topical anesthetic used to reduce itching.
Hydrocortisone is a steroid.
Four month case of hives ... please help!?
I have had hives for four months. I have done everything I know possible, short of visiting an allergist (I've a feeling they will just tell me what I've always been allergic to). I've been on two rounds of prednisone, two Zyrtec per day plus two-three Benadryl at night, applying all the allergy creams possible, and no relief. It is particularly bad at present on the tops of my feet, my back, and my scalp. I've changed over to fragrance/dye free detergents, switched back to shampoo, body wash I know I am not allergic to, and nothing has changed. I've eliminated things from my diet - no help.

I don't really see what else an allergist could do for me that I'm not doing for myself short of putting me on shots, but should I just suck it up and see one any way? Are there any herbal supplements I should try in the meantime (I won't be able to see an allergist until June)? I have been so miserable for the past four months - horror stories about chronic hives are just making me paranoid.
Get yourself in to see an allergist. Now. If you can't get an appt till June, go to your own doctor. See if he/she could get you in on an emergency basis.

There are some things you just shouldn't try to tough out. This is one of those things.
What are some reasons a that a person constantly breaks out in hives?
For about 6 years, ive been constantly breaking out in hives and weps. I developed an allergy to dust so i would take Zyrtec for them. But i feel as though there is a greater reason behind the hives. I heard someone say once that the hives can be your body telling you something is wrong.
I do have a constant fatigue and most of the time it takes a lot of effort to speak. My joints are stiff and it often causes pain.
I'd really appreciate your help.
More than likely you are eating something that is causing a dysfunction in your body somehow. I had hives for 10 years and they went away after I switched to a gluten free diet. Celiac disease and dermititis herpetiformis are two conditions that involve being intolerant to the gluten found in wheat, rye and barley. A doctor can test you for these conditions starting with blood work and usually followed by biopsies. If the tests are positive, go on a gluten free diet and I would expect the hives to go away within a couple of months. If the tests are negative, then try the diet anyway to rule out non-celiac gluten intolerance or an allergy to wheat, rye or barley products. The fatigue and joint issues can also be explained by celiac disease.

Another possibility if the gluten approach doesn't work is to see if you have a problem with the nightshade vegetables which include potatoes, tomatoes, peppers to name a few. These veggies have a lot of different compounds in them that people can react to and one of their side effects can be skin issues and joint pain. This is less likely than the gluten problem but thought I would mention it.

I hope this helps. I know how frustrating and limiting living with hives can be. If you have more questions about any of this, contact me through here.
How long does it take for hives to appear after an allergic contact?
My grandson has recently had hives appear. They did get a new kitten about 1 month ago. Could it be the kitten or possibly another exposure? He also went to a new baby sitter on the day the hives errupted for the first time. He continues to have the hives now even though he isn't going the baby sitter anymore.
hives can appear from thirty minutes to 48 hours after exposure, so I doubt it's the kitten, or he would have had the hives a lot sooner. That he still has them suggests that it is something he is being exposed to currently, hives don't last much more than a week unless the exposure is ongoing.
Is there a risk of addiction to the paracetamol tablet under the brand name UNIFLU?
Uniflu tabs contains among others (i) paracetamol 500mg, (ii) diphenhydramine hydrochloride 15mg, (iii) phenylephrine hydrochloride 10mg. It is indicated for symptomatic relief from influenza, colds, nasal & sinus congestions, coughing, fever, headaches, allergic conditions, hayfever, etc.
Lonely Man
There is no physiological mechanism by which anyone can become addicted to paracetamol. There have been reports of addiction to combination products where paracetamol is combined with an opioid medicine, but this has nothing to do with the paracetamol component.
Phenylephrine hydrochloride has had cases of addiction however tolerance is more reported and is recognised in most countries as non addictive.
Im more concerned about diphenhydramine hydrochloride which continuous use of this medication can lead to dependency and addiction.

I suggest you seek medical help if you feel you are unable to stop taking this medication
so i randomly get hives all over my arms. i'l just be sitting there, and i'll get hives. i really dont understand?
i get them everyday, and i dont get them after i eat so i don't think its food alergies.
Stress can also give you hives.
Why do i get hives on my arms and behind my knees after i run?
Ever since i got sunburned last summer, whenever i do my daily run i get hives behind my knees. I do my running indoors on a treadmill. Why am i getting hives?
Hives can happen from sweat or heat. Also friction. Hives are red itchy welts. If you get a red itchy,
but flat and scaly rash instead, think about eczema. If they are hives try a low dose of antihistamine before exercise. Like benedryl.
Has anyone had a long term, chronic, experience with hives -- that has lasted for years?
Two years ago I visited a doctor to complain about the spots on my stomach and chest. He said that it was just hives, and prescribed me some topical steroid medication, and recommended some Claritin D. To the best of my knowledge, the hives went away partially, but there were still several spots left that never went away. However about nine months ago I started noticing brown spots that were developing. This time they were not red like before. I visited my doctor and he said it could be a reaction from a sinus infection that I previously had. But they never went away though, like normal viral rashes do. So two weeks ago, the brown spots were still there. I visited him again, We did lab work and everything came back with nothing significant. We did a skin biopsy that showed that the brown spots were just hives again. The doctor has given me a prescription to now take Allegra 180 MG, twice daily. He also said that some people can have hives for decades. Has anyone experienced hives for this long before? Does it always itch? I am a bit concerned about my physical appearance with hives, especially during the summer.

I know your message is old, but I started becoming "hive free" when I used probiotics regularly, which strengthened my immune system. Switching from Benadryl, Chlorapheramine, and even sometime using a good anti itch nasal spray can help.
