How soon can I drink alcohol after taking a single dose of?
azithromycin and a ceftriaxone sodium injection ? Need to know because birthday is Thursday and going out of town Friday and Saturday to celebrate. Asked by Tamera Wauford 3 months ago.

You shouldn't, period! Not for a couple weeks. That wasn't exactly a small injection you got. You should be taking probiotics so you don't get diarrhea from those antibiotics! Take care of yourself. . Answered by Melodi Lutjen 3 months ago.

What is the difference between megion and rocephin?
Hello I read that both drugs are ceftriaxone, so what is the difference between them and when do we give each? thanks Asked by Roy Zundel 3 months ago.

As far as I am aware, the difference is nothing more than brand name. Both are ceftriaxone sodium, and both may be given IV or IM. Rocephin comes in 250 mg, 500 mg, 1g, and 2g strengths, while Megion comes in 250 mg, 500mg and 1g strengths. There are numerous uses for this third generation cephalosporin, including lower respiratory tract infection, otitis, sepsis, and gonorrhea. Answered by Hubert Cerrone 3 months ago.

How long will my birth control have lowered effectiveness?
It's not a myth. I called the pharmacist, and found that I should be fine now. I got the shot at the beginning of the month. Even the pharmacist told me it would lower the effectiveness for at least a week (beings as it was an injection) Asked by Moon Barvosa 3 months ago.

I received an injection of the antibiotic Rocephin (ceftriaxone sodium) for a sinus infection. I was wondering, can anyone find ANY INFO on how long it will lower the effectiveness of my birth control pill (Yasmin/Ocella)? I've looked, looked, and looked and can't find any information on it. I,stupidly, didn't ask the doctor how long it would lower the effectiveness rate for. Can anyone help? Answered by Karissa Shock 3 months ago.

It'sa myth that antibiotics decrease effectiveness. The only proven antibiotic that causes a decreased effectiveness is rifampin. You are probably okay. Answered by Chantay Boultinghouse 3 months ago.

Usually the meds that lower the effect of BC pills are antibioticsIf you are on any antibiotics i would strongly reccomend to use a second method of birth control such as condoms etc. But if you are troubled over lets say Tylonol or advil or some sort of head ache or pain med, dont be you should be ok. If you are taking other meds and are not quite sure call your pharmacy and ask if what you are taking interacts with you BC pills. That would be a good idea. Call your doctors office or call an OB office to ask them, they should be able to tell you. Answered by Deon Thoene 3 months ago.

Hi, Anyone tried any useful antibiotic against kidney infection? I'm literally dying in pain, I took ibuprofen to fix the pain a bit, I don't have fever just severe pain on both flanks and lower back, back when it all started 2 month ago with a normal UTI because I had non protected sex and touched the tip of my penis on her anus, I went through series of tests they couldn't find any stones in Sonar nor CT, also my urine sample was almost clear, it is only my CRP level that is high, I guess 12.0 mg and they said it was high, they said it is an infection, but I didn't take any proper medication other than pain killers hoping it will go on its own with only cranberry juice but it didn't and now its much much worse, they prescribed ciprofloxacin but it gave me an allergic reaction (rash) , a friend of mine he is a pharmacist he said I should take Rocephin (ceftriaxone sodium), and that it is effective against this kind of infections and it is also a different family of antibiotic so it won't cause any allergy, I'm sorry I'm posting this here but I have no other choice right now because I'd have to wait till Saturday and the pain is excruciating, any help is very much appreciated, thank you. Answered by Suzanne Cainne 3 months ago.

dave - you are playing a dangerous "game" with your kidneys and maybe with your life! Most urinary bladder (URIs or Urinary Tract Infections) are caused by the very common E, coli bacteria which is present on the groin area skin nearest the anus. This is NOT considered a sexually transmitted infection since virgins and children may get such infections. If a UTI is suspected, you should visit a health clinic or doctor to get a while-you-wait Rapid Urine DipStick Test on a few drops of freshly passed urine. ONLY if the bacteria are positively identified should you be started immediately on an appropriate antibiotic. Cranberry juice and pain killers may relieve the pain but do not kill the bacteria which can then spread to the kidneys and possibly do permanent damage or get into your blood stream and cause body-wide infection (sepsis) or even death. Visit your doctor today - if you're wise. A urine culture and sensitivity (C&S) can identify the bacteria and best antibiotic to use.) Please don't delay. Take care of your health and stay alive. Thanks Answered by Woodrow Muckerman 3 months ago.

Yes. The best thing would be to ask an ophthalmologist - an MD who has specialized training in the eyes. He or she can prescribe exercises which are specific to your condition. I had several such sets of exercises prescribed over the years, with varying results, from "worked very well" to "did nothing". The exercise that worked the best for me, prescribed by a Russian-trained ophthalmologist now certified in the US, was to look at double-objects and "pull" the image together. Then hold it for as long as I could. Then, stare off into space or close my eyes for a minute or two to rest, then do it again. I did this a few times per day for several months, and it's no longer a problem unless I am very tired. Answered by Colby Gedman 3 months ago.

I have a math exam next week for my nursing lab and am a little shakey on these questions. Any help would be great! Tommy takes Divolproex sodium for seizures. Order: divalproex sodium 1,000 mg IV over 60 minutes Dose on hand: divalproex sodium 1,000mg/100 mL 1.) What dose will be given? 2.) What volume will be given to receive the correct dose? 3.) What is the rate the nurse will set the IV pump to (mL/hr)? 4.) If the drip factor for the above question was 10 qtts/mL, how many drops/min would the nurse adminster the medication? Round to the nearest whole number Mary is ordered ceftriaxone, an antibiotic. Order: ceftriaxone 1 gram every 24 hours intravenously. Policy states adminster over 30 minutes. Dose on hand: ceftriaxone 1,000 mg/50 mL NS How many mL/hr will the nurse adminster this medication (on the IV pump)? Joe is on a diuretic, furosemide, drip (intravenous) for diastolic heart failure. Order: furosemide 5 mg/hr IV, continuously Dose on hand: furosemide 10 mg/mL How many mL/hr will the nurse adminster (on an IV pump)? Do not round Answered by Ulysses Velardes 3 months ago.

Sorry but I refuse to do other people's homework. These are very basic, easy nursing math questions and I strongly suggest you slow down and read them and actually try to figure out the answer yourself. Just showed them to my 12 year old and he could solve them. If you're coming up on an exam and can't answer these questions, either you aren't studying AT ALL or you need to talk with your instructor to get extra help.
