BIAXIN QUESTION PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ASAP?
Does Biaxin XL 500MG get rid of soar throats???????????? Asked by Kina Vil 1 month ago.

No need to bring out the big guns for something simple. Biaxin is an antibiotic and won't do anything to soothe your throat or even help your condition if it's not bacterial. You can get rid of a simple sore throat with a much milder substance. Try lozenges, cough syrup with numbing properties, or hot tea with orange or honey. Of course, that's provided you know why your throat is sore. If you don't know the cause and it's not just a simple sore throat, you should probably see a doctor to make sure there's not something more serious going on like strep. Answered by Patrice Wenig 1 month ago.

About 95% of sore throats are viral infections. You should never start yourself on an antibiotic on your own. Go to the doctor if you have had a sore throat more than 5 days or you have a high fever with it. They should do a strep culture if indicated. If + they will put you on the right type of antibiotic. Antibiotics don't kill viruses, they have to run their course. Try tylenol and warm salt water gargles. Answered by Cristy Ridgley 1 month ago.

It is for Strep throat if that is in fact what you have. Answered by Karl Metheny 1 month ago.

No but Visine does ! Answered by Anastacia Zellmann 1 month ago.

Yes, but it is only temporary relief. 10 points please! Answered by Thomas Munnerlyn 1 month ago.

Bad stomach pains on biaxin xl?
Two days ago I was prescribed biaxin xl 500mg for phneumonia.. I get severe headaches for about 3 hours after I take them, which is one of the side effects. But tonight I have started getting bad stomach pains that feel like something is like twisting inside.. Could this be from the medication? Asked by Katharine Kucharski 1 month ago.

That's pretty common with Biaxin. If it's too much to deal with, your doctor may be able to prescribe an alternative. Answered by Taylor Bendt 1 month ago.

sounds like a gallbladder issue. The fact that he does not have pains right away and where they were located suggest gallbladder. However it could be his appendix, stomach, intestines or any others issues. He needs a regular doctor, not an emergency room doctor unless he is running a fever. Also if he has a liver disease then he should get seen by a doc. Stomach pain is hard to diagnose. But if he is having it when he eats and in a certain location then a doc should be able to pin-point the problem. Hope this helps. Good luck Sweetheart. Answered by Jana Bartosik 1 month ago.

Biaxin XL has a lot of side effects Diarrhea, nausea, abnormal taste, dyspepsia, abdominal discomfort or pain, pseudomembranous colitis, glossitis, stomatitis, oral moniliasis, vomiting. Very strong antiboitic you definitely need to take it with food if stomach upset occurs. But to me it seems like you need to be prescribed something else cause it seems like you getting a lot of side effects from it. Call your Dr. ASAP and see if he would prescribe you something else! Good luck, get better! Answered by Kris Alamo 1 month ago.

Yes, call your doctor and let him/her know. There may be another antibiotic that will work as well with fewer side effects. Different people react to different medications, and something else might be easier on you. Feel better soon. Answered by Peter Remondini 1 month ago.

Can you get high off Biaxin XL?
can you get high off Biaxin XL Asked by Asa Lukaskiewicz 1 month ago.

No - this is an antibiotic. Answered by Bruna Pecha 1 month ago.

What do you consider "high"? Depending on the dosage (which would include your age, metabolism, weight, gender, other known or unknown medical conditions you may have etc.), it may affect the central nervous system and could cause anxiety, behavioral changes, confusion, convulsions, depersonalization, disorientation, hallucinations, insomnia, manic behavior, nightmares, psychosis, tinnitus, tremor, and vertigo. More likely this antibioticum for advandced stage HIV positive patients may cause other problems first, such as allergic reactions as 'harmless' as skin erruptions (hives) to live threathning anaphylaxis, nausea, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, glossitis, stomatitis, oral moniliasis, anorexia, vomiting, pancreatitis, tongue discoloration, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, neutropenia, dizziness, tooth discoloration, hearing loss, alterations of the sense of smell, taste perversion and/or taste loss. (if you're unfamiliar with some of these conditions, I'd urge you to inform yourself intensely before you even consider the abuse of such drugs for purposes of mind-alteration). Because, I'm not sure if that would be good choice to attain a 'high', when you can achieve a natural high by running a few miles or just exercising, enjoying a good movie or laugh, or being surrounded by loving family and friends.... I can't find anywhere in the drug information that says I need to take it with food. I am not a breakfast eater and would prefer to wake up, take the pills and be on my way without having to eat. Does anyone know if it is necessary to eat food with these pills and if so, is it dangerous to take them without food? Thanks Answered by Miriam Lovenduski 1 month ago.

Not "dangerous"....wasteful when you vomit it. Take AFTER eating.....whenever that is. Answered by Anne Romag 1 month ago.

Call the doctor who prescribed it for you and tell him. Very rarely, this drug can cause liver damage. When it does, it is serious. I am including a link to a description of drug-induced liver disease for you. When you call the doctor, be sure to tell him about the dark urine. That is a red flag.
