I need to know about LORCASERIN (Belviq)?
Hello I need to know if Lorcaserin ( Belviq) is already in the US market I know it was approved by the FDA in June 2012 but I don't know if I can get the medicine with a medical prescription in United States Thank you in advance Bye
Asked by Fidel Estrem 1 month ago.
Soon but not yet. Before Belviq could be distributed in the US, it first had to be reviewed by the DEA to finalize the scheduling level for distribution. That process is almost complete and Belviq will be available immediately after, probably sometime in February 2013. An important thing to remember about this drug is you will either be a "responder" or not. Responders will identify themselves by losing at least 5% of your weight by 12 weeks. If you do, then the average weight loss at one year is about 11% . That is why the label recommends discontinuing use at 12 weeks if you haven't lost at least 5%. However in practice, you will see some specialists prescribe Belviq in combination with phentermine in cycles which will significantly speed weight loss. Think BelPhen, a safe version of the FenPhen of the 90's. Belviq is also a great drug for Type II diabetics and pre-diabetics to use. Belviq reduces HbA1c by an average of-.9, better results than many oral diabetes drugs such as Januvia. For these reason, this is an important new drug for millions of Americans. Good luck in your journey. Answered by Lester Goranson 1 month ago.
The scheduling level has been determined to be Schedule IV. This means that physicians will be able to prescribe the medication with few restrictions; and that patients will be able to purchase the medication at their local pharmacy. Arena will be trying to get it released to sell immediately upon the closing of the DEA comment period in February. Answered by Jeri Makara 1 month ago.

Ok my doctor gave me the weightloss pill belviq ....I asked her for it... I have a phobia of taking any medication with any side effects....so who has taken belviq? When I take the first pill what can I expect? How do u feel?
Asked by Rhea Krebs 1 month ago.
Hi- In my experience with Belviq I had no side effects. In fact for the first few days I was wondering if they forgot to put the active ingredient [Lorcaserin] in the pills! After a week I noticed I was not finishing off the snack tray, and would feel full halfway through every meal. Food tasted GREAT! I just ate smaller amounts. I did notice I slept better, so that is a side effect I guess. I lost 45 pounds in about 2 months so I was obviously a "responder" In answer to your question about when you take the first pill what can you expect? Nothing is what I felt. I guess I was expecting a "jolt" of some kind, but felt the same as ever. First thing you notice is your plate leaving the table with food on it and you feel satisfied and good about it. I wish you much success! Sauve9 Answered by Davina Turbes 1 month ago.
Which Is Better Qsymia and Belviq?
Two new prescription weight loss medication, Belviq and Qsymia, currently have the FDA's blessing. Which, if Better, Belviq or Qsymia? Please Help
Asked by Calista Puulei 1 month ago.
The FDA in the past few months has approved two new weight loss drugs for people who struggle with obesity — Qsymia and Belviq. People taking Qsymia for up to one year had an average weight loss of nearly 9 percent over those taking an inactive placebo. Over 70 percent of people taking Qsymia lost at least 5 percent of their body weight and People taking Belviq had an average weight loss that was 3 to 3.7 percent greater than people taking placebo. After taking Belviq for one or two years, some 47 percent of people without diabetes lost at least 5% of their body weight. Qsymia is available, while Belviq won’t be available until early-to-mid 2013. In my opinion talk to your doctor to see if this medication may be right for you. Read full story in resource. Thanks. Put a two litre water bottle as well as a glass on your desk each and every morning. Get through it simply by lunch, and do the same inside the afternoon. You’ll exercise better as well as recover faster if you’re hydrated. I drink some water when someone asks me a silly question or sends a dumb email... find something that works for you personally! Utilize the 20 minute rule. Eat your portion-controlled meal then, even if you believe hungry afterwards, wait for 20 minutes and discover if you still do. Nine times away from 10, you won’t. If you choose to do, eat 10 per cent additional. Answered by Aurea Akre 1 month ago.

I have taken belviq (average dose) before but stopped as the cost was a bit too high. I have since been given the toprol xl (25 mg's once a day) for moderate hypertension. I would like to start the belviq again but I'm not sure if the two are compatible or if there are any drug interactions I should worry about. I'd imagine they would be compatible bc most overweight people have higher BP and may also take BP meds... Am I right? Any words of wisdom? I still have half the bottle of belviq in my closet and want to start up again. I just can't afford a doctors appointment at this time. Eventually, I'll have to ask my doctor - when I can afford a consult! Thanks in advance. Answered by Christopher Kempker 1 month ago.
at what time of the day have you been told by your doc to take the toprol? because if you take the two at exactly the same time the toprol will increase the action of the belviq, which has to be carefully monitored. if you want to take them together it is best to have them a few hours apart. usually the toprol is taken in the morning to maximise its effect (unless you have been told otherwise). about 6 hours later which would be about lunch time, you could take the belviq, and this would help to reduce your appetite for the rest of the day. taking 1 a day of the belviq should last you the rest of the bottle for the next few weeks. keep a record of your weight by week as this will help you achieve your goals. during the day you have a good window of opportunity to eat as much healthy food as possible, so don't waste it! Is Belviq Good for weight loss?
As FDA cleared Belviq as an adjunct to a healthy diet (low on calories) and increased physical activity for chronic weight management in obese (Body Mass Index, or BMI, >30) or overweight (BMI >27) adults suffering from at least one weight-related co-morbid condition. Its Going to work or what..??
Asked by Mitchell Weeber 1 month ago.
See exactly we can't say this is going to work or that one is the best. ys !! belviq approved by FDA but any weight loss supplements are having certain pros and cons.. we are the users and we can't blindly choose any weight loss drug. Before making any specific decision abt certain drug we must read its reviews, is there any side effects or not for that i have a very useful resource that i want to share with u :) may it helps you in taking right decision abt that diet pill :) Thanxs, David Answered by Joline Heiken 1 month ago.
The most favored thing in Belviq is that Food and Drug Administration has approved it. Belviq not only achieving modest weight loss in clinical studies, but this drug appeared safe enough to win the FDA's endorsement. Weight-loss drugs have a mixed track record with the FDA. Fenfluramine -- commonly known as fen-phen -- was pulled from the market in 1997 because of its association with heart valve disease. Accutrim was removed in 2000 because of its association with strokes. And Meridia production ceased in 2010 due to concerns of heart disease and strokes. So its good to know all good and bad about Belviq before making any kind of final decision. Hope, this information help you. Answered by Alicia Reinstein 1 month ago.

Diet Drugs: FDA has approved "Belviq". How long iwll it take for DEA to approve this for RX?
Also known as :(generic:lorcaserin)
Asked by Brittanie Titzer 1 month ago.
It's my understanding that FDA approval was all that was in the way, and that vote has now passed. So basically expect this "Belviq" to start hitting pharmacies any time. Prescription only, of course. (Like most things it had a fairly nasty list of possible side effects.) The DEA is more in the business of drug DISAPPROVAL... :) Mood altering drugs and the like. ex-DEA agents write some of the coolest books, how the "war on drugs" is not only ineffective, but actually causes the problems it is intended to prevent. Except for professional ***holes like Bill Bennett, even the highest ranking former officials in the DEA agree that the WOD must end. Answered by Hilario Kachel 1 month ago.

Phentermine does work. I called it meth in a bottle. However, I have a fast heart rate and Phentermine speeds it up and Belviq slows it down so I need Belviq. However, I am trying to find somewhere that I can buy it and it won't be so expensive. Answered by Elba Kuipers 1 month ago.
When is the new anti obesity drug Belviq going to sell in pharmacies?
It got FDA approval few weeks ago, when are pharmacies going to sell them? Is there anything better than that

It will be up to the manufacturer. From initial approval to first marketing, on average, takes between 3 and 6 months. Answered by Alona Schei 1 month ago.
