Amoxi/clav 875-125 augmentin is it safe to take in such a hih dosage?
Im taking augmentin but is it safe at such a high dosage and my doctor gave it to me for 20 days i think its too much. Also can you smoke marijuana or drink while taking it??? Asked by Jamie Hebda 2 months ago.

Augmentin is a powerful drug, and that dose is recommended by physicians to treat a variety of infections. Your doctor is treating you for an infection and you should take it as he prescribed. It is perfectly safe, but at that dose you could develop a yeast infection in your private area. You can avoid this by eating yogurt with the live bacteria in it every day. Dentists often prescribe this dose for severe gum infections and abcessed teeth. If you develop itching and a vaginal discharge, let your doctor know, as he will need to treat that as well. Please realize that he gave you that dose because whatever he is treating you for warrants it. Best wishes and feel better soon! Answered by Evon Kappeler 2 months ago.

Augmentin 875 And Alcohol Answered by Jacqui Bystron 2 months ago.

that's not a high dose - it's the normal, standard dose. although there's no interaction of the drug with alcohol nor pot, those things may slow down you recovery from the actual infection that your doctor is treating. If you do them, do them in moderation. By the way, if you think about it, asking anonymous people, with no medical training, for advice to overrule that of your trained, certified physician is probably not a good idea. You would be much better off asking this question about your medication, to your actual doctor who knows your case, and your medical history. -- that's why you have a doctor. Answered by Clair Ringwood 2 months ago.

I think you should continue to smoke pot and drink and not take the meds the doctor gave you. Answered by Jessi Prophett 2 months ago.

Its a nasty side effect of the medication..because you are vomiting and are not just nauseas I would call the doctor and ask if they still want you to continue taking it, you may need to switch meds....good luck Answered by Shaunda Cleveland 2 months ago.

Your taking augmentin for a urine infection so sometimes the medication will make you drowsy or making you feel sick to your stomach. The medicine is trying to get rid of anything bad in your body. In most cases, people have diarrhea. If your that concerned about it, go see your doctor. Answered by Felicitas Rimbach 2 months ago.

Knowing the reaction you had to erythromycin years ago, you should be worried. I know you will have taken preventative measures to alleviate the itching, but it is also doing that to the inside of your body. That's the reason hives are so dangerous. What you see on the outside is also happening inside and can block your lungs. So, take care dear cousin, and get well. I realize it the last couple of years have been hard on your health, but there is only one you so call the doctor and follow his advice. Don't take the second pill. Though you probably will because you'll want to test it to see if you're ok. Just remember the anaphylactic reaction and don't let it happen again. . Answered by Karlene Cappel 2 months ago.

Call your doctor, ask for an alternative medication. Usually we have 2 or 3 to choose from and we pick one for practical reasons, like "they could afford this one" Rest assured there are other antibiotics to choose from. Answered by Linn Caler 2 months ago.

Augmentin is an antibiotic in a group of drugs called penicillins. Augmentin fights bacteria in the body. Augmentin is used to treat many different infections caused by bacteria, such as sinusitis, pneumonia, ear infections, bronchitis, urinary tract infections, and infections of the skin. Augmentin may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide The numbers mean: 125 mg clavulanic acid, 875 mg amoxicillin This means it's a stronger dose, but not the strongest. Ok so I just got prescribed augmentin 875-125mg (the highest dose ) my dog scratched me and I got cellulitis what should I expect from the antibiotic?? My mom said I took this as a baby many times after getting pneumonia and was fine no serious allergic reaction. How long after taking it should I have to worry about having a serious alergic reaction?? Can a serious reaction happen like days into taking this or would a serious life threatening one occur after the first dose?? I know it can cause severe diahreah and a rash that can be allergic reaction or a non alergic reaction, I also have BAD anxiety does this medicine cause higher heart rate or rapid heart rate? Could it make me feel more anxious?? I also heard you can feel worse the first or second day on this is this true? What other serious side effects should I watch for?? Also i take it twice a day if i take it at 8pm then my Phenergan at 9:30pm or 10pm will it interact?? Sorry for all the questions! Thanks so much for the help! Answered by Taisha Lazusky 2 months ago.

When taking this medication make sure you follow the directions. Cellulitis symptoms should disappear during the first few days of amoxicillin therapy, according to the Mayo Clinic. Individuals who continue to have symptoms or those who develop high fevers should notify their doctors right away. Your feelings of anxiety should be treated separately from this dog scratching incident. Sometimes it is because of an amoeba within the heart cavity that this anxiety manifest. It is believed that the amoeba forms if the body is subjected to temperatures below freezing. Most people don't notice it. But talk to your doctor about this and see if he can find a medication that can prevent you from slipping into a psychosis. Right now, you have diagnosed yourself for having acute anxiety. This is a serious condition and the affects of the condition are physical, not just in your head. So make sure you talk to him about this. For right now take your medication as directed. People that claim to have an allergy to this medication sometimes suffer from other conditions like fibroid tumors where there is an excess of micro organisms that are parasites in the body. The medication is designed to eliminate this possibility. So it is very important you take all the medication. If you develop a rash this is the signal there are too many parasites in your system. Avoid products with petroleum bases and fatty foods. These are the modes of transit for a great deal of parasites. Make sure you are eating enough salt. And gargle with salt water, this will eliminate parasites from your system. Get Well Soon. Answered by Jacinto Dillard 2 months ago.

On Tuesday, I was started on a 14 day (2 tablets a day) treatment for Serous Otitis Media & Sinusitis ... I've had a sinus infection for about 3 months that won't go away, and then the ear fluid was only just now discovered. Anyway, I've never taken Augmentin before, so I'm not sure if the things I am experiencing are normal adverse reactions or if I'm getting sick with something else. (I'm around many sick people a day so it's very likely I could catch something else) First off, I'm very sleepy / drowsy and moody most of the day. I feel like at times I can't focus and driving far distances daily has been torture. I vary between being extremely nauseous one minute to being very hungry the next. I have developed a sore throat yesterday (Thursday) and have had it since then (so that's 2 days with it). It is getting worse, not better. It's made worse by activities where I'm at rest / not drinking fluids (sleeping / in class / etc). But it doesn't go away. I have began experiencing slight discomfort in my bladder / pelvic region. I have done nothing out of the ordinary, yet it feels like I pulled a muscle or something. I didn't have this problem until after starting the Augmentin therapy. A dry patch of skin on my face about the size of a quarter as well as occasional facial flushing. Finally, an overall feeling of sickness. I didn't feel anywhere half this bad before starting Augmentin, yet since being on Augmentin, I feel like I am getting sick instead of better. I do notice my sinuses starting to clear up though so I do know the drug is working. But back to my question, are these some common adverse reactions of the drug? Any advice on how to prevent then? Thanks Answered by Michel Aird 2 months ago.

The person you need to be asking is your local Pharmacist. He is highly trained in this field and would be able to accurately answer all your questions. Answered by Rodrick Bartholemew 2 months ago.

I took Augmentin 875/125 3 hours early on acendent is that okay or what do I need to call doctor?
Asked by Lanette Kahal 2 months ago.

You will be fine, but that's a strong dose your taking. A good recommendation is to eat yogurt with live cultures in it a few times a day to prevent colitis. The antibiotics kill the naturally occurring bacteria in your intestine. The yogurt helps preventing that from occurring. Ask your doctor, I'm sure he will agree. Do a search on c-difficile on yahoo to read up on it. This is a good idea anytime your on antibiotics. Answered by Oleta Stoud 2 months ago.

You will be fin just don't take the next dose until the correct amount of time has passed since the accidental dose. You might have an upset stomach & or the runs but it will subside. Answered by Elijah Deerman 2 months ago.

22 weeks already! Wow, it is going quickly:) you should be advantageous. you probable only used some new muscle tissues. you probable overdid it abit, yet back interior the day, farming women individuals lifted bales and all varieties of issues. I worked in nursing, and the failings those women individuals raise authentic till only till now the toddler is born became into fantastic to me. this is greater in the way you raise than how lots, suited lifting tecniques are advantageous to apply properly pregnant. in case you're sore and cramping up abit, than i could only placed your ft up and relax for something of the day. At 22 weeks, the toddler continues to be in a swimming pool and not too cramped yet, so he or she is fairly secure in there. Answered by Sharika Wildridge 2 months ago.

as long as you had it with food your ok just take the next one when you should and get back on track as this medication is absorbed in to the body and can cause stomach ulsars if not taken with food but as i said youll be fine just take the next one at the right time Answered by Stephen Stolzenberg 2 months ago.

The only thing you need to do is to take the next dose on schedule. Answered by Rosana Essick 2 months ago.

no, don't even bother your dr. it's just an antibiotic. every time you drink milk you get a dose of antibiotics. you're fine. just relax, you're ok. Answered by Oren Rennels 2 months ago.

Is augmentin usually given once or twice a day?
2 yr old. 4 ml. ear infection. Asked by Alonso Weiglein 2 months ago.

From the literature, I found that Augmentin suspension(125/31 Sugar Free) 5mls for child up to 6 years can be given three times a day. However, your paediatrician may reduce or increase the dose and frequency based on the severity of the infection. Hope, this helps. Answered by Kerry Buland 2 months ago.

Thrice. To reduce dose, each time less should be given. For maintaining the blood levels in effective range, frequency should be the same. Hope it helps. Good luck! Answered by Chana Tumaneng 2 months ago.

Can you take three augmentin pills on the first day you get the antibiotic?
Can you take an extra augmentin 875/125 the day you get it to jumpstart the treatment? I am being treated for a really bad sinus infection. Asked by Kacey Shamburg 2 months ago.

Not a great idea. First, it's unnecessary and secondly, augmentin tends to be rough on the stomach and colon with nausea and loose stools being common side effects. Answered by Ardell Petrini 2 months ago.

Nope. Take it directly as directed. Taking extra to get a "jump start" will cause unpleasant side effects like nausea, vomiting and some really bad diarrhea. If you start taking it now, you'll feel better within 48 hours! In the mean time, you can take sudafed for the stuffiness and benedryl at night to help you sleep and get rid of some of the sinus pressure. Ibuprofen or acetaminophen will help with any headaches that come along with sinus infections. Drink lots of water and take your augmentin with food! Good luck :) Answered by Susana Wideman 2 months ago.
