Is it safe to mix biperiden (Akineton) and ziprasidone (Geodon)?
Please no answers: talk to your doc... Asked by Amberly Stire 1 year ago.

I;d have to say no. Geodon is an antipsychotic and any antipsychotic medication, like Geodon, should be avoided while taking Akineton. Answered by Theresia Ransome 1 year ago.

Why do some people use Biperiden (Akineton) to get high?
I have heard a lot of people say that biperiden gives them a great high. Why is this? If this is medicine for Parkinson's disease (against shaking) what does it do to people who don't have the disease? Asked by Ardith Chim 1 year ago.

biperiden can be used for psychotic patient for their anxiety and drug advers efects Answered by Sandie Gira 1 year ago.

Is it possible that drug interaction induce akathisia?
since biperiden was added to my drugs(zoloft &thioridazine) i became agitated. Asked by Hobert Keer 1 year ago.

Akathisia is a documented side effect of thioridazine (Mellaril). Akineton (biperiden) MAY be enhancing the effects of the thioridazine. If the effects continue, contact your prescribing Physician. Answered by Cassandra Lonzo 1 year ago.

What anti-psychotic doesn't make you gain weight?
i've been on zyprexa, and am now on invega 12mg epilim 1000mg and akineton 6mg for my schizophrenia and they all make me gain weight like crazy i've put on like 27kg in just THIS year .Do you know any anti-psychotic that doesn't gain weight or cause sleepiness for schizophrenics? Asked by Marcelle Hallet 1 year ago.

The best thing you can do is ask a pharmacist. They know a lot more about medications than doctors, and certainly more reliable than random answers from people on the internet. Answered by Mike Krutsch 1 year ago.

Anti - Psychotic medicine gain our weight. That's why many Psychiatric patients do not want to take such kind of medicine. It is necessary for them to recover their Psychic problem but this medicine have many side effects. Answered by Alphonso Gab 1 year ago.

I am on 10 mg of abilify and 20mg of celexa. I have been on it for a year and instantly developed akathisia. Its really annoying. My drs prescribed me some anti anxiety medication but it doesn't help. I can't sit still without standing up every 10 minutes. My friend said that akineton has helped him but it is an anti-parkinsons and my pdoc doesn't want to prescribe that to me. Should I get a second opinion? Answered by Charleen Morgenroth 1 year ago.

Primary care physicians know as much about psychiatric disorders/treatments as any average person who has attended a 1 hour seminar on the topic. Unfortunately, the same is true for many MD's specializing in psychiatry. From the title of your question I can guess that the sequence of events concerning your predicament are: 1) You described certain symptoms to a doctor who then gave you a diagnosis of Depression. 2) You were prescribed an "antidepressant". It didn't relieve your symptoms and/or made you feel worse. 3) You were prescribed Abilify in addition to the Celexa. You were told it will augment Celexa's effectiveness. 4) And then, ahh yes, Akathisia (which is very real and can get MUCH worse than what you describe). Well, been there...done that...AND THEN SOME. If you don't start playing a major role in your own diagnosis and treatment you will be led down a path that will negatively effect your physical/mental health, quality of life and ultimately damage your central nervous system. The information you need to learn is available but ignore anything you might read in support forums, Web MD and the like. As for Akathisia, vitamin B6 and mineral supplements help me. Anxiety drugs (benzodiazapines) will worsen depressive symptoms and you will develop tolerance and dependency if you take them for longer than a few months (benzodiazapine withdrawal syndrome feels similar to severe Akathisia and can last for over a year). As for the depressive symptoms, they may be secondary to some other ailment. If vitamin B12 (with folic acid), Omega 3 EHA (not DHA) and mineral supplements (magnesium, potassium and a few others) provide no degree of symptom relief (you have to be off psychoactive drugs for this test) then your primary problem is not biological Depression. Answered by Chance Dombeck 1 year ago.

I got bad akathisia from Abilify, so I understand your annoyance. If you've been on it for longer than a few days and it's still disruptive, you should probably outright tell your doctor you want to try something else. Sometimes you have to be a little assertive to get them to listen to you. Good luck :) Answered by Shanda Haramoto 1 year ago.

yes, you should get a 2nd opinion, but not about the akineton - about the abilify itself. Taking another medicine to control the side effects of abilify is not a long-term solution. Unless you are psychotic (not just depressed) then maybe you don't need a neuroleptic like abilify. Answered by Walton Fogelson 1 year ago.

I have been trying to quit for ages, i have tried everything read books ,taken pills, patches, i have been trying smoke deter it says it replaces some of the needs rather than cold turkey, its a spray, you use a couple of times a day,it really has been helping, this is the longest i have gone without, at the moment they are doing an offer with two free bottles,it costs but it really is working. Answered by Mark Gelle 1 year ago.

Smoking causes a range of diseases never before suspected, including cataracts, acute myeloid leukemia and cervical, kidney, pancreatic and stomach cancers. In fact, smoking affects virtually every organ of the body. It has been known since decades that smoking is bad for health, but the current report shows that it's even worse. According to the American Cancer Society smoking kills people in different ways in different countries, but what is common is the high toll from smoking, wherever it becomes prevalent. A study last month found that in India, smoking mainly kills through tuberculosis rather than lung cancer, as in the West. According to researchers from the Epidemiological Research Center in Chennai, India, smoking causes half the male tuberculosis deaths in India. Almost 200,000 people a year in India die from tuberculosis because they smoked, and half the smokers killed by TB are still only in their thirties, forties or early fifties when they die. *Overcoming withdrawal symptoms like irritability, anxiety, and lack of concentration is helped by consuming these products and pills like Nicobrevin capsules, Zyban and Chantix. *Chewing gum with nicotine is gives you a hit of nicotine when you have the temptation of smoking. *Hypnosis is one of the other therapies being practiced for stop smoking but unlike other therapies it is not a full guarantee 100% success. *Low level laser therapy takes only 21 minutes to be effective and is completely painless. *Walking helps you to stop smoking. It offers you something to do instead of thinking about smoking. *Stress is the most common reason for reverting back to smoking. *The stop smoking support group motivates you to stay away from smoking and at the same time gives you a platform to share your experiences with other about stopping smoking *The weight of some people increases a lot after stopping to smoke. This change in spite of being misleading and not applicable to all creates a fear factor in the mind of the people who want to stay away from smoking. There are many books, audios and DVD’s as well as Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) products that will help you to quit smoking, you can also make use of the natural remedies and methods, self hypnotherapy, aromatherapy, acupuncture and the ever so popular “Cold Turkey” method. Support groups via phone, email or through forums have also been known to give a great deal of help to quit smoking. Keeping a daily quit smoking journal prior to quitting can help a smoker identify key difficulties for when the time begins to actually quit the habit. Spending the additional time to prepare for the event may increase the chances of success. Answered by Marcel Afonso 1 year ago.

What medications are not controlled in Dubai but are in America?
Asked by Debra Schutzman 1 year ago.

Below is a list of Controlled Medicines and Medications, registered with the Ministry of Health in the UAE and enforced by the UAE Ministry of Interior and International Narcotic Controlled Board (INCB). These items are essentially available only in hospitals and in large community pharmacies, under the prescription of doctors. The Ministry of Health advises that unlicensed, controlled medicines can only be imported into the UAE through hospitals and not by individuals. However, the Drug Control Department of the Ministry of health does have special regulations for personal import of such items: patients or travelers carrying prescribed prescription medications must have their prescriptions issued by licensed U.S. doctors, attested by a notary public, and duly authenticated by both the secretary of state of one’s U.S. state, and finally also authenticated by the Secretary of State of the U.S. Government in Washington, D.C. Most of these other countries have money for such big public works projects which would cost 3-10 times as much in the U.S. due to building costs, labour laws, safety measures, and the politics of it all. But they do not have the share resources of engineers to accomplish designing such building. The burj khalifa was estimated at about 5-6 billion dollars (I still don't think the actually cost was ever released) but figured that would of cost 15-25 billion in the U.S. There's not many companies, even with a public-private subsidy of 50% that could afford a building of that price, wether it be by on hand capital or by borrowing. Almost all of the great skyscrapers being built today are design by American companies. This is because our education system lends itself for multiple areas of study to be mended together such as physics, computer science, engineering, mathematics, architecture, etc. Americas best resource is its people and the arrogance we hold ourselves too. Some might look down as such a trait but it is that "I can do anything" "I'm American" attitude that makes us want to push the limits. In due time with new technology, building will become cheaper because we won't have to pay so much for labour (actual labour, insurance, overtime, taxes, taxes, taxes.) Paying a 40 hour work 20 bucks and hour ends up costing a company 55 an hour plus that worker will have to give up a substantial amount of his pay for taxes after the fact. It's why we don't build big even though no country in the world can match us for share resource or have an economy that can withstand it. China highway will be the biggest in the world when done but they don't have the commerce to use it so many parts are not finished Answered by Sharon Wemark 1 year ago.

My brother has had depression and anxiety for almost 2 years . His doctor prescribed him anxiety medications , depression medication : cypralex than changed from cypralex to Venlax than Abilify ( please check on google ) and akineton retard ( to stop the side effects) After 1 year maybe more on these medication he stopped with the approval of his doctor . He claims that he felt gr8t and everything was ok . It’s been 4 days that he is going through some kind of depression Now he is claiming ( please tell me if such a thing is possible ) what he said exactly was : he is now finally realizing that this is what caused his depression ( bad things he has done in his life , stealing from his mom , and doing drugs ) and when he felt gr8t it was all a lie . He claims that he went into a state where he completely shut him self up and did not want to see the truth for more than 3 years . And now everything is coming back to him. He says that it’s like it wasn’t him who was living it was someone else who did not want to see the truth . But now that he accepted all the bad thing he has done everything is coming back to normal with some dificulties and He beleves now is the best time to get back on the medecines and talk about his probleme to his doctor what realy bother him . He also said that when he was in this state when it was not him , He did not realy know who his friends where anymore , everything was so blurry to him , like he forgot about everything . And now it’s all coming back to him He also said that he might think that he was always him self but all this is in his head so he could covor what he did wrong . Is this possible ? and if it is possible , is it possible to figure out that all alone ? ( He says he feels a lot better and beleves with the help of the doctors he could get back to the person he was and forgive him self ) He even said he wanted to go to rehab if it didn’t work out with the doctors Please help and try to explain Answered by Marlin Orabuena 1 year ago.

In my experience with my husband who has a severe anxiety disorder and depression, these things happen. He'll go off meds, and swear he's doing well, that he's finally himself again. Then he'll crash, and say he's realized how ill he really is, that he was lying when he said he was good again, go back to the psychiatrist, etc etc. Sometimes he's "going off the meds has given me some clarity" other times it's "going on those meds have given me some clarity". But he believes everything he says when he's saying it, despite the fact that he flip flops frequently. Honestly, I think it's just part of having a severe mental illness. The best you can do is support his decision to get better and keep encouraging him to move in that direction. Answered by Charlie Feyereisen 1 year ago.

i've been on zyprexa, and am now on invega 12mg epilim 1000mg and akineton 6mg for my schizophrenia and they all make me gain weight like crazy i've put on like 27kg in just THIS year .Do you know any anti-psychotic that doesn't gain weight or cause sleepiness for schizophrenics? Asked by Marya Onstott 1 year ago.

The best thing you can do is ask a pharmacist. They know a lot more about medications than doctors, and certainly more reliable than random answers from people on the internet. Answered by Mahalia Crusinberry 1 year ago.

Anti - Psychotic medicine gain our weight. That's why many Psychiatric patients do not want to take such kind of medicine. It is necessary for them to recover their Psychic problem but this medicine have many side effects. Answered by Liz Sisson 1 year ago.

Answered by Elyse Vanarsdall 1 year ago.

I got bad akathisia from Abilify, so I understand your annoyance. If you've been on it for longer than a few days and it's still disruptive, you should probably outright tell your doctor you want to try something else. Sometimes you have to be a little assertive to get them to listen to you. Good luck :) Answered by Nannette Cano 1 year ago.

yes, you should get a 2nd opinion, but not about the akineton - about the abilify itself. Taking another medicine to control the side effects of abilify is not a long-term solution. Unless you are psychotic (not just depressed) then maybe you don't need a neuroleptic like abilify. Answered by Verlie Fremont 1 year ago.

Answered by Mafalda Trentz 1 year ago.

Answered by Rosie Linebarger 1 year ago.

What medications are not controlled in Dubai but are in America?
Asked by Marla Rameres 1 year ago.

China highway will be the biggest in the world when done but they don't have the commerce to use it so many parts are not finished Answered by Cheryle Anglade 1 year ago.

( He says he feels a lot better and beleves with the help of the doctors he could get back to the person he was and forgive him self ) He even said he wanted to go to rehab if it didn’t work out with the doctors Please help and try to explain Answered by Tad Tannen 1 year ago.

Answered by Marion Petzold 1 year ago.
