i am taking blood pressure meds lisinopril/hydrochlorothiazide?
is it ok to take Apple Cider Vinegar from Bragg and does it low your blood pressure ? hope i tfind the answer from doctors, pharmacists and people with high blood pressure , i wish all the best in your life
Mike M
I can't see any reason why it would not be ok to take Apple Cider Vinegar with your medication but I don't believe that it will help to reduce your blood pressure. The claims that it lowers blood pressure are based on the fact that it contains potassium - which is shown to reduce blood pressure. However the amount it contains is less than you would find in a banana so I doubt it has much effect.

You can try increasing the amount of exercise you do or reducing the amount of salt in your diet.

So scared?! What can I do to lower my dangerously high blood pressure?
I went to my doctor today and she put me on a second blood pressure medicine called Procardia XL 3O mg once daily. I already take Labetalol 100 mg twice a day. My blood pressure readings are still extremely high!!! Last reading was 172 over 100!! I'm in my early 30's, 5ft 8in tall and weigh 252 pounds, jog ten miles a week and try to eat right. I work 4 to 5 days a week, attend college twice a week and take care of my household of teenagers. Advice needed to help lower my blood pressure, because I'm seriously thinking about quitting my job and college!
I am 5 ft 8 in tall with slightly medium bone build.

Don't panic. It is very rare for people with hypertension to be able to control their blood pressure with a single medication. Most people will need AT LEAST two medications, and often three or more. 170/100 is only dangerous if you allow it to stay that high for weeks at a time. Keep doing what you're doing, take your medications, and KEEP LIVING YOUR LIFE.

Is Diovan a good high blood pressure medication?
I know of a person who was taking Diovan and the doctor kept increasing the dose until he had her at the maximum dose. Still her blood pressure was high. So the doctor added doxazosin and her blood pressure came down. My friend said the Diovan made her feel weak so she quit taking it and the doxazosin seems to be keeping the blood pressure down by itself. Does Diovan do anything?
You have to love people who answer when they have no idea what they're talking about...

It is a good med. Not all meds for high BP work well for every patient. Never stop taking a BP med without consulting your doctor.
Why would a doctor give nitroglycerin for a patient with high blood pressure?
I have a friend who just got out of the hospital. He was hospitalized for high blood pressure. They did all the tests on him. He said everything was ok. I know the use nitroglycerin is for heart patients. I have never heard of them using nitroglycerin for blood pressure patients.
It lowers the blood pressure very quickly. Its not going to be used as a maintenance drug but as a heart attack preventative it sounds like.

high blood pressure meds?
im taking lotensin 40 mg. and 10 mg of dynacriccr for high blood pressure and my head and neck aches also my ears hurt is this normal ?
I take Atacand and have no side effects at all. You might want to ask your doctor about it. It keeps my blood pressure right where it should be
I am on 50mg of Coreg and my blood pressure is still high. Should I ask my doctor for a pill for anxiety?
I'm a fairly anxious person, and I thoght this could be contributing to my high blood pressure.
50mg is a high dose of Coreg. It's a bit uncommon to max out one BP drug before adding another.

Talk to your doctor about your BP & your anxiety, both.
Should I go to the ER?
My daughter died during my second trimester of pregnancy. I had a D & C on 12/17. I had to go back to the ER on 12/19 b/c I had a fever and severe cramping. They put me on Flagyl and Methergin and sent me home. I got worse and went back last night. I had to have another D & C last night... Only 4 days after the first b/c they said some tissue might have been left from the first surgery. After the 2nd D&C they wouldn't let me leave the hospital b/c I had high blood pressure that they couldn't get to go down. When the blood pressure finally went down, they sent me home. Now I'm only on Flagyl and IBprofin.

I'm currently having severe migraines that painkillers don't sooth. I have to either go to sleep or deal with it. The migraine subsides when I'm sitting still. But, if I get up to walk around my head starts pounding really bad. Now my feet are swelling and I'm starting to worry. Should I go back to the ER? Could my blood pressure be high again? Thank you.
My husband wants to know if this is normal for a 22-year-old? We thought high blood pressure only happens to older people, like 40ish and up.
Sounds like your BP is up. Yes, you need to go back to the ER.
What should I do if I check her blood pressure 94,63 and Heartbeat 53?
My wife blood pressure 94,63 and Heartbeat 53 and Got headache.
She eats high blood pressure medication ( Adalat 60mg and Water Pill 25 mg half of it), to see her condition like that she was afraid and she skip it.
That is not a dangerously low blood pressure, just slightly on the low side. There isn't anything to do. Seems like maybe she doesn't need blood pressure medicine and a water pill. Maybe one or the other. Keep your eye on it and see how it does if she doesn't take the blood pressure medicine. If it stays down, no need to go back on it.
i heard that procardia was a killer medicine toward people with high blood pressure patients
well they don't help lower your blood pressure at all . your pressure goes higher and your heart suffer damage from that ,or you take a stroke.
collor p
I'm not sure exactly what you question is, but procardia (the extended release type) is not a "killer med".

Similar short-acting meds can be dangerous because of the risk of rebound high blood pressure. The long acting forms can be safe if given properly.
What are things that people with high blood pressure & high cholesterol should eat?
My mom has really bad high blood pressure and high cholesterol. The doctors told her she needed to make a change and she doesn't. She said its because she doesn't have money & needs to eat whats available so i decided i would take over her grocery shopping for her & pay for them all. What sort of things should i get? I have no idea and would appreciate some help. Thank you :)
First only use grape seed oil for cooking and what ever. No salt you can get a salt tasting produce made of vegetables and third No fat, of any sort on meat or Chocolate bars and what ever, and no butter, you can get a olive margarine that is made special for people with health problems.
Fresh is best, no deep frying, steaming and dry baking (no oil), use a little water when baking a chicken and herbs, add fresh herbs to lots of things it gives a great taste, also use juice orange/lemon. She must eat the good fats, they are the ones that do cause cholesterol like grape seed oil, fish oil as in tuna and sardines.
You should be able to get information also from you doctor/hospital for diet and ways to cook.
Good luck

"A number of medicines have the side effect of drying out the skin. They include drugs for

High blood pressure, like diuretics
Acne and other skin conditions, like retinoids
If you notice the onset of a dry skin problem after starting a medication, talk to your doctor. He or she may be able to help by changing the dose or switching the medication."

How to lower blood pressure naturally....
Should I really be taking Bendroflumethiazide?
My blood pressure was high at Christmas and my doctor put me on 2.5 Bendroflumethiazide and I have been monitoring my blood pressure since and I have also cut down to just taking half a tablet a day rather than one. My blood pressure is usually around 110/73 and I don't want to continue taking this medication uneccesarily although my doctors says to take it 6 months more and see. I want to see, if I stop taking it totally my blood pressure stays down, if it does then surely I dont' need to be on them, I hate taking medication, espcecially if there is no need. Can I do any damage by stopping taking this half a tablet when my blood pressure is well below the danger level? Should I go down to a quarter of a tablet first?
Veronica Katherine
i think you should do what your doctor recommends, since your doctor saw you and might know more about what's going on in this situation. there might be something you don't understand about her/his treatment and it would be a bad idea to quit something they recommend, especially if they're open to talking to you about quitting it in a few months. be patient and see what happens.

Would a prolonged low grade fever of 99.9 be a symptom of uncontrolled high blood pressure?
I am 24 years old I have had high blood pressure since I was 18 years both parents have it also. For the last three months I have been having chest pain and they have not been able to get the pressure down. I have been hospitalized three times one time being in the ICU. The only test they have done are two different stress test and some EKGs. They have told me that the reason that I have chest pain is because when my blood pressure gets to high the artiries contract causeing pain. I am now taking 9 med which are Telmisartan 80mg, Isosrbide Mononit 60mg, Esomeprazole 40mg, Lisinopril/ HCT 20/12.5mg, Amlodipine10mg, Methyldopa 250mg, Furosemide 40mg, Simvastatn/Ezetimib 20/10mg,Colnidine 0.2mg, and I also take QuickNitro. With all these meds you would think my pressure would below but it is not. My PCP has me come and see him every two weeks while the Cardiac doctors tells me that it is going to take time to find out whats wrong. I also have some leakey valves there not the cause i hope.
Blood pressure does not effect your body temperature. A continuous low-grade fever might be a sign of an infection. See your doctor regarding this.

Will light headiness feeling go away when taking Benicar HCT for high blood pressure?
I just started taking the drug this week for high blood pressure. The side effect is mild but when I get up out of a chair, I feel lightheaded. It only last for a minute or less.
Ed man
  It might not.

Talk to your doctor about your side effects. There are plenty of types of blood pressure medication and you might need to have yours changed.
Who Takes ExForge For High Blood Pressure?
I learned this month I have high blood pressure and my latest drug the doctor switched me to is Exforge 10 mg/320 mg. once a day. That dosage, taken at once, was too strong so I know take 1/2 of Exforge soon as I wake up and the other 1/2 when I go to bed at night.

My problem is Exforge has me loopy. I feel like I'm going to fall over whenever I stand up after taking it and I swear I'm afraid to sleep after I take this because for some reason I don't think I will wake up(DON'T SUFFER FROM DEPRESSION)'s like the Exproge wants to take over. lol. I know it's crazy but that's the way I'm thinking.

I will fight sleep for as long as I can and of course the Exforge wins in the end. lol I always wake up the next day so you would think I would be over that belief.

I think some of these BP meds are mind control drugs...I really do...and to top it all of my blood pressure is still spiking.

Anyone else ever had a really crazy experience with Exforge or any other BP medication and did any BP medication actually bring your blood pressure down to normal?
you should switch the medicine with the help of a good phycisian, amlodipine is not suitable for you.
What is the best blood pressure medicine for extremely high pressure?
My mother has extremely high blood pressure. Last night she went to the hospital with 233/100. They got it down using Cardizem, and prescribed that to her. She's been on a bunch of different pills over the past few years.

She lives in rural West Virginia, and the doctors there have not really been, shall we say, the cream of the crop, so I'm not sure how up to date they are with the available medicines.

She's 68 years old and she is a heavy smoker, but otherwise has great mobility, still drives, etc. (And she's a very good cook!)

Don't worry John, she will pull out of the situation as smokers suffer from COPD and give a tough fight at low oxygen saturation too.The doctor will give her diuretics as she might have retained water in the body and some BP lowering pill (except beta blocker, if she has lung problem).
You will be enjoying her hand made cookies very soon.
by takeing a Tekturna for high blood pressure does it leave abittterness in your mouth?
I take this medciton for high blood pressure and II want to, know dose it leave abitter tast in my month
Generic Name: aliskiren (a LIS ke rin)
Brand Names: Tekturna

Tekturna is an anti-hypertensive (blood pressure lowering) medication. It works by decreasing substances in the body that narrow blood vessels and raise blood pressure.

If you take Tekturna with meals, avoid high-fat foods. They can make it harder for your body to absorb this medication

Follow your doctor's instructions about the type and amount of liquids you should drink while taking Tekturna

Take this medication with a full glass of water.
You may take Tekturna with or without food, but take it the same way every time.

This way, it will avoid that bitterness taste in your mouth.
Can synthroid raise or contribute to high blood pressure?
My mom is taking synthroid and provachol and all of a sudden her blood pressure went from low to high. I thought perhaps one of these medications contributed or caused it.
With hypothyroidism , there is usually low blood pressure. Now that your Mom is on metication for the thyroid your blood pressure would probably go up. If its a little high now, it could be her diet or because she is retaining fluids. A great food to lowrr blood pressure is celery.
Does having a too low blood pressure just as dangerous having a too high blood pressure?
And what happens if your blood pressure is too low?
What happens likewise if you have a too high pressure?
pat m
It depends on what you consider too low. Many people can function very well with low blood pressures. If it gives you severe dizziness or fainting, then it needs to be treated. With high blood pressure, you can get dizziness and headaches and if left untreated, can lead to strokes which can cause permanent damage to your brain and body. And, untreated high blood pressure causes damage to the lining of your vessels which cannot be repaired. High blood pressure always needs treated to prevent future damage. Normal blood pressure should be UNDER 120/80.
Headaches, Dilated Pupils, High BP, High Cholesterol, Racing Heart?
Almost 3 weeks ago I started having high blood pressure 158/118 landed me in the ER, I was very dizzy, and had some chest discomfort, along with mild confusion, and headaches that started 3 days earlier. I had been taken off meds for high blood pressure in Jan 08, and was doing fine, till 3 weeks ago. Blood work came back High Cholesterol after the third set of blood work. Ive been getting headaches in the back of my head that feel like pressure and hurt really bad. But my CT was fine. When I eat certain things my pupils will dilate and I start feeling dizzy, and have blurred vision. I had a stress test done that turned out horrible due to the dizziness once my heart beat reach 171 in 4 minutes. My heart has been staying around the 130's to 150's bpm said its an arrythemia. My family doctor put me on Accupril 10mg but my bp is still 140's-150'/95-109 and doesnt want to give me anything for high cholesterol, or to help the bp get under control said I'm to young for meds. NEED HELP!

Is Lisinopril, Hydrochlorothiazide, Gylburide, Metformin, ok to take for high blood pressure and diabetes?
Are the above pills Ok to take for high blood pressure and diabetes?
Lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide are my 2 favorite medications to use to treat hypertension. These are available in a single pill called Lisinopril HCT which is on the so-called $4 list at major pharmacies. Metformin hydrochloride and glyburide are 2 commonly used drugs for type 2 diabetes as both of these are also on the $4 list. Personally I do not use glyburide or other related drugs. I believe that glyburide and other sulfonylureic agents may lead to premature pancreatic beta (insulin producing) cell failure committing the diabetic to insulin. Unfortunately all of the other drugs to treat type 2 diabetes are very expensive and that explains why glyburide is still used. All 4 of these drugs are very low in incidence of side effects and there are no drug interactions. If I may be of further assistance please let me know. I wish you the very best of health and in all things may God bless.

i have high blood pressure and would like to know if is it best to take micardis before or after workout?
weight train, biking, hiking, etc

darn it... just popped the pill
but good poin my blood pressure rises when i go to bed
I have high blood pressure as well and work out. I however take my medicine before I go to bed and I do not have any problems.
How fast and what kind of symptoms can high blood pressure cause?
In a matter of 2 weeks, my blood pressure has gone from normal to about 155/105. It's especially high in the evenings. Along with it I am having nervousness, a feeling of doom, not really feeling myself, intermittent headaches, non specific discomfort (gas?) bloated feeling, some ringing in ears. Prior to this I had irregular heartbeats for a month before this started. My doctor put me on Cardizem CD. Any advice would help. Thanks
High blood pressure (HBP) itself usually has no symptoms. Rarely, headaches may occur.

You can have HBP for years without knowing it. During this time, HBP can damage the heart, blood vessels, kidneys, and other parts of the body.

Some people only learn that they have HBP after the damage has caused problems, such as coronary heart disease, stroke, or kidney failure.

Knowing your blood pressure numbers is important, even when you're feeling fine. If your blood pressure is normal, you can work with your health care team to keep it that way. If your numbers are too high, you can take steps to lower them and control your blood pressure. This helps reduce your risk for complications.
Can high blood pressure medications give you ED?
Medications like Hytrin (200mg), combined with Azor 5 (40mg), could that give someone erectile dysfunction?

If so, what causes high blood pressure and how can someone get off of the medications? There is no overweight problem.
Yes, I am sure that your meds could be causing your ED. ED has to do with the blood supply to the penis and if you have high blood pressure then that means your blood is having a hard time going where it needs to be going so they are all connected.. As far as getting off the meds, Im not sure, exercising would help greatly because that will strengthen your heart muscle and allow it to pump the blood better. However, it is important not to just stop taking your meds because if you are not ready to do that it could cause you some real problems...
Hope this helps

Carol K
  Hi Carol

Here are some ideas to take care of your issue. Testimonials at the bottom.

High Blood Pressure: There is a thickening of the blood from catarrhal and excess glutinous and fibrinous matters loading the circulatory system. Generally there is a clogging of the bowel with putrid body waste, making it necessary to cleanse the excretory systems in order to purify the blood.

Low blood and high blood pressure are both due to malfunction of the circulatory system. High blood pressure in many cases works just like low blood pressure. Cholesterol must be eliminated from the system in order to get the blood flowing more freely. The condition is brought about by improper diet, insufficient rest and exercise and a lack of vitality within the system.

Herbal Aids:
1. High Blood Pressure: With high blood pressure, cholesterol and mucus form a sludge within the body. Avoid the mucus-forming foods and take herbs that act as a solvent by liquefying impurities such as cayenne, garlic or sassafras. Take cayenne, working up to a teaspoon three times a day. This increases the power of the heart and corrects the circulation problems. Garlic in copious amounts will bring down high blood pressure. Pure tomato juice is very good as a nutritional and a medicinal herb. Wheat germ oil is excellent for feeding the heart and helps cut the cholesterol and smoothens its removal from the area. Avoid the use of liquor and tobacco, do not keep late hours, and avoid over-tiredness and worry. There is an intricate inter-relationship between ones living habits and his body condition.

2. Low Blood Pressure: More oxygen is needed to correct this condition. Garlic is a good oxygen carrier. One of the greatest aids for low or high blood pressure because of oxygen starvation is deep breathing, which serves as a catalyst and helps the herbs react more rapidly. An immediate increase in circulation may be obtained by the use of cayenne and non mucus-forming foods. Grape juice as well as other juices rebuild and give endurance to the system.

3. Shock: Cayenne should be taken internally to equalize the blood pressure and insure that the internal functions will remain stabilized during the intense systemal distress.

4. Dr. Shook's High Blood Pressure Formula (hardening of the arteries, etc.): See formula using sassafras, European goldenrod, buckbean, black cohosh, poke root, Indian senna, buckthorn and cassia bark.

5. Dr. Shook's High Blood Pressure Compound: See formula using valerian root, licorice root, buckthorn, speedwell, linden flowers, rue and golden rod.

6. Dr. Christopher's Blood Pressure Formula: (BPE) This formula feeds calcium and ginger into the circulatory system, the cayenne working from the bloodstream to the heart and arteries, out into the veins. The other herbs included are to cleanse, heal and give natural elasticity to the venous structure. It is a group of herbs working together to equalize the blood pressure whether high or low and to bring it to a good systolic over the diastolic reading. Blood flow is life itself. This combination contains: Ginger, Cayenne, Golden Seal, Ginseng, Parsley, Garlic.

7. Vitamin K: The blood clotting properties of Vitamin K, it has been found effective in preventing and curing high blood pressure in test animals, and may turn out to be important for the same use in humans. It is important that in the plant kingdom, only Alfalfa contains a significant amount of Vitamin K; most plants are quite deficient in the vitamin.

8. Kelp: It is an arterial cleansing agent and gives tone to the walls of the blood vessels. It is helpful in some cases of arterial tension (high blood pressure). Practitioners believe that it helps to remove deposits from the walls of the arteries and restore their elasticity, thereby lengthening life. Sufferers from low blood pressure can also have this condition normalized with the use of Kelp.

9. Shepherd's Purse: Acts to constrict the blood vessels and thus can raise blood pressure but it has also been said to regularize blood pressure and heart action whether the pressure is too high or too low.

10. Valerian: The herb has a beneficial effect on the heart and on blood pressure. One man felt "jittery and woozy" taking his blood pressure medicine and asked an herbal practitioner for something to help him. He didn't say that he was going to stop taking his medicine but a few weeks later, he said that he had been to his doctor, and that his blood pressure was down to normal. He didn't have the nerve to tell the doctor that he had stopped taking the medicine and was drinking a tea composed mostly of Valerian and hawthorne.

11. Hawthorn Berries: A celebrated cardiac tonic for many centuries. Under conditions of stress, the heart often "works overtime." Hawthorn berries can help in treatment of high or low blood pressure, tachycardia, and arrhythmia. It is also anti-spasmodic, sedative, and soothing to nerves, especially in nervous insomnia.

12. Garlic: Many people have been helped in ridding the body of worms by inserting a peeled button of garlic as high as possible into the rectum. Do this just before retiring at night and it will come out with the first bowel movement in the morning. (This is also a fine aid in adjusting high blood pressure and low blood pressure).

13. Water: It is very beneficial to drink a gallon of "steam distilled water" each day. This will aid to cut down the hardening of the arteries, adjust high and low blood pressure, and retard body dehydration. The amount of water depends on the weight of the individual. Use one ounce of "steam distilled water" to each pound of body weight. i.e. a one hundred and thirty pound individual should drink a gallon of the water (132 oz.) or a twenty pound child, twenty ounces of the water.

14. Juices for High Blood Pressure: Celery-garlic-parsley, celery, dandelion, grapefruit.

15. Juices for Low Blood Pressure: Beet, grape, pomegranate.

16. Ephedra: Excessive amounts of ephedra should not be used by those people who have high blood pressure, but the small amounts in Dr. Christopher's formulas will have no adverse effects. Ephedra is great for those suffering from low blood pressure.

17. Vegetables for Blood Pressure: The green bell-shaped pepper is especially good for ... high blood pressure and acidosis. The Sweet Potato used... for problems of low blood pressure and poor circulation. Peaches are considered valuable in cases of ...high blood pressure Pineapple is considered good for... high blood pressure. Strawberry is recommended for ... high blood pressure. Ample consumption of tomatoes is considered to improve ... high blood pressure.

18. Pecans: These have been used where there is a problem with low blood pressure...Pinon nuts have saved the life of many an Indian baby when made into a nut soup and used as milk for the baby when the mother had no milk. The nut is considered to be effective where there are problems with the lungs such as tuberculosis, impotence, paralysis, low blood pressure, and emaciation. The Pinon nut is one of the best sources of protein in the nut family.

1. Dr. Christopher Tells the Story: I traveled with a man younger than myself several years ago all over the western part of the United States on business. He marveled at the stamina that an older man could have on long drives without displaying the usual fatigue. Each morning I would get up and have my cayenne and my wheat germ oil (I don't pay attention to anyone else, I just take them, regardless). Finally he got curious and said, "What's that stuff?" So I gave him an illustrative lecture, and he responded, "Well, I have hemorrhoids; my mother died of high blood pressure, and I have high blood pressure; and with the hemorrhoids I have to wear a belt, as you probably noticed, to keep my hemorrhoids up in place. Do you think that (meaning cayenne) will help?" "Not unless you take it," I replied. "Well, I will start taking it." Then I added, "I don't think you're man enough; I don't think you are brave enough," and I turned and walked away. Now, he was well-proportioned and a weight lifter, so after I left, he went over and got into my can and started using the cayenne along with the wheat germ oil, and by spring he did not have to wear a belt any longer as his hemorrhoids were cleared. Then he had an amazing surprise when he went to his doctor for a regular check-up; the doctor took his blood pressure three or four times and said, "This is supposed to be progressively worse. I don't know what has happened; your systolic and diastolic are near perfect. You don't need to come back any longer --I don't know what happened!" Well, he did not have to go back, and today this gentleman who lives in the Salt Lake City area has no high blood pressure, for he kept on taking his cayenne.

2. Dr. Christopher's Own Story: Because of my own experiences I must tell you that I am a firm believer in the use of cayenne for the circulatory. I suffered ill health in my youth and from my middle twenties to the middle thirties it was impossible for me to purchase life insurance, even a thousand dollar policy. This was due in part to the hardening of the arteries and a disposition to high blood pressure which I suffered from.

During my middle forties I tried again for a substantially large policy of life insurance. Because of the amount of the insurance I had requested, I was required to see two different doctors, each of whom gave me an examination. After one examination the doctor exclaimed that he was astounded at my blood pressure which resembled that of a healthy teenager though I was forty-five years old. The second doctor measured my blood pressure five times, in each instance shaking his head and repeatedly scrutinizing my case history chart. I was becoming irritated and asked him if his equipment was broken, seeing that he had repeated the reading over and over. He told me that the equipment had been used without trouble for some time, but since my age was forty-five and I had a perfect systolic over diastolic pressure he had to wonder if the reading was correct. I assured him that it was and related what the other doctor had said. I got an O.K. for the policy from both practitioners.

Last year as I neared seventy years of age I told this story to a class I was instructing. One of the pre-medicine students asked if my blood pressure was still as good as it had been then. So I gave him permission to take my blood pressure. Amazingly, the group saw the blood pressure reading of a healthy young man and not the average reading of a seventy-year-old individual. This was very gratifying to me to say the least. The main reason for this good blood pressure of mine, besides my close adherence to the mucusless diet, was the use of cayenne as a food each day. I take one to three teaspoons or more of cayenne every day of my life and the resulting healthy blood pressure is what I call a good pay-off for a total effort.

3. Dr. Christopher's "Hawthorn Berry Syrup has been doing us so much good. It's difficult to find adequate thank you expressions for you. In addition to help for heart problems it has also been stabilizing a high blood pressure problem of long standing which is really worthy of praise. We take it only twice a day, but perhaps if it was taken three times, it would bring the blood pressure to normal ... At least we are not using the drug prescription for some time now."

Best of health to you

High Blood Pressure Medication?
Any one out there taking Prinivil/generic: Lisinopril ?

What were your side-effects from the medicine? And did anyone out there notice any side-effects from their high-blood pressure? They say it is silent.. but I swear I feel anxious, tense and sometimes I get headaches or dizzy.. any one else out there feel like that?
The biggest thing that usually happens when folks start ACEI's (like you are) is just feeling pooped. I've never read about it, so it is only my guess that the body was used to being at the higher pressure & must adapt to the lower one. Dizzy/headaches would go with that. I wonder if the anxious/tense could come from just feeling wierd/different. You should feel better in 1-3 weeks. If you don't, call the prescriber. There are too many blood pressure meds. not to be on one that agrees with you.
If I switch my blood pressure medicine from cardizem to altace or a different blood pressure medicine?
will my blood pressure go up until the new blood pressure medicine starts to work

or will the New Blood Pressure medicine pick up where the other blood pressure medicine left off
It depends. The prescriber may start the new medication at a low dose to see how you tolerate it. If your blood pressure does not respond appropriately it may then be increased.
